At first I obviously thought it was insane because Lara had openly came out as queer. But the more I think about it, it really annoys me that Lara (who is an openly queer woman) is getting these accusations, since no one ever says this when two female idols act the same. Im not going to name anyone but sometimes it is glaringly obvious when idols think it’s funny and cute to act “fruity” or when they are doing it for fan service, because they know fans go crazy over it. So why is it now a problem when an openly queer woman embraces her sexuality and owns who she is🤨 Honestly, I already know why but the way queer women are treated is disgusting. Especially a queer woman of colour. submitted by /u/M0us3Cheezz [link] [comments]
The mtv nominations came out yesterday and multiple KPOP fandoms where up in arms over their faves being considered....kpop. And I have a question. These artists may not have korean lyrics in most of their songs but they built their careers and fanbases in kpop,,still put out physical albums with photocards and photobooks and generally speaking still operate in the kpop sphere. But the fandoms, and I'm referring to multiple ones, not one specific act like being considered kpop is an insult and this is what iks me the most. They act like kpop is inferior, less quality,a sub culture compared to western music and this is why they're up in arms their faves are nominated under the kpop category. And this attitude comes from kpop stans mind you. Kpop stans themselves. YOU are kpop stans too. Why do you even stan kpop if you think it's that inferior. A lot of the times the kpop community in general compliments artists by saying they're bigger than kpop/their songs don't sound like kpop. It reeks of xenophobia and racism. No music genre is inferior to another So yeah, this is basically a post on the weird attitude towards kpop by kpop stans themselves. It is not a drag towards any nominated artist but a criticism towards the way the fandoms treats kpop itself submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]
Now that we’ve seen some missions and the trainees are starting to show what they’re made of, I’m super curious to know everyone’s Top 8 picks for Boys II Planet! 😭🔥 Here’s mine so far: Yumeki – Legendary choreographer stepping into idol life like a pro. His vocal improvement is REAL. Yoo Kangmin – VERIVERY’s maknae. So polished, charming, and versatile. Heechan (DKB) – His dance skills hit like a truck every stage. Stage presence = chef’s kiss. Harry‑June (DKB) – Energetic, confident, and already feels debut-ready. Chung Sanghyeon – His intensity on stage is addicting. A dark horse for sure. Kim Geonwoo – Steady, solid, and seriously talented. Lee Leo – Visuals, charisma, and stage performance are all on point. Yusen – P NATION trainee that’s been catching my eye lately. Super promising. P.S I didn’t choose sangwon because he is debuting 100% and it really doesn’t matter if I put him in my top 8 or not. Everyone’s preferences are so different, and I love seeing how fan picks evolve as the show progresses. 👉 So—who’s in your Top 8 right now? Any trainees you think are being slept on? Let’s talk 👇 Boys2Planet #BoysIIPlanet #Yumeki #Kangmin #DKB #Heechan #HarryJune #KpopSurvival #Top8 #KpopDiscussion submitted by /u/Renebae1991 [link] [comments]

I think Wooseo ( Woochan and Youngseo ) give golden retriever and black cat energy both in terms of their appearance and how they interact with each other. What are some other examples? submitted by /u/DiMpLe_dolL003 [link] [comments]

It's funny that kpop stans used that particular article that has like 6 likes to drag Nmixx debut as the worst kpop debut in 2025 Is funny but also annoying. For some weird reason I can't attach the media here submitted by /u/whatdoesthecocksay69 [link] [comments]

Which is why I don't. But I still come across them sometimes. I like it when Idols do TikTok Videos where they get the joke. When they get the trend. When they wanted to record it themselves. Every Idol Group posts so many TikToks, sometimes once a day. These TikToks are on the schedule of these Idols, they are part of work. A staff picked which trend they do and records it, in hopes of staying hip with the young kids. It just comes off as so inauthentic. And ends up being so meaningless to me. I prefer Idols do trends that they want to do. That they get. That they like and think are funny or cute. I don't want to see someone being forced to act cringe or do something they don't want to do, or wouldn't have done themselves. It is a meaningless corporate move that only has little to do with the Celebrity I like. By the way: I am not talking about dance challenges with other artists here, with which I am also not a big fan of (so repetitive) but at least they get to interact with other groups naturally, and they promote their songs in a logical way. So it's okay. What I like to see are Idols doing a trend they like. A Dance Cover of one of their favourite songs. Or a Song Cover. Or a Song recommendation. Something they wanted to show the fans that they like. Or just don't post on TikTok if it is not your thing. Not to say that these Contents don't exist, just that they are kinda rare, and I prefer them. submitted by /u/cat_girl10 [link] [comments]

