4.797. thinking about bts’ world tour and possible concert in india next year stresses me out 😭

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

it’s just me overthinking this plis understand 💔 idek where to start honestly, there’s a veryyyy high chance that bts will visit india, my country, on their next world tour, the thing is my parents have promised me that they will take me and my sister to bts’ concert whenever and wherever it happens, in india ofc (very very grateful for this) sometimes i get stressed out thinking about the entire process of attending a concert like HOW WILL I GET THE TICKETS 😭😭 how will i reach the venue 😭😭 i also feel scared yk like what if im not available when bts’ concert happens, what if my exams are going on, what if we don’t get any plane tickets, what if my engineering degree takes over my life by then 😭🙏 what if WHAT IF i don’t get to attend their concert bcs of any reason :( idek who i’ll go with, if i get the chance to go that is, my sister is young, im only 19, my parents will definitely not allow us to attend it alone, my cousin might accompany us but she’s not an army, and i wouldn’t feel comfortable with her being there bcs well bts chapter 2 is freaky 😔🙏 second thing is the idea of bts in india, i want them to know more about my nation, know about our cultures and heritage, visit the beautiful monuments, explore all the food traditions and all, but i know for sure that all the celebrities, bollywood mainly, will use them for clout, i can already imagine the influencers suddenly posting about how they love bts 💔 i mean jackson’s visit gave us a glimpse of this (kapil sharma im looking at you) i mean bts with orry ORRY ?????????? i just want them to have a nice experience here in my nation, i hope they meet the right kind of people whenever they come here, and i hope indian armys get to attend their concert and have a nice time, i know im overthinking so please take this lightly 😔🙏 submitted by /u/flwrbts [link] [comments]

4.798. Music is subjective in taste but objective in craft

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I keep seeing posts about how music is subjective, and calling a song good or bad is just about personal taste. Or that critiquing an artist’s music is about being a “hater”. But I have a different take on this - basically what the title says. You’re allowed to love any kind of music. Listen and love to whatever you like - hyperpop or noise music or death metal or bubblegum pop. But then music is also about craft. And craft is not just about taste or vibes. Craft can be judged. This is true for most art, but especially music which is one of the most commercialized and mass produced forms of art. Variety: If every song sounds like a remix of the last one, that’s not just a "signature sound", that's a formula. Artists who play with sub-genres, tempo and different types of instrumentation and song structures are doing more work, and are objectively better. Lyrics: Sure, not everything has to be deep. We can have fun bops that are just about being in the moment. But if an artist can also have meaningful lyrics? Then that's objectively better. Metaphors, storytelling, wordplay, emotional honesty all show more skill. Artistic involvement: Singers / rappers who write and produce their own music aren’t just performers they’re creators. If you’re involved in shaping the sound, the lyrics, the theme, you’re a more involved and better artist. If you’re showing up to sing what someone else wrote, and you’re a great singer / performer - that’s fine too. But it's not the same level of craft, and it’s ok to appreciate artistic involvement on its own (assuming the output quality of that artistic involvement is also good) Discography depth: Having a decent amount of depth in your discography to showcase your skills is objectively better. And over time there should be growth, experimentation and evolution in your discography to be considered a good artist. Performance skill: This is quite self explanatory. Pitch, voice control, hitting notes correctly, splitting bars while rapping, being able to sing / rap live without loud backtracks, delivering emotions - all of these are objective criteria that can be used to judge quality of music. Anyway, you can love a song that’s objectively kind of mid. I do too. And no one should judge you or me for it. But if we’re gonna talk about quality in music, we have to admit that some artists put in more effort, have more talent and show more complexity than others. And it’s ok to judge / critique artists based on the quality of their music. All this is to say - enjoy what you like. But don’t confuse subjective taste with objective quality of craft. What do you think? (I hope this doesn't ruffle any feathers but then who am I kidding) submitted by /u/sn0wcrysta1 [link] [comments]

