1.037. What is up with SM and their incompetent handling of Super Junior's 20th anniversary activities?

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I know SM is incompetent and they don't really seem to care about their older groups in general, but for such a monumental milestone that very few groups have reached for a group that still has a sizeable fanbase, for an anniversary all the members are so excited for, what is SM doing? In the months leading up to the comeback which'll be on July 8, the members have all talked about how excited they were for the comeback and the following tour. They've promised really big and ambitious things, and have hinted at wanting to go to places to meet fans where they haven't been before. SJ's biggest fanbases are in East/South-East Asia and in Latin America, which is why they always go there for every single "world" tour they have, but they still have sizeable fanbases in other parts of the world, notably the Middle East, North America, Europe and even Oceania. The last proper world tour was SS9 (2022-23), and according to some members like Ryeowook, Australia and Canada were on the stops but didn't make the final list because of scheduling issues. Apparently, it was also planned that the US would have around 2-3 stops, but that fell apart too. SS9 ended up just being a tour with an Asia leg and a Latin America leg. In 2023, Super Junior-D&E had a small fanparty tour and went to places SJ hadn't been to before like Australia (two stops), Canada, New Zealand, etc. And even though they had a really terrible promoter to the point where so many fans didn't even know they came, they all relatively sold well and Donghae and Eunhyuk promised they'd come back and bring the whole group with them to Australia and Canada. Now jump to 2025, and it's SJ's 20th anniversary tour that all the members have been hyping up. Members like Shindong have said the tour is going to be long (around 7-8 months), so it made a lot of people excited that the tour length probably meant they'd go to more tour stops. At SMTOWN LA, they hinted that they were looking at an LA stop for SS10. Then yesterday, they dropped the tour list, and from August 2025 - April 2026, there will be 16 stops overall - and surprise! Four stops will be in Latin America (two of which in the same country), and the rest are just in Asia. No North America, Europe, Oceania. Not even the Middle East when they're one of the most popular groups there and made history as the first group to hold a solo con in Saudi if I recall correctly? Maybe I shouldn't have been clinging onto a promise from 2 years ago from a duo who had left SM by then, but the lack of a single North American or Europe stop in particular is really shocking, especially when NA ELF form a huge chunk of attendees whenever SJ have a 15 min appearance at SMTOWN/any other festival, and when SJ is skipping SMTOWN London where most European ELF were hoping to see them. No Middle East, and the Latin America leg doesn't even include Brazil? No Vietnam, where SJ concerts and their subunit performances sell out and sell well? It literally just feels like it's last year's last-minute, rushed cashgrab Asia tour, plus the Latin American stops. I've been seeing complaints that SM isn't picking the usual big venues for their Asia stops as well, when they know they're going to sell out in minutes there. Mexico's venues are also apparently really small and unsafe. From what I've heard, according to a few promoter sources, SM negotiated for these venues and booked them really late, and for Brazil in particular, they were going to put Brazil on the list, but promoters couldn't afford them because SM jacked up costs and charged exorbitant priced for the promoters. Like sure, the Western fanbases for example aren't as noticeable as Mexico's or Japan's, but I'm sure we (and SJ) would've been fine with a much smaller venue that wasn't a 20k stadium like in Asia. I just know SJ are seething because they've always been transparent about wanting to go to new places and meet all their fans. They've even acknowledged how fans from all over the world travel just to see them because they never go to them. At the end of the day me stating the obvious won't change anything and I'm still (delusion) hoping for another set of announcements but it's not looking likely. Because if they're not going anywhere else beyond SS10 they'll never come. I know Super Shows are a quick and easy way to get free money for SM because they always sell out (see Spin-Off last year lmao), I know SM don't care for SJ beyond that which is why they were so late and rushed with booking everything, but I'd imagine they'd at least care a bit more for the 20th anniversary of all events. I already saw some ELF whose cities are on the list getting mad at other fans for being upset that their cities aren't on the list... submitted by /u/admiralmasa [link] [comments]