being an idol can be a gamble. im sure many of you have heard of unhinged stories of the length companies would go to take in new trainees that capture their attention. most of the stories we heard are from debuted idols so it’s amazing everything plays out in their favor. but how about trainees that were dropped or had to drop because of the companies’ decisions? we rarely knew their stories. one that i just learned recently is sangwon. this is allegedly, clarified by his father himself and his friends. hes currently competing in the mnet survival show boys two planet. before, he was a trainee at bighit for 6 years. mind you, 6 years since he was 13 (2016)💀 bighit went to his school multiple times and even asked his dad to give sangwon to them. sangwon wasnt interested at first but his sister hyped him up and was super excited for him. he was also supposed to be in iland but that didnt happen and others suspected because bighit reserved him for their new bg, which back then was trainee A. stuff happened and two years later bighit cancelled the group, resulting in sangwon leaving the company along with the other members. then he decided altogether to stop chasing his dream to be an idol for 3 years. i just cant digest this without feeling emotional. 6 years are too long. i could have achieved two degrees certifications with that period. and this is only one story. how about the other trainees who might have trained way longer but never debuted? it’s just too disheartening. they barely have the time to enjoy their childhood only for them to realize they waste it all to a fake hope. jennie trained for 6 years, jihyo for 10 and johnny for 9. arent these crazy? all these hardships and when they finally debuted, they have to endure hate. it’s really not that fun when you think about it submitted by /u/ataraxia2406 [link] [comments]

I don't know what is it with fifth gen boy groups but holy shit some of them have been debuted with some of the worst names I've ever heard. I remembered not liking Zerobaseone at all with not only how lengthy it is but also just doesn't sounded very nice (also not helping the innuendo if you know chinese) but at least I've been warming up to it with the easier acronym for it (and thank god for that since they're my ults), but still would rather not put the full name of it. Then there's Project 7 group name... Close your eyes. Not even an actual name, just close your eyes. Can you imagine asking what's your favorite BG and then you answered close your eyes, and you do just that and go ok now what? Well at least CYE is a really nice acronym. Then there's also another group I happen to stan now and they're named Ahof. See what they stand for isn't so bad, but just try to read that out loud. Ahof. Sounds so rough I feel like coughing from saying it. And tbh I have still yet to warm up to the name, which is a shame considering I love all nine of them so much but their name is just not it. And finally we have Bighit's newest boy group. From the very same agency that brought you BTS and TXT, now we have... Cortis. Name that basically reminded me of coitus, which is not exactly something you would want to think about in a group where 4/5 of the members are younger than ZB1 Yujin. Seriously what is up with this kind of trend. It almost feels like they're just running out of words and try to make a new one that would vaguely sound like it would be a good name, but just sounded so off in the end. submitted by /u/EmanuelTheodorus [link] [comments]
I was a 16 year old watching these grown men in collars dancing around like they were bound up and buying their album with a slave contract in it. Not to mention the vibrating light stick "for starlight's pleasure" 💀 Still obsessed lol. submitted by /u/xlov_mother_muti [link] [comments]

As a hardcore MIDZY, I don't really know whether she wears hip pads all the time or has fillers/grafting, but sometimes she does look quite odd, especially standing next to her own members. But she looks happy with herself and is confident and I think that's all that matters. I know people keep mentioning the time she denied it by bringing up her 'u-go-girl' performance, and honestly I agree if it's so obvious she probably shouldn't have done that. But the constant hate is crazy, it's like one minute people are praising her figure and the next, they're bashing her for the same thing. There are so many nasty comments regarding her that are so disproportionate to the issue. If this is noise marketing by the company, JYPE have officially lost it but it's also working quite well. The girls are thriving with their spotify × fc barcelona collab, kpopped and their huge performance in Taipei, they don't need the only attention on them to be fueled by mean comments. But, Yuna's constant "controversy" over something so stupid keeps bringing attention (however negative) onto her, and then the group. She's pulled millions of views, viral posts, several brand deals and offers as the noise marketing keeps her relevant because sometimes your haters are also your biggest supporters. People don't realise that by making her body structure such a big deal, if this is a marketing strategy, she'll probably continue (to be a source of hate?). If it's not a marketing strategy, I genuinely hope she's happy because she's very unproblematic and seems like such a lovely person and it sucks to see people shaming her when she looks gorgeous either way. submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
BigHit just revealed their new bg's name, CORTIS. It's possible that it was short from "Color Outside the Lines". Got the pic from twt. Idk where they got it, seems like an insta story from staff. submitted by /u/oriverion [link] [comments]
