1.057. Let people speak. Love for BTS doesn't mean staying silent

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm Army for 7 years now. But I’m getting tired of this part of the fandom that immediately shuts down any opinion that’s not rainbows and OT7 fairy dust Every time someone says: - HYBE made a bad decision - Protect Jungkook - The company should protect BTS - Maybe BTS deserve better It’s always the same reaction: You’re being negative Stop overthinking Trust BTS Don’t start drama Stop! Speaking truth isn’t hate. Asking questions isn’t betrayal. Wanting better treatment isn’t being a solo stan. You don’t get to shut people down just because it makes you uncomfortable Think about it like this: When you talk to a friend or family member and they did something that hurt or upset you, do you want them to silence you just because it makes them uncomfortable? No. You want to be heard. You want to express how you feel. It’s the same thing here You’re not helping BTS by pretending everything is perfect. You’re hurting them. And people are scared to say anything real. Where we can’t talk about mistreatment, missed opportunities, or unfair pressure without being called toxic If you love BTS, let fans have honest conversations. Let people question things. Let people want more for them. And most importantly, we need to call out these silencing behaviors when we see them, because if we don't, nothing will ever change Let us speak! p.s. also Happy 12th anniversary for BTS and ARMY💜 submitted by /u/No_365 [link] [comments]

1.058. BLACKPINK’s “Deadline” Tour Already Feels Like a Mess in the Making

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not gonna lie, I’m getting seriously bad vibes from this whole “Deadline” world tour. The tour starts in 3 weeks, and we’ve seen zero signs of group rehearsals — just solo sightings in random countries. There’s no teaser content, no promo, no setlist hints. For a stadium tour, that’s wild. It doesn’t help that the name “Deadline” feels like a farewell wrapped in a contract obligation. Born Pink already showed cracks — flat vocals, recycled sets, dead group energy — and it’s looking like this tour might repeat all of that, just with shinier lights. Yes, they’re professionals and might pull through on stage. But if they show up unprepared and disconnected again, fans aren’t going to stick around just because the fireworks are big. We’ve seen this before. We know better now. Anyone else feeling like this is a slow-motion crash disguised as a comeback? submitted by /u/Critical_Year_4762 [link] [comments]

