If a member is the least popular in their group, it doesn’t make sense to defend them by comparing them to other groups. Fan: “jin is the least popular. He’s underrated.” Fan 2: “bts is so big. Even the least popular member has more fans than any other group.” It only matters whether the idol is popular in their own group. Most still think Jin as being the least popular of BTS and won’t consider him being more famous than San (Ateez) or Baekhyun (Exo). Why? Some fandoms are simply bigger (army vs Atiny) so it’s unfair to compare one idol of a huge group to another idol from smaller group. submitted by /u/taejinkook28 [link] [comments]

I’m sorry but i just saw this and can’t help but bring this up because it’s so pathetic…. i was just checking out random kpop subs and this is what they do @ r/exo they’re complaining about exo posts being removed in main subs and still manage to turn it into a bts & army shit talking fest 😭 then have the audacity to say armys are obsessed with exo…. tell me if yall have ever seen any army badmouthing a group, not even specifically exo, in the bangtan sub?? Like it’s so funny to me bc you’re talking about not having a space where you can safely discuss exo but even in that supposed “safe place” u can’t stop talking about bts & armys isn’t it so pathetic 😭😭😭😭😭 this is true obsession atp but I kinda feel bad for exo imagine if they actually had supportive fans rather than these losers obsessed w hating another group submitted by /u/OkBeautiful5010 [link] [comments]
So, here's the idea: You pick two groups/soloists (or one of each) and one song you'd from each that you'd like the other to cover. Think of it like a "song trade." Could happen realistically or not. Doesn't matter. Here's my pairing: SHINee: Day After Day (오늘도) by EXO EXO: Don't Let Me Go by SHINee submitted by /u/Goyangi-ssi [link] [comments]
How to play: Comment or upvote the idol you think had the best hair in today’s color. Please don’t comment idols who have already won for another color. Yuna from ITZY won as the female idol with the best RED hair with 39 upvotes! Yeji from ITZY won as the female idol with the best ORANGE hair with 71 upvotes! Today’s color: BLONDE/YELLOW 💛 Idea inspired by EXTENSIONSTATION submitted by /u/NoHost4553 [link] [comments]

so sakuya (nct wish) is currently underaged (17) and i've noticed people making odd comments towards him (pictured) 🫤 i'm honestly nervous for when he turns 18 (which is this year) due to people already being weird 😭 and its lowkey giving me flashbacks to the emma watson countdown situation 🤦♀️ nothing wrong with being attracted to him (I am too, i'm younger than him though) if you're around a similar age and..not saying you're gonna touch him. I just feel like weird comments/sexualization towards underaged male idols is less talked about than with underaged female idols, both are equally as bad, but as I mentioned one is less talked about, for example something I found kinda iffy is in the nct wish hands up choreo they had two 16 year old boys straight up thrusting the air? whose idea was that? 😭 submitted by /u/Ok-Banana-9629 [link] [comments]
Like the title says, Karina is clearly wearing a durag on her head in the MV, performances and tiktoks. Example: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNd5oE3RV/ This whole video is nothing but one big cultural appropriation, from the concept, the purposefully AAVE pronunciation and lyrics down to the styling but nobody seems to care. Why do we see dozen of post a week about Tarzzan and other appropriating idols being called out, but aespa goes completely unnoticed for the whole promotion period so far? submitted by /u/xgxpop [link] [comments]

So I realized specifically this year that there’s been a lot of great songs from groups that I don’t usually listen to or necessarily love their sound! There’s also a few groups that I just couldn’t get into for so long, but a switch just flipped for me this year. Is anyone else in this boat? What songs or groups are they? UAU; attitude and sacrifice - I’m just not a fan of Dreamcatchers sound, but just wow. These are right up my alley! These are the songs that inspired this post because never in a million years would I think that they’d make a subunit with my type of music! ARTMS; Burn - this song makes me feel like a baddass haha I just love it truly. I’ve never been able to really get into Loona or ARTMS unfortunately! TWICE and BTS; their whole discography! Not sure what clicked for me, but something did this year for sure! And I absolutely get the hype for both now. TXT; Cat and Dog - literally just got into them and finally listened to this song; I actually love it and lift to it haha. UNIS; superwoman - the title is ironic because if I’m not mistaken, they are predominately minors and I know the youngest is around 13 or 14; so I don’t actively listen to them. I’m not sure how I found this song, but I absolutely love it to bits. Hearts2Hearts; the chase - I loathed this song when it came out and over the last month, I have genuinely listened to it everyday for every situation. I still don’t love the rest of their music though unfortunately! I’m looking forward to what comes next for them! submitted by /u/Horror-Boss-8495 [link] [comments]
i dont think their younger audiences like teenagers would agree with this but if you’re on the older side, like at least in your 20’s, i feel like you might understand. the biggest red flag ive noticed about their company is when they debuted a 15/16 year old. because clearly the concept they’re going for isn’t something like illit / new jeans where its obviously “pg 13.” katseye’s company is literally aiming for the sexual concept similar to kiss of life and none of this would be an issue if they didnt debut a minor. its just frustrating because NOBODY is calling their company out for this. i think katseye as a whole is amazing. this post is calling out their company, and their company only. submitted by /u/Extra-Tie2984 [link] [comments]
The ones who sound beautiful, stable, portray emotions and eat up live singing. • Stage names only, no real or full names. • Totally open to multiple nominations per letter. • Be kind and respectful, everyone has different vocal preferences as vocals come in all tones and styles! • ⭐ The comment with the most upvotes wins. Just a small note: Let's try to keep things fair and thoughtful. While we all love our biases, feel free to name someone you truly believe shines vocally even if they're not your ult. Let's use this as a space to celebrate real vocal talent and keep it fun for everyone. ALSO TO GIVE EVERYONE A CHANCE TRY NOT TO REPEAT NAMES THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN MENTIONED. submitted by /u/lia_core [link] [comments]

