Hello! As someone who is BRAND NEW to the kpop world, I have mostly been listening to LE SSERAFIM. I know their whole discography at this point. However, I want to know what the most iconic girl group songs/performances are? Which performance completely changed the game? Who are the trailblazers of kpop? IDC what generation they are from, in theory there's probably trailblazers from each generation. submitted by /u/mad1s0ngrac3 [link] [comments]

Wonyoung has always been popular since her debut in IZ* ONE because she was just really born for this job. Disbandment of IZ* ONE and re-debuting in long term group under Starship happened not long enough after one situation. People were starving through the rumours and Starship played so well and impact, numbers and other even small things like unequal treatment made them reach higher levels. Starship was doing so well with their music since SISTAR was the last one of the label to dominate the industry with one status “Queen of Summer Songs”. The elegant core of IVE stood out well in this gen. It is really hit when a 4th idol group was pulling 200M, 300M views multiple times since only the three biggest groups with strong fandoms could pull those views multiple times regularly. They secured brand deals, MC project, Brand Reputation, style and everything. Wonyoung carried but their music is just too good. submitted by /u/leonardreignn [link] [comments]

I know it’s been said a thousand times but I really, really hate streaming culture. I am not jumping through hoops and doing backflips just to get my faves to chart. It’s so icky. submitted by /u/Initial-General1863 [link] [comments]

As a marketing student I was thinking how amazing it would have been if the concept around the tour would have been a "journey" through their eras from their first 2 EPs Square one and two up to The album and Born pink. The girls have a small discography as a group but I still think it would have been really emotional for us fans considering they are about to turn 10 years as a group next year. Like imagine if they would have recreated some of their past iconic looks for the different intersections opening videos, it would have been amazing. Plus the girls could have performed one solo song each during the different album eras based on their solo debut year for example Jennie could have performed her solo song after the "Square Up"(2018) section because her first solo was in 2018 or Lisa could perform hers after "The album" (2020) section because she went solo in 2021 and so on. submitted by /u/Alarmed-Location8681 [link] [comments]
There’s talk that Aespa’s Dirty Work might enter the Billboard Hot 100, but I keep seeing Reddit posts questioning the legitimacy of their streams, with comments like “I guess their fans found a way to boost streams lol” and similar remarks. (especially in that kpop_uncnsrd sub) It only seems to become an issue when Aespa does it. They’re already an established group, so it was only a matter of time before they charted on the Hot 100. Yet when groups with similar level of popularity achieve the same, Kpop Reddit is full of praise and congratulations. I honestly don’t get the double standard. Also, even if the streams were boosted, why act like other fandoms don’t do the same? Every fandom puts in effort to boost their favs’ streams. submitted by /u/Diligent_Thought_165 [link] [comments]
This is very low hanging fruit eh. You guys make it so easy for the rest of us. And it’s not just Blinks (which I guess like all four members), but Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa solo stans as well 🤣👋🏼 submitted by /u/KyeodeurangiMerchant [link] [comments]
I’ve noticed that in some performances or promotional stages, certain idols wear eye patches, and it’s not just a one-time thing—it shows up in multiple appearances. I was wondering if there’s a specific reason behind it? Is it due to an injury, a fashion choice, or something else? Just curious if anyone knows more about this. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/Legal_Potential4720 [link] [comments]

(this is not about gnarly specifically, i like that song now and i think it's a great marketing move from them) katseye has so much hype from social media. they are all extremely talented, gorgeous, and charismatic. i know they're now in the public consciousness due to gnarly and gabriela/mean girls going semi-viral on kpop tiktok, but none of their songs really HIT me. they release tracks with good ideas (mia for example) and they're always just too short and not dynamic enough. i would love for them to be longer, discover the concept of a BRIDGE, experiment more with their verses, etc, like how in gnarly every verse was distinct. i hated the length of that song though, it's like you breathe and it's over. i know hybe is capable of making great songs. i hope this turns out to be a nmixx kinda situation where they eventually find their footing and start releasing bangers after bangers. also please let the girls in the studio!!! those unreleased demos are so good submitted by /u/angelcake___ [link] [comments]