1.062. 12 Year of BTS: A celebration of a rich discography

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Happy 12th anniversary, BTS! I have been reflecting on their journey and growth so much this week, and I can't help but be in awe of their story, artistry, achievements, and truly one-of-a-kind journey. No one could have guessed that this rookie boy group from a nearly bankrupt agency, a group that sold only 34 copies of their debut album on the first day, would go on to be the biggest group in the world right now, the third-best-selling artist of the past decade just behind Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny, and the 40th best-selling artist of all time. But beyond their historical achievements and numbers, I believe what cements BTS's legacy is their extensive and rich discography that touches on so many aspects of the human experience and that has expanded and evolved with them. BTS debuted with 2 Cool 4 Skool, the first part of their School Trilogy and within it, they explored and talked about the fears and struggles young kids and adolescents grapple with; the loss of dreams and hopes, the constant fear of the future and criticized the harsh school and education system that was in place. The trilogy perfectly captures the fire, the defiance, the confusion... that every teen feels. Their first full album, Dark & Wild, in the same vein, explores what it is to be a teen and especially a love-struck teen. The all-consuming crushes, the addiction to phones, and the fear of navigating the world around them while putting on a fake bravado to mask it all. Even the way the songs were produced and their sound was a reflection of that; the cheekiness, the faux-bravado, the anger that comes out sometimes, the bragging, the way they talk about love and relationship and dating..... feel so real to the early teen experience and are reflected in the way they sing and rap, their adlibs, and the way the songs are produced. It is also the album in which they pay homage to the culture that inspires them and their art. They follow this up with, in my opinion, one of the most influential album trilogy of all time, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Trilogy and they manage to truly capture the essence of young adults; through the songs, you can feel the angst, the loneliness, the burst of happiness, the unbridled freedom, the fears, the doubts but also the accompanying fearlessness when it comes to certain matters that we have all experienced during those times. You hear Run and the sound makes you equally nostalgic and equally untouchable, like you can fly and do anything, that bravado that you feel when you are young, the feeling of freedom that contrasts with this need to escape and be free. You hear Silver Spoon and that basically is a reflection of the youth and how opinionated they are and how they are ready to speak up, and its social commentary presented in such a cheeky way that you can't help but laugh and you go through each song and each one relates to a certain teen/YA experience. They then followed the trilogy with their conceptual album Wings (with You Never Walk Alone being a follow-up compilation album) which was an album inspired by the Herman Hess novel Demian and which gave each member the chance to explore and present their own personal stories. Wings and its title track Blood, Sweat, and Tears does justice to Demian, it also paints the temptations, the lust, and the growing pains of early adulthood. The production throughout the album also aligns with the theme, it is grand and uses a lot of orchestral elements giving the album a darker but also ethereal feel. They then followed Wings with the Love Yourself Trilogy which managed to capture so many different aspects of love across three albums. In Love Yourself: Her they focus on the early stages of falling in love, the dopamine, the happy feelings, thinking that everything is destiny, seeing only the good and the beautiful but that slowly morphed into loss of self and identity, self-depreciation, and toxicity in Love Yourself: Tear and they then wrap up the trilogy with Love Yourself: Answer in which they realize the highest form of love is loving oneself and embracing every part of yourself. They followed the Love Yourself trilogy with the Map Of The Soul series which is based on Jungian theory on archetypes and Murray Stein's book of the same name. In MOTS, BTS explores different topics aligning with each archetype (the persona, the shadow, and the ego). Topics such as insecurities, fame, personal identity, the way they present themselves to the world stage, the tension between their public and private selves, especially as idols as well as heavier topics such as loss of passion, burnout, depression, and the price of success were all core to the album series. They also tied this series with the Love Yourself Trilogy by exploring on how to embrace and accept all parts of themself. Their last studio album BE was an unplanned release that was a result of the pandemic and not surprisingly, captures the zeitgeist of that time. From the passing of time while the world seems like it is stuck in one space, to the restlessness that we all felt, to how we miss our loved ones and that human connection, to the bout of depression that we all have experienced because things felt bleak, and the quiet assurance that things would eventually get better, BE truly was an album that we all needed at that time. Their solo discography is just as solid and versatile, both in sound and in the themes it explores. You have albums packed with unfiltered anger and, at times, scathing responses to the ridicule they've faced over their idol personas, such as RM's mixtape RM and Yoongi's Agust D. You have albums that delve into their identities as individuals and artists, such as Indigo and Jack in the Box. Some albums like Hope on the Street celebrate their roots. There are deeply personal works that touch on mental health and emotional struggles, like FACE and the Agust D trilogy, while others serve as catharsis, like Right Person, Wrong Place and D-Day. You have albums that center on love, heartbreak, and longing, such as Layover, Golden, Happy, Muse, and Echo. Others explore themes of loneliness, sadness, and the weight of complex emotions like mono.. And then some albums like Indigo, similar to some of their earlier group albums, beautifully capture the turbulence and introspection of a timeframe such as your late twenties. And now, we have 6 out of the 7 members finished with their enlistment, with the OT7 reunion happening in just a week, and they will be embarking on the 3rd chapter of their journey soon! And I cannot wait to see what this new era will bring. Happy 12th anniversary, BTS, and Happy Festa, everyone! 💜 submitted by /u/Ghetto_Leda99 [link] [comments]

1.063. WOOAH would've killed it in 2025 with I Don't Miss U

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Random thought, but I suddenly remembered WOOAH's song I Don't Miss U and I couldn't believe that this song was released in 2020! At the time, I already thought that WOOAH was pretty progressive with their concept. It was the time when groups like aespa and STAYC freshly debuted and started shaping the upcoming generation. I kinda viewed WOOAH in a similar light, even though there was quite a gap in popularity. In terms of music genre, I Don't Miss U does fit in with that era of future bass tracks. I'm mostly talking about the whole vibe: it's a good blend of girl crush and teen crush. A group of carefree girls that young fans can look up to. I feel like they'd fit right in alongside groups like KiiiKiii and izna. It's a relatively short song as well, fitting with the current trend. I miss WOOAH! submitted by /u/RoyalNinetales [link] [comments]