It appeared in my recommended YouTube videos and the live stream was just about to start. They were amazing but Yujin Lesseo and Liz stood out the most. I may have confused the names. I'm attaching a photo because I'm a casual listener of IVE and I might get their names confused. submitted by /u/Separate-Comedian-25 [link] [comments]
as someone who got tickets and isn’t even a huge blink, i need to say: i don’t CARE that they released ONE song in over three years. i don’t care that their dancing isn’t synchronized like at all. when a group has an amazing discography (which not everyone might agree with) & they still put up a genuine LIVE performance, hell yeah i want tickets. do i think it’s sad that they can do this because they don’t have any consequences because people (including me - yes I’m hypocritical) will continue supporting them? yes. but at the end of the day i personally feel like i am getting what i expected. even before their dancing was never something they were praised for in concerts. lack of energy was always a common theme in discussions. nevertheless, if i can be in a stadium of people singing their heart out to forever young im good. short rant lol submitted by /u/kkazugyu [link] [comments]
Ever since Jeongyeon gained some weight, it feels like people have just been quietly waiting for her to go back to how she used to look. There’s this unspoken expectation that she’ll have some kind of “glow up,” and honestly, it’s draining. She probably already feels enough pressure on her own, but every time she shows up on camera, the comments are still focused on her body. In Twice's latest music video, there’s a quick scene where her stomach is visible. If you compare it to the rest of the video, it looks like her waist was slightly edited to appear slimmer. And just like that, people online start celebrating. Suddenly she’s “back,” she’s “lost weight,” she’s “glowing up.” All based on one shot that might not even reflect how she actually looks. Jeongyeon used to be very thin. When she gained weight, most of it went to her upper body, and that’s just how her body naturally carries it. People store weight in different ways. Some gain it in their legs, others in their midsection or arms. For Jeongyeon, it added more to a frame that was already broader on top. But instead of seeing this as a normal part of how bodies change, people act like it’s something that needs to be hidden or corrected. That’s why no matter what outfit she wears, people always say it doesn’t flatter her. Not because the outfit is actually bad, but because it doesn’t give her that exaggerated hourglass shape fans seem to expect. And since that’s not her natural silhouette, unless she’s wearing something super fitted or heavily styled, it’s just not going to be there. So if her stomach isn’t completely covered or if she’s wearing something more relaxed, the response is almost always negative. Of course some outfits look better on certain body types, that’s just how fashion works. But in Jeongyeon’s case, it feels like the rules are different. Things that look fine on other members are suddenly considered bad styling when it’s her wearing them. It’s not really about the clothes, it’s about the fact that her body doesn’t fit a narrow ideal. And when people act like the only way for her to look good is to either hide her shape or force it into something it’s not, it just ends up feeling restrictive. Not everyone needs to look like an hourglass to be attractive. Not every idol should have to fit into one specific body type to avoid criticism. Jeongyeon looks great, regardless of whether she matches what fans are used to seeing. It’s time people stopped treating her body like a before-and-after project and just let her exist without turning her into a topic of debate every time she’s on screen. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]

Despite their fans separating them from K-pop (even going as far as promoting them as better than all k-pop groups), the majority of Katseye discussion occurs in K-pop spaces because outside of that, there really isn't a space to talk about them to maintain the hype. Western celeb fan culture had been quite...unexciting for quite some time now. There is an apathy among the public regarding the personal lives of western artists even if they are at the top 0.001%. Sure fanwars will still exist for them but most likely they are caged within the echochambers of their particular small communities in Twitter unless some big celeb messed up big BIG time that it reaches the news. (Funnily enough, paparazzi kinda feels less notorious right now compared to Dispatch). On the other hand, K-pop spaces are centered on discussion may it be comparisons or any other kind of thinkpiece (and the topic could be the most mundane of things). There is constant fan activity and engagement to the point where so many brands try to take advantage and it's not always even in an official capacity (e.g. rather than official ambassadorships, social media accounts of brands often comment on fan posts and whatnot). Outside of fan spaces, movement of big K-pop groups reach the news not only in SK but also in countries where K-pop is mainstream (e.g. SEA countries). In a world where constant engagement equates to popularity, it is pretty funny but ultimately unsurprising that Katseye fans (despite the amount of comments bringing down either the talents of most K-pop idols or the system of that industry) will engage in K-pop discussions because that's the place where people are the most active. There really is no fan community to generate activity for Katseye right now in the Western pop space, especially with other Western groups. That's why ultimately it is ironic that despite Eyekons trying to present them as something separate and entirely better than K-pop, Katseye "leeches off" from the industry not only from the financial resources & infrastructure of Hybe (and even the entire industry) but also in terms of source of popularity from fan activity. If Katseye is stopped being discussed in any way alongside K-pop (may it be in a positive or negative light), it would severely impact their trajectory. submitted by /u/Intelligent_Office37 [link] [comments]
