37. What do you guys use to play your Kpop cds?

  • 9 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I’m looking for a nice CD player for my kpop cds and was looking on Amazon, I like that they have clear ones that show the disc playing but they apparently have just “decent” sound quality. Does anyone have a rec for a good one I can get for a fair price? I like the ones where you can see the disc spin but I’d prioritize sound quality over the aesthetic! submitted by /u/mysaddle [link] [comments]

38. Sickened that some people still support Seungri

So I’ve been seeing a bunch of posts about BigBang’s upcoming Coachella performance for their 20th anniversary. And while people have been understandably advocating for TOP’s return, I’ve seen quite a few people wanting Seungri back and it just grosses me out so much. It doesn’t matter if he was part of the original lineup, he ruined his legacy the second he decided to commit his crimes. He doesn’t deserve any second chances or forgiveness. It’s crazy how some people can’t judge morality objectively. submitted by /u/Ok_Mango1801 [link] [comments]

43. BLACKPINK’s Rise Back to the Pinnacle of Girl Groups in South Korea… Was Rosé’s APT Part of the Reason?

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

First of all, I’m a multi-stan and a Blink as well — so every thought here comes from years of watching the girls go through it all. Disclaimer: This post focuses only on Blackpink’s South Korean chart and fame journey. I still remember when Blackpink instantly rose to the top of girl groups in South Korea right after debut. They achieved a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) with their debut song in just six days — a record that still hasn’t been broken. Back then, it was much harder to achieve a PAK since it required topping nine charts, compared to just four today. From debut, they were leading the girl group scene. “How You Like That” (HYLT) marked the moment they completely surpassed the 3rd gen competition. It was a massive success both domestically and internationally — another PAK, along with insane YouTube and Spotify numbers. They were everywhere in Korea at that point. However, over time, the hiatuses between comebacks grew longer. When they finally came back in 2022 with Born Pink, it raised the global bar for girl groups yet again. The album’s performance outside of Korea — especially in the U.S. — was outstanding. But domestically, the response was a bit low-key compared to their earlier comebacks. Pink Venom was expected to top charts, but since the title contained the brand name “Celine,” it was deemed ineligible for Music Bank, which limited local exposure. From HYLT and The Album onward, it felt like YG began prioritizing international markets more heavily, and in the process, Blackpink slowly lost some of their connection with the South Korean audience. During this time, 4th gen girl groups surged, with NewJeans debuting while Blackpink was on tour. Practically overnight, NJ took over the charts and became Korea’s new “face of girl groups.” (Ditto is still one of my top 5 songs, btw.) Meanwhile, Blackpink continued their world tour throughout 2023, staying mostly outside of Korea. By then, NewJeans and Aespa were dominating domestically. Talks of “replacements” started, and many predicted BP would disband or pursue solo careers like their YG seniors. Then, in December 2023, amid all the uncertainty, news broke that the members had renewed their group contract (but not their solo ones) with YG. Each member later established her own label, leading fans to assume a group comeback was highly unlikely anytime soon. Fast forward to October 18, 2024 — Rosé released APT. And that changed everything. Out of nowhere, the song completely dominated — topping every Korean chart and platform. South Korea welcomed Rosé back with open arms. And with that, it felt like Blackpink’s “lost fame” in Korea had returned with full force. Soon after, Jennie released Mantra, which performed exceptionally well too. Then came announcements of solo albums from all four members, keeping the momentum alive from October 2024 through March 2025 — one hit after another. Finally, YG announced the “Deadline” World Tour (Stadium Only) along with a group comeback. Their first concert in Goyang drew 78,000 fans over two days, and on Day 1, they performed JUMP — which officially released the following week. Three months later, JUMP is still charting in the Top 2–3 across all major Korean charts. And honestly, if it weren’t for the ongoing KDH wave, we might’ve even seen another PAK. So here’s my question: 👉 Is it wrong to say that Rosé’s “APT” was the turning point — the spark that brought Blackpink’s domestic fame roaring back? submitted by /u/Daddy1007a [link] [comments]

44. Yixing GRANDLINE 5· Monkey King Rocking the Heavenly Palace” Tour — Beijing Bird’s Nest Show.

As a fan since 2017, I've seen Yixing's journey, and I knew he was destined for greatness but I'm still absolutely blown away by the scale of his recent show! This wasn't just a concert; it was an unforgettable, history-making spectacle, and it's all thanks to his dedication. The sheer ambition of this project is insane! He brought in Zhang Yimou, the legendary director of the Beijing 2008 and 2022 Olympics Opening Ceremonies, to help craft the vision. Knowing that level of expertise was involved just shows how serious Yixing is about his art. They reportedly invested a mind-boggling $28 million into the production. You could feel that effort in every moment! The sets were massive, built for two nights in the Bird's Nest stadium for an audience of 80,000 seats! Honestly, a lot of singers can fill an arena that size, but what truly makes this special is Yixing's relentless hard work and respect for his fans and the amount of effort and money he's willing to pour into the production ,He didn't just walk out and sing; he literally remixed every single song for the show! That dedication to reimagining his music and giving us a completely unique, new experience is what sets him apart and why I'm such a proud fan. And can we talk about the fact that this incredible event happened on his birthday? Instead of making a wish for himself, he turned it around and gave us the most beautiful, selfless moment: “its my birthday today. i feel stronger and braver than before. so instead of wishing for myself, i will make a wish for you. may all of your dreams come true. and me? i will STAY as your coolest little sheep.” Anyway I’m going to rewatch 😭 submitted by /u/Fancy_Restaurant_259 [link] [comments]

45. the new kpop stans killed the fun era

hot take: kpop isn’t actually getting “worse,” it’s just getting boring because the new wave of stans made it boringggg everyone’s too busy policing vibes, overanalyzing every idol’s breath, and turning every comeback into a stan war instead of just… enjoying the music?? like when did liking more than one group become a crime 💀 now it’s all “who’s the it girl,” “who’s the main visual,” “who’s flopping,” “who’s charting,” like girl… when’s the last time you even streamed a b-side?? 💀 kpop used to be fun, messy, and creative — now it’s spreadsheets, fanwars, and fake woke takes on twitter. bring back the chaos era when people actually liked music and not just their fav’s brand deals submitted by /u/ShipArtistic4139 [link] [comments]

53. favorite moments when kpop collided with your other interests ???

  • 13 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

just a lighter post cuz ive missed posting here but on that note, a couple of months something rlly funny happened and i wonder if other kpop fans ever felt like this. I'm a big volleyball fan and theres this one player whos name is Gabi (short for Gabriela), then Katseye's Gabriela came out and from then on whenever she would score the dj would play this song. Also, lately ive been getting into F1 and recently found out that Stray Kids name dropped Leclerc in one of their songs. Anyways, i wanna know if theres ever been a crazy crossover between kpop and some of your other interests that you never thought it would happen. submitted by /u/seulgibreadd [link] [comments]

All I mean is does someone in KPop exist who also goes for crazy nail extentions like him? (the dude on the pictures is Kensuke from the JPop group KID PHENOMENON). I mean I know I saw a few dudes in Kpop here and there who use nail polish, but is there someone who loves going to the nail salon end does nails like him or even crazier? Like getting random claws, having the nails bedazled, doing color gradiants etc. submitted by /u/Beautiful_Yellow_682 [link] [comments]