1.066. What specific content from Idols do you like to watch?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The are a couple of the things I love to watch and look for in all the groups I listen to and watch is: PC Bang/Video Game content. Its always fun to see them being in a different environment. Some being more competitive like Minju from Illit or a good amount of the guys from Seventeen or Sakura from LSF. Behind The Scenes/Vlogs of my Local City/Concert. I enjoy watching idols going about on their day off or doing content in my own city. I always found it funny and almost recurring at the places they go to in my city, Los Angeles. They'll usually hit up Grand Central Market, Santa Monica Beach and Pier, The Grove, Target, etc. Recording Behind of my favorite tracks. I enjoy watching the different ways or direction a song could have been in the recording process. I feel like I learn something new each time and their different approaches/techniques. MV filming behind the scenes. I work a lot in the entertainment industry and its just fun for me to see the differences and similarities in how Korea does their MV with the crew, lighting, equipment, and just how they do their day. I find myself looking in the background after the 2nd watch as I'm just a gear oriented person xd. submitted by /u/Ickhart [link] [comments]

1.067. Which 4th gen song is going to be the next "Gee/ITNW" or "Cheer Up"?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Basically the song which is going to get covered a lot by the upcoming groups. Since both Gee and Cheer up are like very girly songs so I think its going to be smh similar to them but I don't think we have any hit song like that from 4th gen. But still I would say - New Jeans's hype boy or Ditto Ive's love dive Honestly I really can't think of much songs , since most of the hit 4th gen GG songs aren't really girly like there is Supernova and Queencard but I don't think they're going to get covered a lot?? Hype boy is definitely the strongest contender. Ik it's too early to say that but for 5th gen I think it's going to be Magnetic. Again I know it's tooooo early to say that. submitted by /u/Adventurous-Dog5560 [link] [comments]

1.068. Inter-fandom grievances have cemented and permeated all discussions regarding this specific group due to certain fandoms.

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

To start off, I won't be namedropping the groups or fandoms since that's begging for fan-wars in the comments which I am avoiding and trying to address. These are only my observations over the years and my interpretation as to how these conditions formed. Nothing what I'm saying here is meant to be accusations. I'm simply sharing my observations and trying to discuss the mechanisms that are at play so bare with me as I use general language to keep things as neutral as possible. Group A's overall reputation, engagement, and challenges have always been... contentious within the K-pop subreddit communities. Additionally, their fandom (Fandom A) are treated in a particularly biased manner. In general, K-pop fans will agree that fan-wars are stupid and that no one instance of a fan in whatever fandom should treated as being representative of said fandom. K-pop stan twitter is infamous for its toxicity which is practical an unspoken fact for any self-described K-pop fan. All in all, most K-pop fans can recognize when something is toxic and unreasonable. This will be the basis of the POV that I'm trying to view things from. Yet, the issue I'm addressing with this post is that these common sense beliefs are suspended when Group A or Fandom A becomes the topic, especially when it comes to discussions centered around issues that affect them. Whether it's because people don't notice it, don't want to notice it or can't address it effectively, many people under Fandom A simply do not discuss or engage in Group A posts given their particular treatment which further compounds this issue due these observations that I've noticed over the years. The users engaged in posts regarding Group A or Fandom A, not all but a significant amount, have consistently engaged in a manner that dismisses, counters, or even intentionally derails the discussions. I would go as far as say that there's almost a coordinated response whenever issues regarding Group A or Fandom A flairs up. I'm talking about recurring users, users so consistent in commenting under such posts that I can recognize their usernames, I can recognize the narratives being pushed and worst yet, I can see the insistent fan-war grievances that are being alluded to. Obligatory disclaimer that my observations are not meant to generalize said fandoms. That's besides the point. These are directed at specific users or at a larger level, exclusive to toxic fans. If you're not toxic, this doesn't apply to you and it is not directed or hinted at you in any way. Again, I'm simply trying to discuss behaviors and tendencies that I've seen on reddit. These users are from Fandoms B and C and some common behaviors and characteristics that I see appear over and over again and are as follows. Fandom B are very engaged and present in most, if not all posts, regarding Group A whether it be in the K-pop or pop subreddits to the point where they're uncontested. Their engagement and seemingly up-to-date awareness of all issues within Group A and Fandom A makes me suspect that they're drawing all this information and frankly, fan-war nonsense outside of the K-pop reddit sphere. Similarly, Fandom C also has a tendency to bring up fan-war grudges and take any opportunity to ridicule Fandom A. Their contempt for Fandom A is open and often supported by others. There are other factors at play to but I won't discuss those since it'll widen the scope of this post too much. Unfortunately, the consequence of all this is that many posts regarding Group A or Fandom A will get dismissed, ignored, or aggressively countered. Posts and discussions where the issues they face get brought up and gain traction will get derailed to the point of a locked thread or post removal. On top of that, many Fandom A users simply won't engage because the overwhelming response to them will drown out their comment which only makes the issue compound and become worse and worse. The fan-wars brought up whenever Group A is mentioned is so prevalent that it's practically normalized now and no attempts to try and discuss it have been successful. submitted by /u/Sooyaa_Yah_Boombayah [link] [comments]

