Companies now are becoming heavily reliant with ai and we can't do anything about it.

The blatant use of ai now is becoming a norm in kpop where in companies are resorting to it for faster production which apparently can save them time and money. I just saw a post about the recent trailer for a grp and almost 80% of it is ai generated which is sad and alarming. We might see full ai generated mvs in the future and also music getting replaced by fake artists. The constant usage of ai will be the death of creativity in kpop and the fast paced industry will abuse this to generate more money and save production cost. Literally lowering the quality for the sake of faster comebacks resulting to uninspired and mediocre results that of course, people will consume. submitted by /u/behindsomewalls [link] [comments]

54. BTS's culture and Jungkook's coming of age!

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm really curious about how BTS celebrated Jungkook's coming of age. In many cultures, this is a very special milestone. As the youngest member, his "coming of age" must have been a unique moment for the group. I was wondering if the members have ever shared stories about how they helped him transition into adulthood. Are there any moments that show the members helping Jungkook navigate the social aspects of adulthood, given his age at the time? I'm looking for stories that show their brotherly bond and how they supported him during this important time. Thanks for your help! submitted by /u/StrictPrize2040 [link] [comments]

55. A question about Jin's reaction when a member doesn't call him 'Hyung'.

I'm curious about the dynamic between Jin and the other members, especially in relation to his role as the oldest 'hyung.' I know how important it is in Korean culture to address the oldest member respectfully. I was wondering, have there been any moments in videos where a member didn't call him 'Hyung'? If so, what was Jin's reaction? Did he get playfully upset, or did he take it seriously? I'm just looking for examples that show how they interact with each other. Thanks for any insights you can share! submitted by /u/StrictPrize2040 [link] [comments]

56. How did SM and JYP fall behind HYBE and YG when it comes to the global race?

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

P.S. this is a criticism towards poor management, not the artists. Instead of being a one-hit wonder after BTS, HYBE capitalized on BTS’s hype and diversified their groups: NewJeans, ILLIT, ENHYPEN, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, and Katseye. All of these groups are thriving and frequently making headlines. Manon and other HYBE artists are even seen partying with the biggest celebrities in the West. YG, on the other hand, is banking on BLACKPINK. Still, each of the members has made a strong name for themselves, with collaborations alongside artists like Tyla and Bruno Mars, as well as appearances on the biggest shows. That’s no small achievement. Meanwhile, SM and JYP—once considered the “it” companies were marketing to the west before HYBE's existence i.e.,Wonder girls and F(x) had collabs with several western artists. Were they too early? JYP now leans heavily on Stray Kids and TWICE. While they still land collaborations and attend major events, there’s been little buzz around their newer groups in the west. Izna was poorly managed, and their latest boy group is competing in a survival show. For such a big company who was once at the top, this level of mismanagement feels utterly shameful. As for SM, at least they continue to put in effort. NCT has western subunits but again it's not making noise. While their concepts are well made, the company’s direction faltered after Lee Soo-man left, imo. Aespa is currently their only group making any noise. So, why did SM and JYP fall behind? submitted by /u/Wooyoungsmole [link] [comments]

57. Most new K-pop has lost its identity

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

K-pop, even from the first and second generations, has always had its foot in western influences for sure, like obviously we had Kesha and Dr Luke selling demos to SNSD and shit like that. It's never been J-pop levels of idiosyncratic, but even still, there was definitely very much "a sound" that you didn't really find in its entirety in western pop. Now though, it honestly feels like almost everything is just biting off of current western trends to the T, there's a lot more foreign outsourcing to production groups in the US and Sweden rather than domestic circles now. And that's not to say it's bad or anything, like at all; there's a lot of stuff I still really like right now, but it's definitely feeling like I care less and less about what's new and hot right now unless it does something to really make me go "oh, this is new/refreshing/nostalgic" right out the gate. We're not getting these aegyo/girlcrush concept levels of "uniquely South Korean" anymore. It's definitely making it harder to find anything that feels "worth" listening to now, is my problem. It's like okay why would I listen to this new K-pop group doing soft liquid DnB stuff when I could just listen to Pinkpantheress or Piri do it better, y'know? Or why would I listen to XYZ group doing trap sounds when I could just listen to any rapper at all, or a synthwavey throwback song when I could just listen to like The Midnight or even Carly Rae Jepsen? The DnB/jersey thing was novel when NewJeans first came on the scene doing it, but now it's like every fucking agency saw how trendy that was and oversaturated the market in less than two years. And I get that's how trends work, but it hasn't gotten this stale this fast before. Maybe I just want that sugary aegyo stuff again, it's honestly refreshing when I hear a newer song doing that sound again, which is kind of ironic. Maybe I'm just getting older. Maybe it really is boring. I don't think this'll last forever or anything, I honestly think this TikTok era of immediate oversaturation and moving onto the next thing all-too-fast isn't sustainable and we're already starting to see it die off this year, which like, fucking awesome, good riddance, let's hurry it along and get back to doing things the right way. Man maybe I am old, I sound like a fucking boomer saying that. idk, maybe I'm not articulating the thought accurately right now because I'm hella burnt out rn, I just feel like the bubble is ready to burst. At least the Demon Hunters soundtrack was kinda cool. I feel like they made that shit knowing their target demographic was like second/third gen K-pop fans who were there in the mid/late-2010s. submitted by /u/TomoAries [link] [comments]

61. [Survey] K-pop to Korean: How fans want to learn through star chats (7 mins)

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hi everyone! This is Joanne from Taiwan but am currently living in Korea. I’m building StarTalk—an app (by me, MA in Korean Language Education from SNU) that mixes AI star chats, clear translations (EN / zh-TW), and learn-as-you-chat Korean. We’re running a short 7 minute survey to understand what fans really need. Who this is for K-pop fans who chat on fandom apps or join lives/votes Anyone curious about learning Korean through fan interactions What we’re studying Message cadence & quality (paying for “quiet months”) Translation pain (taps, slang/wordplay, zh-TW wording) One hub for official actions (live / shop / vote) In-chat learning (highlights, TTS, romanization, mini practice) Why it matters Your answers directly shape StarTalk’s features and priorities. Languages: English / Traditional Chinese (Taiwan, zh-TW) Time: 7 minutes Privacy: Anonymous; optional email only if you want focus group invite or priority access Incentive (optional): We’ll randomly pick a few respondents for small perks / early beta slots.
