Jungkook's 3D just hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, making him the K-pop soloist (tie with BTS for Kpop Act) with the most songs over 1 billion streams. The songs are: Left and Right Seven Standing Next to You 3D Crazy that all his singles from Golden have crossed over a billion. What a crazy debut album from him. Can't wait to see how his next album submitted by /u/Ok-Mistake764 [link] [comments]
Skz music. Thoughts and a small rant 😅 I used to be a huge stay until after chk chk boom I stopped listening to them and became more of a midzy. I loved skz, I watched all of their content and kept up with everything they did, not in like a weird way, like I would watch all performances and when I would see a meme I watched the whole vid lol so after like 3 months I had basics watched everything abt them. Kinda embarrassing and low-key weird and unhealthy so I don't do that anymore with itzy. Yes they're my ults but sometimes it takes me days or weeks to watch performances or videos which I think is much better than just immediately consuming everything abt them the moment it drops. But that's not really what I'm here to talk abt. Their music is just absolutely insufferable nowadays. I know alot of people have had this opinion before and I just keep thinking abt the past so I just wanted to say it here. I listened to ceremony and it was kinda shit. There's so much English and some of it makes no sense, they keep talking abt how great they are... Ever since they went to Charlie paths song camp and "learned alot" their songs actually became shit. They became worse than ever and narcissistic as ever. At first it was kinda subtle like with s class and lalalala, s class was the first comeback I ever heard from them btw. After lalalala I think they had the Collab with Charlie then it just went downhill. Like the song wasnt that good and ofc taste is subjective but there were many people who disliked it and I've seen people who say after lmb their song quality decreased and some unstanned like me. At this point I was kinda in and out of skz. Then chk chk boom came around and that was the real turning point. The lyrics made absolutely no sense to me like wdym Ur filling up Ur truck, no I don't want that ride. And the random Spanish too. When changbin collabed with itzy on vay, there were Spanish lyrics and it kinda put me off cus there's no need for these random lyrics. They said la Vida loca and I swear it didn't even fit what they were saying it just seems odd and out of place. This isn't hate towards the language ofc it's just that where the words were placed made no sense and it just kinda ruined the vibe and all that. Anyways after this I kinda unstanned them because they also became kinda freaky and when watching their content, i couldnt anymore I just found everything unfunny and cringe lowkey. So I basically unstanned them. Then they had walkin on water and I thought maybe they could redeem themselves and boy was I wrong. The lyrics were nonsensical. Walking on water like harry potter. Ayehsysgejeuey what the hell are U talking abt changbin 😭. When I'm sinking and Ur fishing that's my flow? I think that's the lyrics but still what is going on. The song overall wasn't even that good. It took me like 4 months to listen to their solos and the duo thing. Honestly I hated all their songs except leeknow and seungmin. Then for the duos I liked them and Truman wasn't bad some lyrics were weird. After this or well during this they were kinda freaky like acting all sexy and tryna be hot and I just hated that and that's just a personal preference but if Ur gonna act like this Ur gonna make Ur crazy fans even crazier and still get annoyed when they don't give U space and become delusional. I'm not saying it's their fault but their low-key encouraging them to "want them". Then I listened to ceremony when it dropped... Honestly I liked the part where l.n sang then leeknow and that's abt it cus it didn't have dodgy lyrics and didn't sound bad. They sang abt their greatness and trophies and that no one can beat them. Okay. Different but also why do most stays have the comprehension level of a 5 year old. Sometimes they do or say the dumbest shit and it's like how thick are you?. Also kinda different but I can't stand hyunjins dancing I'm sorry. I know people have their own styles but I feel he does too much. I feel like he tries to act sexy and he always does that tongue thing in his mouth and his moves seem like hes tryna seduce you lol. His dance stands out alot imo and not in a good way I also can't really stand his expressions too I'm sorry. I don't really know how to describe it but I can't watch a video of hyunjin dancing and take it seriously. Also on that note, I know it's not a big problem but it's kinda annoying when people say yeji and hyunjin look like siblings cus honestly I don't think they do people say it like their identical. I would say younger hyunjin looks more like her but even so they don't really look that similar. People only say they look similar cus of their name and they are born in the same year. Imo yeji has a slimmer face slimmer nose and thinner lips and thinner brows than hyunjin the only partially similar thing are their eyes but I feel like yejis are sharper. Yeah that's all I wanted to say anyways you can disagree with me just try not to be rude and id also be willing to hear any of ur opinions as long as it's not hateful 😅 submitted by /u/notgonnabeshy [link] [comments]