1.038. Jimin posted on Instagram after TWO YEARS!! 😭

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Jimin with now most BTS members is BACK!! It feels so unreal that Jimin did NOT post anything at all on his Instagram for straight TWO YEARS! 😭 Just barely two weverse posts, it feels weird because while others were also enlisted they at least updated us on their Instagram accounts, Jimin really took military seriously because he was posted at the most difficult unit at NK border at the FRONT LINES! And guess what he ACED that too😭 To think that PARK JIMIN aced driving a military tank and recieved multiple highest awards he even achieved CBRN-E (Chemical biological radiological nuclear and explosives) THA'S A KPOP IDOL?????? đŸ€Ż Not romanticizing military but this just blew my mind how he went and became this unimaginably perfect at everything to the point it's scary bc he's unstoppable quite literally. Now coming to another point which came to my mind right as I am writing this, armys underestimated Jimin so much despite him being pro martial artist and having the best core strength and the best mental and said he is weak and he needs protection etc and they were naming other members that'll overachieve in the military and now TWO years later Jimin literally overachieved in the miltary and endured every possible harshest conditions and came back saying it has its charm JIMIN THE MAN YOU ARE, and on top of that he showed empathy and asked us to show empathy to the military soldiers. đŸ„ș He also became popular among his comrades some are even calling him "Dad" lol he babied them and took care of them. Ahhh I can't believe we actually got over sever Jimin draught and he's back bot to mention back looking even younger and he finally posted on Instagram 😭😭😭😭 submitted by /u/Affectionate_Cap8353 [link] [comments]

1.039. if theres one thing all fandoms should agree on, it’s that solo stans need to be a dye-ing breed.

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Agree to disagree but Im standing ten toes down on my opinion of solos in every fandom, even armys (yeah im an army idgaf) who solo stan other idol groups. Theres an army to solo pipeline because of this. Ive been inactive in Kpop for a while, mostly focusing on Bts. But scrolling through my feed now that they’re almost complete is exhausting, I curated it to be as peaceful as possible on all platforms but it isn’t enough. Do I really need to see this bs on my for you page? So many solo accounts are popping out with thousands of followers and likes and its making me sick that people are actually bigoted and project so much of themselves into their “fav” to be their “kinny”. I remember solos barely existing in 2018 and suddenly theres a boom rn. How do you decide to stan 5 groups with 15 members each and then be a solo stan for another. They act like the only backbone to their favs career by supporting everything fav puts out wether it be official, unofficial, private, or public info, but except for that ones that my members helped work on! cause apparently their friendship isn’t real? I know every fandom that exists is toxic af but I genuinely believe solos do not have real life friends, you hateeee hate hate a person your fav is close with on the daily, but yeah, let’s perform a microanalysis on every movement, post, interaction, and make out own narrative. Its not just bts solo stans, ive seen txt solo stans too? Theres so many shady posts on IG towards another but the worst Ive seen is of Jmn of bts always being the target of death, rap3, s3xual harassment, being compared to an animal, purposefully misgendered, and transphobic, misogynistic posts, and AI p0rn. With hundred to thousands of likes from and solos alike. How do you live life thinking that way, cause no way you treat people irl like that, do yall not have any friends or social life? and it’s scary cause these solos will actually go to official fan event sites and write shady stuff on the walls for the artist to see, and then be the first mfs to spread private info and encourage stalking. If you talk to them like a normal person explaining why theyre a bigot, they’ll either gaslight and pull sht out of their ass and create a whole new fan fiction on the spot. I noticed that many solos are abundant in a certain demographic who are not native english speakers and live in a conservative country so maybe they wouldn’t get it? but even then Im also in that demographic and dont have that nasty ass behaviour. We have them here in the US too and they certainly dgaf about being a bigot. Its coming to a point that even the “peaceful” solo stans are resharing, rting, and kekeing with those same anti solo stans. Now have this habit of checking who I interact with and it’s depressing to find out they’re a sick solo. I have so much more to yap on about this but it’s just frustrating and atp the only thing that might stop them is that everyone comes together for 5 minutes and mass report (not really working though) or expose their behaviours irl. /hj submitted by /u/Automatic_Spot_646 [link] [comments]

1.040. HYBE and MHJ’s shareholders lawsuit made me realise something

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This will probably be removed not long after it’s posted but I’m gonna write about it anyway! I also wasn’t quite sure which tag this falls under since it fans under ‘thought’, ‘rant’, and ‘speculation’, but I chose rant because of how long this is. With the reports that came out yesterday about the lawsuit between Hybe and MHJ’s shareholders agreement, there was a bit that I didn’t take too seriously that I now realise IS kinda important. When Hybe’s side brought up the poaching/stealing NJs argument as part of why they terminated the shareholders agreement, MHJ’s side argued that MHJ didn’t have enough time to steal NJs, and they emphasised that she didn’t have enough time AFTER the audit, her removal as CEO, and resignation to poach them. But Hybe’s argument has never been that she tried to steal them after the audit; it always been BEFORE the audit, her removal, and resignation happened. All the evidence Hybe has submitted (so far) has been before the audit took place, not after; specifically, the KKT messages, emails and documents from as early as January 2024 to March/April 2024, and the KKT messages with her Shaman doing as far back as 2020/21. From April when the audit happened, to November when she quit, that’s 7 months. That’s plenty of time to whip up a poaching plan. But I remembered that we know from Dispatch’s December 2024 exclusive that MHJ met with DavoLink’s Chairman/CEO at both the DavoLink building AND at Chairman Park’s personal home in Cheongnam-dong in September 2024, with Mr. B present. Thanks to MHJ’s oversight, we found out that Mr. B is Hyein’s uncle through a conversation she had with Chosun Biz reporter Jang Woojeong in January 2025. We also know now that MHJ knew about NJs September 2024 emergency press conference since a guilty conscience parent leaked the messages to Dispatch. Additionally, we know that MHJ met with the mothers of NewJeans on September 24th, 2024, just one day before NJs 1st ‘bring MHJ back’ deadline, with a Sejong lawyer present. Park Jungkyu’s (DavoLink’s Chairman) exclusive interview with TenAsia in January this year gave us insight into what they actually discussed at those meetings in September, including plans to set up a new company, funding, investments and how to remove NJs from Hybe/ADOR. The Chairman went as far as to say that as soon as Mr. B called MHJ on speakerphone, she immediately asked if the investment discussion between Mr. B and himself had gone well, suggesting that MHJ knew about Mr. B’s investment offer to Chairman Park, i.e. she was in on it. MHJ did all of this while still being an internal director in ADOR. All this happened around September/October 2024 time. MHJ didn’t resign until November 20th, 2024. She WAS actively seeking out investors for a new company for NewJeans while still being a Hybe director. She WAS planning on poaching NewJeans. Hybe are exactly right to say that MHJ’s side are moving to block them from submitting KKT messages as evidence because they’re scared about the messages’ content since they KNOW that MHJ was looking at outside investors and buyers willing to take on and help steal NJs from Hybe/ADOR. Hybe are so fortunate that nobody took the risk. Now. Here me out here
I believe that MHJ has been planning on stealing NJs since Hybe’s very first meetings about a new girl group. It would explain the entire reason why she went from being 120% into the idea to suddenly demanding that her power over the project be elevated from branding to music management to performance management, demanding the removal of BSH as producer, the lazy prep of the branding documents that she delayed handing over, to eventually demanding that the project be handed over to her and a new company be made for her; delaying NJs debut and planting seeds of doubt in NJs’ heads about Hybe management with her “well they were so incompetent and didn’t have your best interest at heart, that’s why they delayed your debut. But don’t worry, mummy will look after you now” sob story that NJs, as children, would’ve fallen for being so far away from their own parents. NJs would’ve debuted with an immediate distrust of Hybe and Hybe executives with that bs sob story, and they would’ve been paranoid and distrustful of every decision Hybe made, even if it was a routine decision or action that any company would’ve taken or done. It would also explain why NJs have kicked up such a fuss about Le Sserafim’s debut and their Louis Vuitton ambassadorship. MHJ gaslit them into believing Hybe gave up on their debut for LSF, a problem that SHE HERSELF, caused. I can easily imagine that it would’ve left NJs feeling so bitter and angry, and then Hybe to accepting and “”stealing”” NJs LV ambassadorship for LSF, well that just happened to fall perfectly for MHJ and her eventual goal of removing NJs. Couple all of that with MHJ’s overbearing mother complex, constant gaslighting and ego stroking over 2/3 years, you now have a group of spoilt, petulant, egotistical young adults and teenagers who think they can do what they please because they’re better than everyone else because MHJ said so. NewJeans will just continue to follow MHJ like a lamb to the slaughter. They’re following her blindly with their eyes and ears closed and eventually, they’re going reach the edge of the cliff. They’ll open their eyes, look down, and stare the dark abyss right in the face and suddenly, MHJ won’t be there for them anymore because she’ll be behind them, shoving them off it with a big grin on her face before running off gleefully. And it’ll be during that fall to the bottom that they’ll realise exactly what kind of woman she is, but by then, it’ll be too late and Hybe/ADOR won’t come to their rescue. I’m not trying to strip NJs of responsibility with this rant/discussion, they are 100% responsibly for the decisions they’ve made. At any point from August/September-ish time to now, they could’ve pulled their lawsuits and returned to ADOR. They’ve had plenty of time to reflect on the choices they made and realise just how badly they messed up, but they haven’t. They’ve chosen this path, and they’re going to have to walk it alone when the story ends, but it this does explain a lot of the strange behaviour NJs have been exhibiting since MHJ’s departure. Though, it really does sicken me that their parents are happily sitting back and watching, even encourging, their daughters to run head first into their demise. Anyway. It’s an interesting thing to think about even if I’m way off base. submitted by /u/ThenSpeech6 [link] [comments]