4.801. Why do people stop listening to "older" groups?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As a kpop fan since 2016, i always am suprised to see groups who once were at the top of the industy to completly "lose" their hybe and even fans. Like when i got into kpop groups like EXO, Got7, Red Velvet.... were so big i couldn't even Image that there would be a time were the majority of kpop fans don't talk about them or even don't know them. BTS, Seventeen and Blackpink are the only "older" groups that are still consistened and still have a large fanbase. I know that the military service is a big problem in kpop, and most of the time it starts there. Like when a boy group goes to military many fans "move on" which is weird because their music is still good and the new songs that get realesed after the military are also still good but people just don't listen to them. I see so many fans say that "older" groups should stay in the past and that everyone should move on. This is something you don't see in the western world. It makes me wonder if big groups from today also have to go through this. I know that they can't keep the hybe around their name forever and once they have to go to military people also might move on to the next big thing. Like look at Stray kids or Aespa, the possible biggest newer groups there are, i can't see them lose their hybe and fans at all, but i wonder if kpop fans in a few years will also say "ah Stray kids is such an old group, we should leave them in 2025". I personally can't see it. Yet it did happen to many groups before them. submitted by /u/Injeolmie_04 [link] [comments]

4.807. TXT's Soobin just went on Radio Star (popular korean talk show) for the first time and people are falling head over heels for him

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Just like the title said, Soobin appeared on Radio Star today for the first time in 6 years and got a lot of attention for his variety show skills. For people who are unfamiliar with Radio Star, it is a talk show with 4 hosts, who tend to be very direct and sometimes messy towards their guests. They usually ask out of pocket questions or bring up sensitive topics. Soobin came with a rookie mindset to this show, who wanted to showcase his variety skills and even said to the hosts: "I like mischievous teasing so i hope you drive me crazy!! i hope you make me want to cry" 😭 Later on, there was a talk about how he became the leader of the group. This is what Soobin said: - I get along with people easily and they said that they thought i’d be a good bridge between the members and the company - The members are all very pure so they can’t openly express things so they said that i should be the representative person that does that - I don’t hesitate even while speaking to the company so they say that i’m the lee hongki of hybe (Lee Hongki of Ft. Island was another guest of the show) - Even before this filming, the managers told me to watch what i say, they said that they can’t come in with him so i need to choose my words wisely Therefore Hongki said, that he should be careful with what he says regarding contracts, to which Soobin answered: "It doesn’t matter, we’re currently in our contract renewal period so we hold the upper hand" 😂 the hosts were dying of laughter after this response. And the highlight of this episode, was him showing off his self acquired "Personal Skill" for the first time ever: Watermelon Eating Skill. He said, that whenever Idols come on the show, they usually have a talent in impersonating others, but he is not as confident in that skill, so he thought of something else. He said that he can eat a Watermelon Slice in under 3 sec, which sounds insane at first, but the video is kinda impressive. Even his members were confused and asked him why he would do all that in his 7th year as an idol 😭 Besides the stuff I mentioned above, he also talked about his members, touring, Resident Playbook (he and Yeonjun had a cameo on the show), Kpop Demon Hunters (how the Saja Boys were inspired by TXT and Yeonjun) and the upcoming comeback on July 21st!! Soobin was praised by the hosts for his variety show skills, "unique talent" and his witty responses and he is even going super viral right now in Korea!! submitted by /u/jacqui1997 [link] [comments]

4.809. Boy group fans or Girl group fans open minded

I was listening to the interview of the voice actors in K-pop Demon Hunters. One of them said, "I like BTS. If you ever get into K-pop, you should listen to BTS." Many people were like, "Why would you say that when the movie K-pop Demon Hunters is about uplifting women?" "Boy group fans are so men-centered." Most of them gg fans. (Not being rude, it's what I saw.) Two of my friends are girl group fans. Whenever I recommend a boy group song, they never like it. I just came across a tweet that wished Jisoo gets raped. I don’t even know how this became acceptable, but it needs to stop. I get disliking an idol, maybe an idol isn’t your cup of tea and that’s fine, but wishing them to get raped, beaten, killed, assaulted or whatever else is ABHORRENT AND DISGUSTING. Everyone in that fandom needs to hold their own accountable instead of dismissing them as a solo or “not a real fandom member.” Rant over. submitted by /u/CosmicCuriosity04 [link] [comments]
