4.185. can I have some girl group suggestions please :)

I did a similar post a few days ago for boy groups and I got a lot of responses, while also being introduced to a lot of good songs that I missed out on. I have come to realise that I have more bg music in my playlist then gg so I want to change that slightly. I think overall I do prefer boy groups but I want to open up a bit more and try new things I OBVIOUSLY know black pink and have heard quite a lot of their songs. Aespa is also another group that I enjoy. other than that I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm not really into the super cute concepts or anything that's too bubblegum pop...pls help if you can lol submitted by /u/Thick-Yesterday-761 [link] [comments]

4.188. Why do companies continue to use AI when there's always negative reactions? Don't they read?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I just saw Everglow's post and it really is AI (I don't know, but I think they are without a company??), but like, we've seen several cases so far of companies using AI, there's always a negative reaction, but they keep doing it the same way. I know it could be to cut costs, and I can even try to understand smaller companies with "nugu" groups. Well, I'm not against AI; I do research myself. But when it comes to art and content sales, It's so dishonest. Besides, it's also quite poorly done. submitted by /u/azio_o [link] [comments]

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about the new BigHit boy group, and it made me wonder—what’s the actual difference between BigHit and HYBE? Did BigHit just change their name to HYBE, or are they now separate companies? I’m a bit confused and would appreciate someone explaining how they’re related. submitted by /u/Consistent-Pop-8879 [link] [comments]

4.191. pre debut line ups and fans expectations

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Seeing the announcement of the debut of the new big hit boy group made me thing about trainee A. For those who do know Trainee A was a predebut boy group under big hit that its debut got cancelled. I didn’t keep up with them. But I’m aware that the member Leo got into some controversy that made him decide to leave the team. The point of the discussion it’s not about the members as individuals, but the expectations that people put into predebut groups and the disappointment that leads many immature people to hate and keep comparing each other. There are several exemples of “what if” like ADP Youngseo, that was a predebut member of ILLIT, even a trainee of predebut newjeans or ADP Woonchan who was part of Trainee A. So my take is that we need to stop thinking about the “what ifs”. There is nothing wrong with it but ONLY doing this will take you nowhere. The amount of comparison youngseo and illit are getting it’s insane. And I’m sure new the bh bg will too. It’s tiering to see people stuck in the past. That is why is a double edge sword for the companies to decide to announce their predebut group waaaaay before their debut. (Ik that illit was formed through a survival show so that wasn’t a possibility but many others could have been avoided.) Even babymonster, but in their case I think it was helpful cause the fans wanted all of them to debut and yg just wanted 5 (or he did that just for more audience, who knows). What are your thoughts about this? submitted by /u/primrose-violet [link] [comments]

4.192. Is it bad to say I have little hope for Xnghan (Seunghan)?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

When it comes to the success of an idol people look towards their international success and then their homeland success. I think it is not rash to argue that the South Korean public are likely not going to be tuning into - given that they are the ones that wanted him gone in the first place. Perhaps that’s the reason SM has stuck those other two boys with him, to give him some sort of push. On the other hand, international fans are talking a big game at supporting him as a solo artist and making sure to tune in and stream but I will have to see it to believe it. Perhaps I am just being pessimistic. Briize can argue that RIIZE are doing well as a band- and I suppose they are in South Korea, but if the Seunghan scandal had not occurred they would be miles above the level they are at now internationallay. It is evident that SM are pushing their other Gen5 boygroup NCT Wish way more because they have more public support in South Korea (and have even started their next with the way they dragged those trainees to SMTOWN tour). A lot of people tuned out of RIIZE because of the whole unfair treatment scenario so Xnghan has lost a lot of support there too. As someone who attended SMTOWN in London, everyone knew Boom Boom Bass since it was one of their early songs, but once Fly Up started the crowd was much quieter (i will say this could be down to less English words). There has definitely been lower numbers of fans between RIIZING and ODYSSEY, which will also effect the amount of people who are aware of and willing to support. I suppose there is still time for international fans to get back on with RIIZE, I see it being younger fans. His debut has got to be something very well marketed and also impressive to win people back on his side. It is a shame that a young boy has lost a career and years and hours of work and effort to some people who believe they have authority over strangers, and I do hope this all works for him, but I also cannot see him doing exceedingly well. submitted by /u/Extra-Tumbleweed7062 [link] [comments]

