I know it’s been said a thousand times but I really, really hate streaming culture. I am not jumping through hoops and doing backflips just to get my faves to chart. It’s so icky. submitted by /u/Initial-General1863 [link] [comments]

As a marketing student I was thinking how amazing it would have been if the concept around the tour would have been a "journey" through their eras from their first 2 EPs Square one and two up to The album and Born pink. The girls have a small discography as a group but I still think it would have been really emotional for us fans considering they are about to turn 10 years as a group next year. Like imagine if they would have recreated some of their past iconic looks for the different intersections opening videos, it would have been amazing. Plus the girls could have performed one solo song each during the different album eras based on their solo debut year for example Jennie could have performed her solo song after the "Square Up"(2018) section because her first solo was in 2018 or Lisa could perform hers after "The album" (2020) section because she went solo in 2021 and so on. submitted by /u/Alarmed-Location8681 [link] [comments]
There’s talk that Aespa’s Dirty Work might enter the Billboard Hot 100, but I keep seeing Reddit posts questioning the legitimacy of their streams, with comments like “I guess their fans found a way to boost streams lol” and similar remarks. (especially in that kpop_uncnsrd sub) It only seems to become an issue when Aespa does it. They’re already an established group, so it was only a matter of time before they charted on the Hot 100. Yet when groups with similar level of popularity achieve the same, Kpop Reddit is full of praise and congratulations. I honestly don’t get the double standard. Also, even if the streams were boosted, why act like other fandoms don’t do the same? Every fandom puts in effort to boost their favs’ streams. submitted by /u/Diligent_Thought_165 [link] [comments]
This is very low hanging fruit eh. You guys make it so easy for the rest of us. And it’s not just Blinks (which I guess like all four members), but Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa solo stans as well 🤣👋🏼 submitted by /u/KyeodeurangiMerchant [link] [comments]
I’ve noticed that in some performances or promotional stages, certain idols wear eye patches, and it’s not just a one-time thing—it shows up in multiple appearances. I was wondering if there’s a specific reason behind it? Is it due to an injury, a fashion choice, or something else? Just curious if anyone knows more about this. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Legal_Potential4720 [link] [comments]

(this is not about gnarly specifically, i like that song now and i think it's a great marketing move from them) katseye has so much hype from social media. they are all extremely talented, gorgeous, and charismatic. i know they're now in the public consciousness due to gnarly and gabriela/mean girls going semi-viral on kpop tiktok, but none of their songs really HIT me. they release tracks with good ideas (mia for example) and they're always just too short and not dynamic enough. i would love for them to be longer, discover the concept of a BRIDGE, experiment more with their verses, etc, like how in gnarly every verse was distinct. i hated the length of that song though, it's like you breathe and it's over. i know hybe is capable of making great songs. i hope this turns out to be a nmixx kinda situation where they eventually find their footing and start releasing bangers after bangers. also please let the girls in the studio!!! those unreleased demos are so good submitted by /u/angelcake___ [link] [comments]

I'm referring to this performance by AHOF, newly debuted, from the survival show Universe League. This was so... funny? To watch. I don't know if I've just not watched enough music show performances, but I was just taken aback. Like, typically it's either everyone's using a lot of backtrack and you sometimes hear a breath or flat note or two, or you can kinda hear everyone, or in rare cases everyone's loud and audible. Or it's the fake "breathing" track. But here, it's like... half the members are blatantly lipsyncing, which makes it REALLY jarring when it switches to the members who are singing loud and clear? Like, Park Han's mic is loud the whole time. He's very audible. Woongki leans on the backtrack for falsetto which is what I would expect and want him to do on music shows - but is otherwise very loud. Steven, Juwon and Daisuke are only really audible in rap lines, which is kinda just par for the course. Shuaibo is deadass not singing. Like I don't mean this to be hate on him, but his lines are literally the studio audio. And it's pretty much the same for Chih En and Jeongwoo. And the one I was most weirded out by was JL. JL is an EXCELLENT singer. But I feel like I barely heard him here? Like it's not nearly as egregious as the other three, but... he sung like a quarter of his lines. Again, not hating on him - I'm gonna bet this was a choice made largely by the production team pre-performance. But we've heard his live vocals on the survival show; he often had some of the least evident editing compared to the blatant autotune UL used in the later rounds. So it's just a bit weird to hear... or I guess not hear him? Am proud of Park Han and Woongki though. Both of them have darker, huskier tones that can be tougher to stabilise with choreo, and those two + Juwon probably dance the most "full-out". So to hear them singing all their lines makes me happy. But yeah, I'm not posting to hate on the group. If you go back in my history, I watched the entirety of UL and I like the final 9. I'm more just confused because I've never heard a music show performance where several members are lipsyncing every line, but then another few members have their mics turned up to 100. Usually they do a better job at balancing it so the lipsyncing sounds less blatant. Maybe my memory is just bad and this does happen a lot, but I'm just posting this as a thought, not too deep or anything. submitted by /u/hollaQ_ [link] [comments]

