9. Learn Korean by talking to Koreans about k-pop

  • 2 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Tired of duolingo owl emotionally abusing you? Same. Instead of “practice Korean or I’ll kill your family 👀” I just wanted someone to say: “bro your Korean sucks but I still love you 💗” So as an actual Korean, I snapped one day and thought: Fine. If people can’t find a Korean friend, I’ll manufacture one. That’s how mystix was born — an AI Korean buddy built by Koreans, for people who: Mix English + Korean like “Yeah, Saja Boys are fire too, their song "Soda Pop" is catchy as heck! ㅇㅇ, 사자보이즈도 개좋아, "소다 팝" 노래 완전 중독성 있어!” Want someone to voice call at 2AM to rant about life Prefer “ㅋㅋㅋㅋ” over “👏YOU👏MISSED👏YOUR👏STREAK👏” We’re opening a Closed Beta, so if you want: ✅ A Korean friend who never sleeps ✅ Actually replies instantly ✅ Doesn’t judge your grammar sins Then yeah… link’s below. Go adopt your own Korean. https://home.mystix.ai submitted by /u/ComprehensiveMix7789 [link] [comments]

12. I'm new and I have Questions about how different Kpop groups are

  • 3 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hi! I tend to watch a lot of Kdrama and lately thats been crossing over into K-pop, mainly the algorithm showing me Stray Kids content (clearly I clicked on it). I was a little surprised by how quirky they are, or maybe I should say I was surprised that their image as idols wasn't more curated or managed? Idk exactly, but it got me wondering about what other groups are like in comparison. (my only fandom I can claim is being a twosetter which is very...not k-pop?....lol) So my questions are for anyone who has observed or participated in several groups and their fandoms since I have only observed one, and only for a short time. What level of unique personalities or styles is there between groups? Are Stray Kids much of an outlier? Do fandoms have very different nornorand culture, or are the generally similar? How "managed" are the groups these days? I guess I have some sense that the industry may have shifted on this over time...? Thank you for taking time to answer silly questions from a noob...and I know they are broad gereralized questions which can be hard to answer but I was just hoping to get a sense for the K-pop scene, I know there is bound to be a lot of nuance. submitted by /u/EveryCloud2 [link] [comments]

13. English version was better than Korean version

I have seen many kpop songs where the Korean version was way better than the English version. Have you guys ever noticed any songs where it’s the opposite? I can’t think of any. submitted by /u/urfavoritestargirl [link] [comments]

18. Being an African stan sucks 💔

  • 7 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

First of all, I'm South African, and the most popular genre here is amapiano, so I doubt I'll ever hear kpop in a store unless it's an actual Korean store or just an Asian restaurant. I only stan Stray kids right now, but I listen to a lot of different groups and genres. Sadly, my parents hate my music taste so much that whenever they catch me listening to kpop, I have to turn it off. They know I like kpop, because I constantly talk about Stray Kids. My mother believes they are all gay, and are secretly drag queens. She also believes every group in kpop is demonic because of Kpop Demon Hunters, and when she saw it, she compared the groups I listen to, to the Saja Boys 😔💔 Anyways, any kpop merch here is SO DAMN EXPENSIVE. Ridiculously overpriced. But I seriously don't understand why they never wanna step a foot in the whole continent of Africa.. We have water, stadiums, food, whatever.. Animals don't just randomly roam around in our streets, it's literally just a continent😐 But yeah I just wanted to yap.. Thanks for reading 😝 submitted by /u/EcstaticTrack2632 [link] [comments]

21. What genre or type of song do you want your ult group to try?

  • 8 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm just bored and curious. For my ult group, Stray kids, I'd like them to make a song with a jersey club type beat- similar to the beginning of the ATE trailer. The mix of their rap and vocals over that kind of rhythm would be really interesting to hear. submitted by /u/EcstaticTrack2632 [link] [comments]

22. I love the canonical event of K-Pop that is BoA's English album (it's literally entirely made of Britney Blackout demos)

  • 8 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

In 2009, BoA released a self titled English album. It was mostly dance pop that was very popular in the west at the time, and I feel like it doesn't get talked about enough for how many Blackout/In The Zone rejects are on there. BoA pretty much released a Britney Spears album with the amount of demos and it's so funny to me. Obsessed, Scream, Energetic, Look Who's Talking off of the top of my head were all pitched and even some were recorded by Britney before production changed their minds. submitted by /u/fishingforsomepies [link] [comments]

25. Wihch kpop group do you think keep improving after every single comebacks

  • 10 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For me this has to be NMIXX . expergó is pretty good but everything after is an absolute banger then there is the first of 3 fe3O4 Ep : Break. This one is very very good especially Passionfruit and Run for roses. Then Stick Out Beat Beat alone justify it being an absolute banger. and finally Forward. There isn't one of those 6 songs I didn't obssesed over especially Golden Recipe, Know about me also being Their best title track in my opinion. SPINNIN' ON IT is also incredible. I have to say my exceptations for Blue valentine are pretty much in the sky but I know they will succeed to reach them. submitted by /u/Gullible_Gear_5543 [link] [comments]

26. If KPop is still very niche then it's better to be popular in the home country for longevity

  • 10 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I came across this post https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop_uncensored/s/Hq71NTZahv it's about op asking how relevant KPop in their home countries and majority of the answer is still very niche/not mainstream. So if KPop is not mainstream anywhere else it's better to be popular in the home country which is Korea if they want to have a long lasting career. So groups like straykids and ateez Will not last long because they re not popular in their home country submitted by /u/Chemical_Mobile_6613 [link] [comments]