4.193. Sometimes a disbandment provides more clarity than the grp theoretically existing but never being seen together

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For the last 4-5 years straight to the point disbandments have become rare and a lot of grps unofficial disband, with the group existing on paper but being inactive for years. On one hand,I can't lie,I get it,the members want to keep the group brand for their solo activities, they don't want to loose fans, etc. But on the other hand, when it's been years and years without even a public appearance from the group together it gets confusing and you can't quite pinpoint where their career as a group is. You start accepting they're practically disbanded and then the company or even the members themselves announced they haven't disbanded just to go back to radio silence again. This is not a rant,it's just me expressing my desire for clarity when it's pretty clear the grp's path together has come to an end. I honestly prefer the truth over having even a slight hope for a group that won't come back, even if deep down I know they disbanded. I like a lot of group who are at this point in their career and I would love some clarity. Tho,like I said earlier,it's a pretty complex issue and you can't officially disband the group if the members want to use the brand for solo activities. To those who have faves in similar situations, what do you guys think? Would you prefer the group existing, even if it's just on paper or an official disbandment announcement? submitted by /u/Alive-Pitch-9180 [link] [comments]

4.197. what were SM thinking when it came to handling LUCAS (post-NCT)?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Lucas conversation in the big 2025? I want to preface this by saying I became an NCTzens after he left the band so any errors please let me know politely. When it comes to his situation people either hate him or stan him and there’s barely anyone standing in that middle ground. I’m not here to discuss the validity of the evidence to say he was innocent either- he was gone before I became a fan so I didn’t have any attachment to him at all. Instead of removing him from their company they just held him hostage for two years? Gave him a pity documentary to make people feel bad for him? Never once did they clear up whether or not he guilty with an official statement and evidence- this coming from NCTzens instead. He released a hand written apology when it first occurred, so why go back on it now? Why not address it all at the time it was in its peak? I think that if something had been sorted out then there wouldn’t have been a need for this docu. This documentary was also released before his solo debut (because SM thought that was a good idea) and was most likely supposed to change the public perception of him from being nasty to being someone worth listening to. But if you look at his contribution to their company before this, he ’rapped‘ in WayV, messed up a dance break in NCT2020, and every time he did anything in SuperM he was ridiculed for not being as talented as the others. He previously had never proved to have an exceptional level of talent in.. anything? (it could be argued that SM’s lack of care for their foreign idols is enough of a reason to why they never pushed him) He was just easy on the eyes for some people. I wonder if this links back to the fact SM notably does not get rid of their groups. Apart from their earliest bands they haven’t ever disbanded. SuJu still going, SHINee and Girls Generation too. Aside from all those court cases TVXQ and EXO are still (technically) not disbanded. A more recent one would be the redebut of Seunghan as Xnghan soon to come. And after all that happened they gave him a solo debut with three songs? I don’t know if I pity him or not. The music was -eh. Not good, not terrible. But also not something I added to my playlist. The music video was interesting I suppose. It is also important to note the song they gave him reads as a diss track to the media and the haters. But if you never claim to be innocent of course people are going to not like you? And since that solo debut he‘s been MIA. I don’t know how well it charted if at all, and I also don’t know about streams or views because I frankly don’t care, but his case just interests me. I guess this is just another case of SM entertainment confusing me with their ways. submitted by /u/Extra-Tumbleweed7062 [link] [comments]

4.199. It's been exactly 6 years since Day6 released "Time Of Our Life" and the song is still charting

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I think it is absolutely crazy what Day6 has achieved in general and with this song. Even with no properly promoted comebacks this year, they are The KPOP group with the most digital points on Circle Chart this year, more than aespa/IVE for instance who had comebacks The most streamed artist in Youtube Korea, more than GDragon who had comebacks Sold out concerts for multiple days And right now on the Melon charts despite having huge comebacks this year from GD, aespa, IVE, Jennie and many more Time of Our Life which was released exactly 6 years ago is still charting at #28. Can you imagine that's the equivalent of a 2024 song still charting in the Top 30s in 2031 Happy, a 2024 B-side is still charting at #22. Yes that is higher than songs like Rebel Heart or Supernova which we all know was huge last year and Happy is released earlier Welcome To The Show is still charting at#36 You Were Beautiful, a 2017 song is still charting at #35, crazy that a song is still in the Top 40s after 8 years Like Day6's longevity on the charts is honestly so crazy that even without any properly promoted comebacks their songs just wouldn't die. The only other song that has such powerful charting longevity is BTS Spring Day. Imagine how big Day6 next comeback will be and we can probably see a resurgence of these songs again submitted by /u/InterestingSwim6701 [link] [comments]

4.203. KGuesser: any ideas to improve my MV guesser game?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hey! I recently made a daily Kpop game: kguesser.com I'm super happy by the fact that more and more people are playing it every day! I also just added a new hint type: "Year". It displays the MV's release year to help you guess. I'm now gathering feedback to improve KGuesser! For now, the few ideas I got from friends and players are: - adding an "Idol of the day" game (you need to guess an idol based on the nationality, age, debut year, ...) - a third hint type that displays the group name (but I think it makes the game too easy no?) - display the current success rate for today's MV (I guess it adds a bit of "competition", could be fun) If you have any idea or feedback, I'll take it! Would love to make the game even more fun 😁 submitted by /u/TheNafu [link] [comments]