1.041. Le Sserafim IS Fearless and 2024 - 2025 proves it

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The LSF hate train is over (it is, right?), but like any hate train, it's hard to forget the things that were said. One talking point I saw often was how LSF were frauds because they didn't match their concept. Antis would see their reactions to the visceral hate they sent them and interpret it as not staying true to their image. "How are we supposed to buy their concept when they're so afraid of criticism?" My question is, how could anyone have been more fearless than them? As a group and as individuals, they faced a deluge of hate. The excuses varied - can't sing, Starbucks, evil step sisters, yadda yadda yadda - but the truth is that they didn't deserve what happened to them. As fans or spectators, it's easy enough to ignore the hate. Just mute and block, find an echo chamber that suits our tastes, or take a break all together. LSF didn't have that option. They turned off their comments, but online presence is integral to a group's success. LSF saw all the "nice" things people had to say about them. Sure, there were plenty of fake concern posts about how the entire group should go on hiatus for a year because their reputation was too unsalvagable. Of course, what these people really wanted was for LSF to lay down and die. To slowly fade from relevancy and never come back. But these people either didn't know or completely forgot what Le Sserafim stands for. The truth is, everyone is afraid sometimes. We all have fears, and Le Sserafim was open about theirs. They were raw, they were real. They got backlash for it, but they never stopped being true to themselves. They never stopped expressing their thoughts, desires, and flaws. They never stopped loving themselves. They never stopped. And that pissed people off. They were hated for not caving to the mob. They were hated for conquering the greatest of obstacles, for never giving up. That's what fearlessness is all about. Its more than not being afraid. It's looking your fears in the eye and overcoming them. That's what Le Sserafim did and still does. All 5 of those girls can confidently say everyday, "I'm Fearless." Their journey has been inspiring to watch. Le Sserafim is Fearless! Wanna make something of it? submitted by /u/SageSageofSages [link] [comments]

1.042. K-pop idols nowadays care so much about charts

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I saw that ITZY’s Yuna said she doesn’t care how successful their comeback is and that it’s more about the art of it and honestly, that was so refreshing to hear. In an industry where everything seems to revolve around charts, streams, and numbers, it stood out in the best way. These days, especially with 3rd and some 4th gen idols, there’s such a heavy focus on chart rankings and digital stats. It feels like success is only valid if it’s backed by big numbers, and that mindset can suck the fun and creativity out of music sometimes. Not saying chart success isn’t important, but it’s nice to hear a few idols still talk about passion and artistry first. submitted by /u/Narrow_Start_5340 [link] [comments]