A few days ago, as my summer break was getting close, even though I still have exams, I decided to watch RUNext here and there, to pass time! Illit is One of my favorite groups After all, so I thought why not! I had already watched Iland 2 on Tiktok and the last 2 episodes complete! . WHY DID I DECIDED TO DO THAT 😭 Im not someone who should watch this kind of stuff! It made me so stressed, so sad, my heart was rlly racing (ik Im anxious but wow) so I stoped Middle episode 3, After the first elimination . I couldnt help but Feel bad for the girls all the time! Well it had parts I genuinely enjoyed! Them being Nice to each other, conplementing performances and outfits, helping One another, but also made me uncomfortable to watch them sad, stressed, trying to fight for their spot, some seeing the pressure and wanting to give up, others ending up stuck in egocentric thoughts and defending their spot a bit to much, I think this kind of stuff is not for me. . Ill DEFF watch the rest of the performances though, I don't want to miss that! But Ill leave the Middle to the past and enjoy Illit now and cheer for the other girls in which ever Path they choose! . What about you? 🩷 submitted by /u/Yuna_buns [link] [comments]

1.073. ITZY's message is so beautiful and consistent

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Bet On Me: Believing in yourself. When you're not quite sure you can do it, and you're not sure if everyone else will approve, you stay confident in you. You can do it! It's okay to mess up sometimes, to make mistakes and fail. What's important is that you get back up. It's okay to be afraid. Just believe in yourself, even if no one else will. Bet on you. Sugar-holic: Some days are harder than others, and that's okay. It's okay if you can't accomplish everything you want to. Count your blessings instead. It's another new day, and you're still making progress. It doesn't matter how much, progress is progress, you've done a good job. There's a brightside in every situation. When you get used to finding it, finding those little things, you'll feel much better, even when you stumble and fall. Appreciate yourself. Sneakers: Running means freedom. It's how you express yourself. So what if other people think you're weird? Why should you care what they think? Make your own way forward. Live your life on your terms, in a way only you can. They say you can't dance? They say your voice is terrible? They call you a pick-me? They say your performance is cringe? They say your music sucks? I say who gives a damn! Put your sneakers on, and go your own way! You'll make it to the top no matter what they say! Itzy has many beautiful songs, but the core message is the same. Dare to be different. Dare to be you in every way. Be crazy in love, be untouchable, be confident, know what you want, know who you are. You're on fire! You're the toughest, most awesome guy/gal around! Don't be shy, put your crown on your head! Learn to love yourself and see the person you become. Be unashamedly you, because if you won't be, who will? Look in the mirror and who do you see? 1.074. Need to talk about how misogynistic kpop fans are towards armys

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

6/7 Bts members were discharged yesterday and quite literally 95% of the fandom was just focusing on bts and their weverse lives. May I know the reason why kpop fans, especially on reddit villainize armys for what 2% of the fandom and solos do? Why are armys called every name under the book while claiming themselves to be "feminists"? No, stanning a girl group will not make you a feminist, bringing up a fandom filled with women of all ages and blaming them for every single thing actually makes you a misogynist. So many K-pop fans will claim to be feminist or progressive until it comes to BTS or armys. Then suddenly it’s open season to tear women down because they dared to love something unapologetically. No one's saying all armys are angels, but you guys sure do paint all armys as devils submitted by /u/blueblah1221 [link] [comments]