Day 46 Results: SISTAR wins by 47 votes! Vote for your favorite and as always poll closes in 24 hours! If you're unsure of who to vote for, here's a couple songs to help your decision: IZ*ONE - Panorama IZ*ONE - Violeta IZ*ONE - Vampire Apink - Dilemma Apink - NoNoNo Apink - Eung Eung First Half Second Half Disclaimer: This tournament is not a “comparison”. The seeds were randomized and I didn’t pick the matchups. The songs picked are amongst their most popular because they’re easy to recognize. If you have another song suggestion you may leave it in the comments but please refrain from complaining about the song not being included. I also try to switch up the listed songs every new round, so the songs you might not know from a group might not be listed as they were listed the previous round. Either way, feel free to recommend them in the comments if you’d like. submitted by /u/PushOffTheGround [link] [comments]

In newjeans most recent court hearing on August 14th (their mediation session) one of the members, I believe Danielle said that even if ADOR won the lawsuit they still wouldn’t go back to hybe… What exactly does that mean? If ADOR wins the lawsuit can they not just, for lack of better words, “make them work?” If they lose this case are they just going to rot in ADOR’s basement by choice? Will ADOR have to let them even if the contract is ruled to be valid? I honestly thought if ADOR won the case newjeans would have to continue as a group under ADOR. I didn’t even think it was a possibility that they’d get the choice to stop promoting all together. submitted by /u/sunnielana [link] [comments]

Example: group: Stray Kids stage name: Bang Chan government name: Christopher Chahn Bahng (not a typo btw) most commonly used: Chan used by his friends, but also by fans sometimes: Chris cutesy nickname: Channie reserved for specific occasions by fans: Christopher (mostly stylized as CHRISTOPHER) For a group, there's the classic TVXQ/DBSK/Tohoshinki This post is half-inspired by that online phenomenon of fans talking about idols while using all kinds of different names, often not even including the group. Therefore leaving people who aren't that familiar with the idol to do detective work if they want to figure out who the commenter is talking about. (Admittedly, I've been occasionally guilty of this too, I usually just forgot.) So I thought why not collect some for informative purposes. But I'm also just interested. Who else comes to mind? submitted by /u/Loud_Kaleidoscope818 [link] [comments]

Note: I am not a consumer of Kpop to the point where Im a fan but ive watched some of it. This is only for some specific groups. Back in 2022, I was close with someone who loved K-pop, especially BTS. I get that cuteness culture is common and is js a certain aspect to Kpop. However, I think in any severity, it is very strange. Male K-pop idols are often molded to appear soft, innocent, and childlike to the point where it gets weird asf. And its normalised. On the more severe side, They’re given pet names, expected to maintain a pure image, and face backlash for doing normal adult things like vaping or dating. Goes deeper than that when many fans push romantic or sexual narratives between idols, often shipping them where one is submissive or feminized, usually tied to stereotypes about Asian men. It connects to a strange docility that Western culture puts on Asia, like its all so kawaii or smth. Even if ur someone who innocently enjoys their cuteness and innocence, do you not think: Wow, the main attraction point to this men is that they act like little boys. The same ppl, who get mad at the Western industry, for continuing this “school girl” costume vibes seen in Pop. Then we get into young 14-16 year old..even 18 year old boys and girls debuting. Hell to the no. submitted by /u/Wonderful-Freedom488 [link] [comments]