This company is pretty much an expert at fumbling basically Every. Single. Groups that they have and Zerobaseone is pretty much one step away from having such an unceremonious disbandment. First lets start with the amount, or should I say a lack thereof OT9 contents that is becoming increasingly evident these days. Its basically mostly unit or solo contents, and its not even close to be fair with certain members (ehm RICKY) getting the shaft. This obviously causes akgaes to run rampant and Im not even blaming them atp because its been going on for so long its honestly crazy just how mishandled and mistreated they are (especially RICKY). But you know what? Maybe I can still stay positive, maybe I would be rewarded with the world tour that they will have on their final months. Boy little did I know the announcement of the tour dates will be the main reason I wrote this post in the first place. First of all, lets not even talk about the announcement yet. The world tour has been teased since April. And guess when the tour date was released? YESTERDAY. Three whole months of absolute silence and absolutely NOTHING regarding what's going on with the world tour. What's even worse? Zhang Hao pretty much confirmed they STILL never even do a group photo for this tour, and its evident with the complete empty space of their poster. You think that would mean they are saving that for the amount of tour dates that they have right? Well ladies and gentlemen, we have a grand total of... SEVEN tour dates in total. With a grand total of seven countries, ALL of them are from Asia. And they also happen to skip Jakarta (where I am living in right now 😀) and Manila, which means Indonesian and Filipino zeroses need to FLY overseas to see them this time around. Oh yeah should I remind you that they somehow have LESS tour dates than their first tour (with a grand total of EIGHT)??? Oh it gets even better. The date they are setting Seoul stops in? That is when Chuseok holiday is beginning. So yeah, imagine the amount of k zeroses and the members themselves that SHOULD be resting and celebrating this holiday but cannot because of Wakeone's incompentency (and mind you this part even made Gyuvin mad in live). The Saitama stops were held in WEEKDAYS where a lot of j zeroses wouldn't be able to attend. Hong Kong stop is when Dongzhi festival is happening, and on top of that was held on a relatively small venue. The Singapore stop? It was held right after the date where Yujin WOULD HAVE been taking his CSATs. This is very important to him, mind you, and the fact that he would probably have to compromise one of them is seriously fucked. If you're an American Zerose, better hope you have tons of money to go get yourselves ticket dates for Kcon LA, or otherwise you'd never ever going to see them live. For European Zeroses, well better hope you can fly to Lisbon to go to Mubank to watch them there. And as for Australian and LATAM zeroses, Wakeone pretty much says fuck you to you guys, you guys don't deserve to see them live. I know there's possibility of tour dates would be added, but by this point? Would it be feasible?? Weeks after the final stop would've been when their contract ENDED and most likely is when we'll see the group for the final time. On top of that end of the year award shows would be going on and Taipei date means they have to skip AAA already (and break Hanbin's MC streak as a result). God... its a mess. An absolute mess. Zerobaseone deserves better than this. They deserved an agency so much better than this and I would've hoped they magically can get a contract from a different company where they dont have to go through this shit again but honestly that feels like wishing for pigs to be able to grow wings. Tl:dr FUCK you Wakeone. You dont deserve them. At all. submitted by /u/EmanuelTheodorus [link] [comments]
