So I woke up this morning and WENT STRAIGHT to the album (and I love it) and once I got to “Sunday Driver” I immediately thought of “Echo” from Ablume. To start off, the song itself is good. The only thing I’d change is the placement of the iconic “BlackPink in your Area”, I’d place it before Rosè starts the song. Now onto the mv, it’s not bad but not good. Scenes like the eardrum were amazing, loved the neon suits and hair styles but the fact that a good 50% of the mv is people head banging and not focusing on the members feels off. I’ve seen some people say it was because the girls scheduling didn’t match up. It also felt off due to the editing of the mv with some examples being Jennie’s face not moving during the running scene and weird warping with the back ground. Gfriend's THE AWAKENING EP and specifically Fingertip as a title track by Gfriend, while being a huge shift from their usual mystical and sparkling horse girl music, in retrospect was a Masterpiece. From the opening track Hear the Wind Sing, all the way to Crush, the album is jam packed with high quality production, cohesiveness, and a real identity defining musical direction. With specifically Fingertip, I genuinely do not have enough hyperbolies to throw at this song but I will try. It sounds like if Gfriend, Kara and Sistar had a baby musically. It has all of the qualities that make it a GFriend staple, all while pushing the groups boundaries with a slightly more mature sound. I think the biggest compliment I can give to the song is that it sounds like a prime Sweetune produced track. Its giving Female INFINITE in terms of sound! So I went to my first k-pop concert a few days ago. I went to see Ateez in Nashville and I was so excited. The show starts and immediately this woman behind me starts screeching at the top of her lungs, like banshee type scream. I am obviously caught off guard but I continue to enjoy the show but she keeps doing it. A little background info— I have a tic disorder and my tics often can get worse when I’m in noisy places. But I wasn’t too worried about it cause I went to see The Rose the night before and everything was fine. But this screeching stuff wasn’t good for me. About 15 minutes in I start feeling an attack come on which is never good because my tic attacks can last for up to an hour. So I obviously start panicking. It was not an option for me to ask this woman to stop because one: I knew she wouldn’t and two: I absolutely despise confrontation. I’m 17 and have severe social anxiety so this was like my nightmare. Long story short we had to leave the show and I am truly heartbroken over it. I had a panic attack on the way home and have been in a horrible mood since. I just wish people would consider others when they go to events like this. I understand being excited but screaming that high pitched was uncalled for. Anyway, yeah I’m very upset and sad that I didn’t get to stay to watch their amazing performance.
