4.600. I just wanted to bring up how sad it is xlov won't do 1&only dance challenges with other idols

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For people who are unfamiliar their concept is genderless so their concept does get a little hate from homophobic people. I've seen comments on their tiktoks saying they should disband because they look like girls or anything along those lines. Their debut song imma be was definitely more masc so it wasn't as controversial for other idols to associate with them. They still only did dance challenges with zb1 though (three of the members were on BP). 1&only is way more fem and in an interview Wumuti said they didn't want to ask any idol to do a dance challenge so they didn't feel pressured. It just makes me sad to see them be isolated when they're all so talented and the concept is so authentic to who they are. I think there's still a lot of homophobia in kpop even from international fans. submitted by /u/PlentyCow8258 [link] [comments]

4.601. What idol you would consider a triple threat?

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

According to the dictionary, triple threat refer to performer who is proficient in singing, dancing and acting. Example of triple threat would be Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris. What are examples for kpop idols? So far I can think of Do Kyungsoo. A main vocal of Exo, he's not considered as among weak dancer in Exo and his acting is critically acclaimed and won a lot of acting awards. submitted by /u/Personal_Damage6616 [link] [comments]

She did not deserve all the hate she received, she deserved to stay alive and continue to grow her career. She had so much potential! Her song GO is such a great song. Hopefully you all fan give her music some love. submitted by /u/MapacheRob [link] [comments]

4.611. Twice’s comeback saved this year. Nothing else has made much noise

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Just in terms of EVERYTHING – promo, sound, concept; Twice is the only group who has pulled it off this year (for a wide audience range). I’d argue idle is second with “Good Thing” but even that felt minor in comparison to usual releases. It’s great for Twice, they’ve had on and off “good releases” for a little while now and I’m glad they’re getting as much recognition as they used to. But it just begs the question: why? There have been some hits this year, don’t get me wrong, but they’ve all been confined in fandom spaces. Like, I’m an atiny so I’m out here screaming “Lemon Drop song of the summer”, and all the other atiny are agreeing with it. Other fans of other groups, even if they’re open to listening to other music, probably haven’t even heard it. It’s so jarring to see such a massive shift in the community. I don’t hear nearly as much about other groups’ comebacks as I used to, and I can literally see that the groups I do stan are struggling with a wider audience way more than they used to. It’s like, even if the group is popular, they’re no longer really cared about by everyone. Whenever something “big” happens in kpop recently that grabs everyone’s attention, it’s some scandal. I’ve got a lot to say about this because it’s all been throwing me off recently, especially this year LOL. I think that variety shows going down in popularity (or being almost only run by nugu groups, which isn’t bad, they deserve the recognition, but no one knows them already) definitely adds to it. Variety shows that I do see are often just interviews, which I guess wouldn’t be counted as variety shows at all. I think my main issue is originality though. Reused sound/concept, 2 minute song formula, it’s all the same shit nowadays. I usually count on aespa for my blessings but when a song is bad it’s just bad (sorry Dirty Work x). People get used to that formula and find it very listenable which makes experimental songs, which define kpop in my opinion, less likely to be successful. Even SM groups have been exuding less hype recently, or they’ve just been following a listenable format that doesn’t really excite anyone. I am just. So bored. New releases will always get me excited, but I’ll always miss crazy shit like when Sticker and Zimzalabim first released or when everyone got enthralled by Maniac (VIVIZ) and Queencard. It’s fantastic while focusing on one or two groups, but I want to hear noise everywhere and hear other people’s opinions. Community barely exists anymore. The loudest stantwt has been this year is from Katseye’s controversial ass “Gnarly” (I’m obsessed with this song), and that’s not even kpop. submitted by /u/baller696969balls [link] [comments]

4.612. Permission To Dance On Stage Live Album

  • 1 month ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

If you want to listen to what a good live album is and what good live singing sounds like listen to this new live album by BTS. Each song is so different from the studio version. I might even say some of the live versions even sound better than the original. The live version sounds so good that it feels like I have been transported top three years back in 2022 to the concerts. The album feels like a collaboration between artist and fan because of the fan cheers and dialogues. https://open.spotify.com/album/7xLhqoM0ilHRKUg2irVSDI?si=TWOBPpRoRkKhC5UITEORFQ submitted by /u/ughdilfs [link] [comments]

  • reddit.com language

So, tell me who your favourite group is, and which member or members fit these categories. most overrated member. (The member who gets a little bit too much love, this isn't a bad thing, it just means that they're super popular compared to the other members) most underrated member. (The member that often gets overlooked when discussing biases and stuff) most under appreciated member. (The person that never gets credit for their contribution to the group within or outside the fandom) most likely to get in trouble. clumsiest member. most likely to spoil a comeback. funniest member most annoying member. (The person in the group that you love, even though they are kind of annoying) most overhated member. (The member that receives hate for absolutely no reason) most under hated member. (The member that never seem to get hate, or never gets much hate) best vocalist. best dancer. best rapper. the ACE. (someone who can do everything well) best cook. your personal bias. your bias wrecker or wreckers. 📸 = ITZY (Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna) submitted by /u/BigTastyCJ [link] [comments]