I'm Army for 7 years now. But I’m getting tired of this part of the fandom that immediately shuts down any opinion that’s not rainbows and OT7 fairy dust Every time someone says: - HYBE made a bad decision - Protect Jungkook - The company should protect BTS - Maybe BTS deserve better It’s always the same reaction: You’re being negative Stop overthinking Trust BTS Don’t start drama Stop! Speaking truth isn’t hate. Asking questions isn’t betrayal. Wanting better treatment isn’t being a solo stan. You don’t get to shut people down just because it makes you uncomfortable Think about it like this: When you talk to a friend or family member and they did something that hurt or upset you, do you want them to silence you just because it makes them uncomfortable? No. You want to be heard. You want to express how you feel. It’s the same thing here You’re not helping BTS by pretending everything is perfect. You’re hurting them. And people are scared to say anything real. Where we can’t talk about mistreatment, missed opportunities, or unfair pressure without being called toxic If you love BTS, let fans have honest conversations. Let people question things. Let people want more for them. And most importantly, we need to call out these silencing behaviors when we see them, because if we don't, nothing will ever change Let us speak! p.s. also Happy 12th anniversary for BTS and ARMY💜 submitted by /u/No_365 [link] [comments]

1.045. BLACKPINK’s “Deadline” Tour Already Feels Like a Mess in the Making

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not gonna lie, I’m getting seriously bad vibes from this whole “Deadline” world tour. The tour starts in 3 weeks, and we’ve seen zero signs of group rehearsals — just solo sightings in random countries. There’s no teaser content, no promo, no setlist hints. For a stadium tour, that’s wild. It doesn’t help that the name “Deadline” feels like a farewell wrapped in a contract obligation. Born Pink already showed cracks — flat vocals, recycled sets, dead group energy — and it’s looking like this tour might repeat all of that, just with shinier lights. Yes, they’re professionals and might pull through on stage. But if they show up unprepared and disconnected again, fans aren’t going to stick around just because the fireworks are big. We’ve seen this before. We know better now. Anyone else feeling like this is a slow-motion crash disguised as a comeback? submitted by /u/Critical_Year_4762 [link] [comments]

