The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
I love this song a lot so having twice as much of it is literally a dream come true! Both Baila and Superhero are really good and feel like complete songs that tell a story on their own . The vocal delivery is fantastic(as always with Nmixx). Plus, it itches my brain in just the right way to be able to listen to each song on their own but also combine them! So yeah, thank you Nmixx for brightening my monday!! submitted by /u/Phi_the_lemon [link] [comments]
Just wondering, I always in the impression that girls like more emotional or calmer songs. But most of boy group I hear today always heavily lean on hip-hop style. As a gg stan I could share a thought that while i don't like hip-hop, but I still like it when ggs i like do them, it felt like watching your kids doing what they like or what they think is cool. submitted by /u/keivelator [link] [comments]
Personally for me this might be one of the best kpop song release this year and Nmixx best title song. The chorus is just so magical? They also showed of their vocals with the last chorus. Im happy for songs that has an actual chorus if you know what I mean. I think this is the sound Nmixx should aim for instead of drop beat chorus songs. This fits their talent and style so much better. submitted by /u/Deecoli [link] [comments]

For me I have 9 5th Gen Boy Groups and then IVE as the sole girl group and non 5th Gen entry. What is that on song or group that stands a a bit a part from your usual listening range? submitted by /u/ARG_obesessed [link] [comments]
I always thought that after aespa's mini 3 ep series on YT, the end goal was always going to be an animation. Looking at how popular Kpop Demon Hunters was, I think that aespa could have easily made something in that realm. Their entire concept was essentially connecting with their ae's and fans through music which is pretty much the concept of KDH. I think there was a lot to improve on such as the ae design and I always thought the ae's should've resembled the girls in some way - I can also acknowledge that part of KDH's success was due to the fact that it assembled all KPop fans but I do think a lot of other groups fans would've still been curious and/or hate watched. It's crazy to think how KDH was the most watched movie on Netflix this year & I think aespa could have also had great success, had they remained with LSM & the concept. Thoughts? submitted by /u/woruru [link] [comments]
βββββββββββββββββ Hey everyone, today is an exciting day as another JYP girl group returns with me music. NMIXX returns with a full-length project, one that Iβve been eagerly awaiting. Iβm excited to see what sounds the group will bring to the table and what the two versions of O.O. will sound like, as I havenβt heard those versions until today. Itβs been a fun ride since 2022 watching the NMIXX group as artists and performers. Letβs jump into Blue Valentine and see what the members delivered to the table. βββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/be5nijgs7xuf1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a43072a19e6b344132b9be00171fcf1e5a33912 Blue Valentine - NMIXX Blue Valentine The opening song on the album has the same name as the album, bringing in a Pop-rock vibe that works wonderfully with the group's vocal performance. I didnβt know I needed a rock sound from the group, as itβs a strong start to the album. The smooth vocal tones from the members fit the melody that pulled me right in, as this tune does a killer job opening this record. The hook hits hard after the slower pre-chorus, and during the chorus, we get some excellent emotion from the members that keep this tune strong. The guitars in the second verse add to the overall vibe before things slow down a little for that pre-chorus. We do get a little Baltimore club section before the hook explodes back into the mix. The bridge is a smooth section with a beautiful piano melody as we move right back into that hook that Iβm obsessed over. https://preview.redd.it/tpt68xhv7xuf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5b6c567d35e7c233a4a7cd768eaa3334fde9f4c6 βββββββββ βββββββ SPINNIN ON IT The second song on the album was pre-released as a Music Video and not put on streaming until the album officially dropped. I wish this track had been released on streaming earlier, as it was the song to get me hyped for this album. Drums and electronic synths open up the album as the members' smooth vocals move into the mix that bringing a bit of a groove to the tune. The hook is layered with backup vocals that add to the overall vibe the producers crafted. The members bring in some strong vocal performances that keep this tune interesting. The bridge is another section Iβm enjoying as we get a piano melody that switches things up a little bit, giving the tune a little jazz vibe for a bit before the slick chorus pops back into the mix. https://preview.redd.it/odbpo3vx7xuf1.jpg?width=2730&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e3a5731a23bf48b4c8c08bcddbd9e7902667611 βββββββββ βββββββ 3. Phoenix Synths open up with an electro-pop beat and thumping bass that works well with the vocals from the members. The instrumental sounds like it wants to go full dubstep, but never really does; it just keeps that electro-pop sound. Part of me wishes we got a dubstep breakdown, as it would switch things up and add something different to the group's sound. I still think Phoenix is a strong song for the group, but I felt like it couldβve hit a little bit harder. I love the vocals that fit wonderfully with the instrumental. https://preview.redd.it/v40ohkg08xuf1.jpg?width=900&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=875ac7c6c2d531e789be44e651aea04c84c935a4 βββββββββ βββββββ 4. Reality Hurts NMIXX goes for this synth-heavy tune that goes deep into the electronic sound, and we also get a co-writing credit from Lily. I love the twists and turns the electronic instrumental goes for, as it keeps me wanting more each time I return to this tune. There are some hyper-pop/hardstyle-sounding moments that I didnβt expect to hear from NMIXX. I will say it does sound like the instrumental is all over the place, but I still think NMIXX works well with the overall vibe that the producers crafted. NMIXX delivers some vocals that work well with the instrumental, but I will mention that this tune will be one to grow on me the more I hear it. https://preview.redd.it/cqkozsz38xuf1.jpg?width=4543&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=63b682d085a4c74be6c99f81f6df9b3730517e82 βββββββββ βββββββ RICO NMIXX goes for this dancehall beat that sounds like something DJ Snake or Major Lazer would make. Iβm not the biggest fan of Dancehall music, but NMIXX makes it work. The vocals blend with the overall vibe that works with the thumping vibe. The hook is a little bit repetitive, but it still works with the performance from the members. We do get a piano section that adds a bit of a bassanova element to the track that Iβve been enjoying a lot from this tune. NMIXX plus dancehall music isnβt something I would expect to like, but Iβve been loving this tune like crazy. https://preview.redd.it/9tgnqpn78xuf1.jpg?width=189&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3cd6b67cd0c45f69d92508e3607d3610df31367 βββββββββ βββββββ 6. Game Face Game Face brings in synths that fit with this breakbeat beat that blends perfectly with the vocals from the members. I do like the tone of the performance as it works well and helps to elevate the beat a little bit. The hook has been growing on me the more I return to this tune. The first time I heard this song, I thought the beat was a little lacking in flavor because it reminded me of Boom Bap, which Iβm not a fan of at all. During the bridge, it sounds like we get a mix of tribal instruments with the breakbeat sound. I donβt think this is the most interesting song on the album, but it's still one I can listen to cause it works in the context of the album. https://preview.redd.it/qb8wmcm98xuf1.jpg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95559c3778baf9f6440f7097b13a04ffe470b064 βββββββββ βββββββ 7. PODIUM PODIUM is the first co-writing credit from Haewom, and we get thumping drum machine percussion that crafts the Latin-sounding beat. The drum machine helps move this tune along, as itβs been something Iβve been enjoying a lot. The group delivers a performance that works well for them as the slick vocals add to the instrumental. The chorus has grown on me as I find that a decent section of the overall track. The vocals do have a bit of a reverb to them that works with the tone they deliver. I find that NMIXX works well with a thumping vibe that helps keep the tune moving. https://preview.redd.it/8ou424kb8xuf1.jpg?width=480&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5ae4b803b55c94b17a84d65a37364f106ccfb4c βββββββββ βββββββ Crush on You Haewon gets her second co-writing credit on the album for Crush on You, which also has Khip-hop rapper Since co-writing as well. A guitar opens up the song, bringing in a boasovana vibe that works well with the sweet vocal tones the members bring to the table. The group's vocals work perfectly with the tropical instrumental. The hook is a sweet moment that keeps bringing me back for more. I love the bridge with its switch-up as the members blend wonderfully together before the tropical vibe returns to the mix. Crush on You might be one of my favorite tracks on the album since itβs smooth and tropical. https://preview.redd.it/t7ker7md8xuf1.jpg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51d45b78b3d0aba6e38e7dccbdb1494e242801bd βββββββββ βββββββ ADORE U ADORE U brings back the pop-rock sound we heard at the start of the album, and one I wanted to hear again. The members work perfectly with this type of sound as it helps bring out the emotion from the performance. The hook is packed with killer vocal moments and guitars that pull me back for more. I would love ot hear NMIXX perform ADORE U with a live backing band because it could elevate this tune into something strong. The bridge has a synth-pop-trap moment that adds to the overall vibe, and with the members. I hope the group continues this pop-rock sound in future releases. https://preview.redd.it/pz19rlgh8xuf1.jpg?width=2999&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c2db7c843591a078539e02049bf10eea458f390 βββββββββ βββββββ 10 . Shape of Love Synth opens up the track, crafting the melody as it brings in a smooth vibe that fits the singer's vocals. The echo effect on the vocals works with the group's sound, and the electro-pop-rock sound is another thing that works with the group. Each member brings something strong to the table that makes this another excellent tune on the album, and my favorite section is the chanting vocals that help end the song. https://preview.redd.it/wsjaf6pl8xuf1.jpg?width=201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e041b2881b67169cdc6ce0ac96259a08d43d711 βββββββββ βββββββ 11. O.O Pt. 1 (Baila) Remember when NMIXX debuted with O.O. A lot of people said it sounded like two songs mixed together well, you were all right, and now we get O.O. separated into two songs instead of one. Baila is Part 1 of O.O., with its dark vibe compared to the second part. The first half of O.O. is a strong section where the members bring in a strong performance. The hook is still something that grows one mas. I didnβt like it the first time I heard it during their debut. We get a rap after the first chorus