1.049. 12 Year of BTS: A celebration of a rich discography

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Happy 12th anniversary, BTS! I have been reflecting on their journey and growth so much this week, and I can't help but be in awe of their story, artistry, achievements, and truly one-of-a-kind journey. No one could have guessed that this rookie boy group from a nearly bankrupt agency, a group that sold only 34 copies of their debut album on the first day, would go on to be the biggest group in the world right now, the third-best-selling artist of the past decade just behind Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny, and the 40th best-selling artist of all time. But beyond their historical achievements and numbers, I believe what cements BTS's legacy is their extensive and rich discography that touches on so many aspects of the human experience and that has expanded and evolved with them. BTS debuted with 2 Cool 4 Skool, the first part of their School Trilogy and within it, they explored and talked about the fears and struggles young kids and adolescents grapple with; the loss of dreams and hopes, the constant fear of the future and criticized the harsh school and education system that was in place. The trilogy perfectly captures the fire, the defiance, the confusion... that every teen feels. Their first full album, Dark & Wild, in the same vein, explores what it is to be a teen and especially a love-struck teen. The all-consuming crushes, the addiction to phones, and the fear of navigating the world around them while putting on a fake bravado to mask it all. Even the way the songs were produced and their sound was a reflection of that; the cheekiness, the faux-bravado, the anger that comes out sometimes, the bragging, the way they talk about love and relationship and dating..... feel so real to the early teen experience and are reflected in the way they sing and rap, their adlibs, and the way the songs are produced. It is also the album in which they pay homage to the culture that inspires them and their art. They follow this up with, in my opinion, one of the most influential album trilogy of all time, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Trilogy and they manage to truly capture the essence of young adults; through the songs, you can feel the angst, the loneliness, the burst of happiness, the unbridled freedom, the fears, the doubts but also the accompanying fearlessness when it comes to certain matters that we have all experienced during those times. You hear Run and the sound makes you equally nostalgic and equally untouchable, like you can fly and do anything, that bravado that you feel when you are young, the feeling of freedom that contrasts with this need to escape and be free. You hear Silver Spoon and that basically is a reflection of the youth and how opinionated they are and how they are ready to speak up, and its social commentary presented in such a cheeky way that you can't help but laugh and you go through each song and each one relates to a certain teen/YA experience. They then followed the trilogy with their conceptual album Wings (with You Never Walk Alone being a follow-up compilation album) which was an album inspired by the Herman Hess novel Demian and which gave each member the chance to explore and present their own personal stories. Wings and its title track Blood, Sweat, and Tears does justice to Demian, it also paints the temptations, the lust, and the growing pains of early adulthood. The production throughout the album also aligns with the theme, it is grand and uses a lot of orchestral elements giving the album a darker but also ethereal feel. They then followed Wings with the Love Yourself Trilogy which managed to capture so many different aspects of love across three albums. In Love Yourself: Her they focus on the early stages of falling in love, the dopamine, the happy feelings, thinking that everything is destiny, seeing only the good and the beautiful but that slowly morphed into loss of self and identity, self-depreciation, and toxicity in Love Yourself: Tear and they then wrap up the trilogy with Love Yourself: Answer in which they realize the highest form of love is loving oneself and embracing every part of yourself. They followed the Love Yourself trilogy with the Map Of The Soul series which is based on Jungian theory on archetypes and Murray Stein's book of the same name. In MOTS, BTS explores different topics aligning with each archetype (the persona, the shadow, and the ego). Topics such as insecurities, fame, personal identity, the way they present themselves to the world stage, the tension between their public and private selves, especially as idols as well as heavier topics such as loss of passion, burnout, depression, and the price of success were all core to the album series. They also tied this series with the Love Yourself Trilogy by exploring on how to embrace and accept all parts of themself. Their last studio album BE was an unplanned release that was a result of the pandemic and not surprisingly, captures the zeitgeist of that time. From the passing of time while the world seems like it is stuck in one space, to the restlessness that we all felt, to how we miss our loved ones and that human connection, to the bout of depression that we all have experienced because things felt bleak, and the quiet assurance that things would eventually get better, BE truly was an album that we all needed at that time. Their solo discography is just as solid and versatile, both in sound and in the themes it explores. You have albums packed with unfiltered anger and, at times, scathing responses to the ridicule they've faced over their idol personas, such as RM's mixtape RM and Yoongi's Agust D. You have albums that delve into their identities as individuals and artists, such as Indigo and Jack in the Box. Some albums like Hope on the Street celebrate their roots. There are deeply personal works that touch on mental health and emotional struggles, like FACE and the Agust D trilogy, while others serve as catharsis, like Right Person, Wrong Place and D-Day. You have albums that center on love, heartbreak, and longing, such as Layover, Golden, Happy, Muse, and Echo. Others explore themes of loneliness, sadness, and the weight of complex emotions like mono.. And then some albums like Indigo, similar to some of their earlier group albums, beautifully capture the turbulence and introspection of a timeframe such as your late twenties. And now, we have 6 out of the 7 members finished with their enlistment, with the OT7 reunion happening in just a week, and they will be embarking on the 3rd chapter of their journey soon! And I cannot wait to see what this new era will bring. Happy 12th anniversary, BTS, and Happy Festa, everyone! 💜 submitted by /u/Ghetto_Leda99 [link] [comments]

1.050. WOOAH would've killed it in 2025 with I Don't Miss U

Random thought, but I suddenly remembered WOOAH's song I Don't Miss U and I couldn't believe that this song was released in 2020! At the time, I already thought that WOOAH was pretty progressive with their concept. It was the time when groups like aespa and STAYC freshly debuted and started shaping the upcoming generation. I kinda viewed WOOAH in a similar light, even though there was quite a gap in popularity. In terms of music genre, I Don't Miss U does fit in with that era of future bass tracks. I'm mostly talking about the whole vibe: it's a good blend of girl crush and teen crush. A group of carefree girls that young fans can look up to. I feel like they'd fit right in alongside groups like KiiiKiii and izna. It's a relatively short song as well, fitting with the current trend. • reddit.com language

The are a couple of the things I love to watch and look for in all the groups I listen to and watch is: PC Bang/Video Game content. Its always fun to see them being in a different environment. Some being more competitive like Minju from Illit or a good amount of the guys from Seventeen or Sakura from LSF. Behind The Scenes/Vlogs of my Local City/Concert. I enjoy watching idols going about on their day off or doing content in my own city. I always found it funny and almost recurring at the places they go to in my city, Los Angeles. They'll usually hit up Grand Central Market, Santa Monica Beach and Pier, The Grove, Target, etc. Recording Behind of my favorite tracks. I enjoy watching the different ways or direction a song could have been in the recording process. I feel like I learn something new each time and their different approaches/techniques. MV filming behind the scenes. I work a lot in the entertainment industry and its just fun for me to see the differences and similarities in how Korea does their MV with the crew, lighting, equipment, and just how they do their day. I find myself looking in the background after the 2nd watch as I'm just a gear oriented person xd. submitted by /u/Ickhart [link] [comments]

Basically the song which is going to get covered a lot by the upcoming groups. Since both Gee and Cheer up are like very girly songs so I think its going to be smh similar to them but I don't think we have any hit song like that from 4th gen. But still I would say - New Jeans's hype boy or Ditto Ive's love dive Honestly I really can't think of much songs , since most of the hit 4th gen GG songs aren't really girly like there is Supernova and Queencard but I don't think they're going to get covered a lot?? Hype boy is definitely the strongest contender. Ik it's too early to say that but for 5th gen I think it's going to be Magnetic. Again I know it's tooooo early to say that. submitted by /u/Adventurous-Dog5560 [link] [comments]

1.055. Inter-fandom grievances have cemented and permeated all discussions regarding this specific group due to certain fandoms.

To start off, I won't be namedropping the groups or fandoms since that's begging for fan-wars in the comments which I am avoiding and trying to address. These are only my observations over the years and my interpretation as to how these conditions formed. Nothing what I'm saying here is meant to be accusations. I'm simply sharing my observations and trying to discuss the mechanisms that are at play so bare with me as I use general language to keep things as neutral as possible. Group A's overall reputation, engagement, and challenges have always been... contentious within the K-pop subreddit communities. Additionally, their fandom (Fandom A) are treated in a particularly biased manner. In general, K-pop fans will agree that fan-wars are stupid and that no one instance of a fan in whatever fandom should treated as being representative of said fandom. K-pop stan twitter is infamous for its toxicity which is practical an unspoken fact for any self-described K-pop fan. All in all, most K-pop fans can recognize when something is toxic and unreasonable. This will be the basis of the POV that I'm trying to view things from. Yet, the issue I'm addressing with this post is that these common sense beliefs are suspended when Group A or Fandom A becomes the topic, especially when it comes to discussions centered around issues that affect them. Whether it's because people don't notice it, don't want to notice it or can't address it effectively, many people under Fandom A simply do not discuss or engage in Group A posts given their particular treatment which further compounds this issue due these observations that I've noticed over the years. The users engaged in posts regarding Group A or Fandom A, not all but a significant amount, have consistently engaged in a manner that dismisses, counters, or even intentionally derails the discussions. I would go as far as say that there's almost a coordinated response whenever issues regarding Group A or Fandom A flairs up. I'm talking about recurring users, users so consistent in commenting under such posts that I can recognize their usernames, I can recognize the narratives being pushed and worst yet, I can see the insistent fan-war grievances that are being alluded to. Obligatory disclaimer that my observations are not meant to generalize said fandoms. That's besides the point. These are directed at specific users or at a larger level, exclusive to toxic fans. If you're not toxic, this doesn't apply to you and it is not directed or hinted at you in any way. Again, I'm simply trying to discuss behaviors and tendencies that I've seen on reddit. These users are from Fandoms B and C and some common behaviors and characteristics that I see appear over and over again and are as follows. Fandom B are very engaged and present in most, if not all posts, regarding Group A whether it be in the K-pop or pop subreddits to the point where they're uncontested. Their engagement and seemingly up-to-date awareness of all issues within Group A and Fandom A makes me suspect that they're drawing all this information and frankly, fan-war nonsense outside of the K-pop reddit sphere. Similarly, Fandom C also has a tendency to bring up fan-war grudges and take any opportunity to ridicule Fandom A. Their contempt for Fandom A is open and often supported by others. There are other factors at play to but I won't discuss those since it'll widen the scope of this post too much. Unfortunately, the consequence of all this is that many posts regarding Group A or Fandom A will get dismissed, ignored, or aggressively countered. Posts and discussions where the issues they face get brought up and gain traction will get derailed to the point of a locked thread or post removal. On top of that, many Fandom A users simply won't engage because the overwhelming response to them will drown out their comment which only makes the issue compound and become worse and worse. The fan-wars brought up whenever Group A is mentioned is so prevalent that it's practically normalized now and no attempts to try and discuss it have been successful. submitted by /u/Sooyaa_Yah_Boombayah [link] [comments]