that starts off the second verse. It might take me a bit to get used to this version, cause Iβm so used to the switch-up in the original, but I still think Part 1 works well for the group. https://preview.redd.it/mquaqefq8xuf1.jpg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=934fb8b89e64ed0b66a7dbc98ec96b2e4dc5c071 βββββββββ βββββββ O.O Pt. 2 (Superhero) Superhero is the second part of O.O., the part that we changed up in the original. It sounds like Superhero goes for a rock vibe that I love hearing from NMIXX. I remember liking this section a bit more than part 1, but I still find that both versions work well for the group. The hook in Superhero is still something Iβm enjoying, and the rapping works well with the vibe the producers crafted. I find that Superhero closes out the album on a strong note, just like how the album opened up. https://preview.redd.it/saiy8opv8xuf1.jpg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0f34e6e33b9057373b533bee3cc102854261914a βββββββββββββββββ Summary: NMIXX delivered their first studio album, one that works well with the group's sound, but one that doesnβt feel as strong as Forward. I still think the groupβs album still works as they deliver some smooth vocals that will pull me back for more. Itβs cool to hear some bossanova from NMIXX or the Dancehall vibe that we get on one of the tracks. We also got both versions of O.O., which Iβm enjoying both of them. I feel like NMIXX has been having a great year, and this studio album will be one on repeat for me. ββββββββββββββββ https://preview.redd.it/gmthh3149xuf1.jpg?width=1442&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=feb4294b596a275283ab34cde63f4c0a41004874 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]

Mine is when Kpop fans get surprised when one of the younger or youngest members of the group is the tallest. I know, very silly, but like genuinely, unless we're talking about idols who are literally prepubescent, you hit your expected height at like 15-16, maybe for boys like a year later. So why do so many fans act like it's this huge surprising thing to see one of the younger members be taller? Lol like I'm taller than my mom, but hey she popped me out so obviously she's older than me. But yet so many comments I've seen 'you would never guess ... is the youngest by her height' or the other way around 'she's supposed to be the eldest yet ... is so tiny' That's it, lol, any other things like this that bother you? submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
Hello! Iβm wanting to sell a lot of my old kpop albums & pcs. Does anyone know which platforms other than insta is the best these days for selling in the UK? Screw the "fans" who think western music is inherently better than K-Pop Screw the "fans" who think K-Pop can't be deep Screw the "fans" who hate on new K-Pop yet have only heard 10 title tracks released this year Screw the "fans" who refuse to listen to any girl groups (You don't have to listen to girl groups, but there is a difference between not liking/wanting to listen to girl groups and refusing to listen to girl groups just because they are girl groups) Screw the "fans" who refuse to listen to any boy groups Screw the "fans" who expect a group's debut to be perfect Screw the "fans" who think most members in a group are filler solely because one member is way more popular than the rest without listening to their music, watching their dance practices, live performances, and variety content to see what they add to the group Screw the "fans" who assume an idol is a bad person until proven otherwise (and say the reason is because they have been surprised to see how many idols turned out to be bad people as if that does not apply to every industry ever when they are really just being racist to Koreans) Screw the "fans" who expect an idol who does a 20 second rap verse in a bubbly pop song to be as good as Kendrick Lamar Screw the "fans" who won't ever give groups credit for attempting a new concept or sound just because it wasn't for them submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

As a casual listener of Nmixx and as someone who keeps up with music charts, I donβt think Iβve ever seen Nmixx chart like this on Korean charts. Keep in mind that this is only a few hours after release and before music show promotions have even started so I can definitely see them topping these charts or coming very close to it as promotions roll out and Iβm so happy for them. For the amount of talent and hard work these girls put in, itβs the least they deserve and itβs looking like JYPE loves to play the long game with their groups as weβre seeing it with Skz, Day6 and now Nmixx. What do you guys think? Will this comeback give them their long awaited hit and what will the international reception be like? submitted by /u/SomewhereOnEarth37 [link] [comments]
I think there are two factors/options to this and some artists have both where others have the first one but desire to remain private: Artists whose music, voice, performance, concepts would be popular among the general public or fit into a certain genre⦠(ex. Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran) Artists whose personality, public interactions, other ventures/projects, and social media presence would be a big hit and interest among the general public⦠(ex. Kelly Clarkson, Keke Palmer, Rihanna, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny) Artists with both: Key, Taemin, Jonghyun, Ten, Mark, Seungkwan, Minho, Baekhyun, Hoshi, Xiaojun?, Chanyeol? Artists with 1 and private: Onew, D.O, Taeyeon, Jaehyun, Changmin, Xiaojun?, Chanyeol?, Kai? submitted by /u/ProudKoreaBoo [link] [comments]
I know this is probably a weird post but I wanted to let it out. I took a break from twitter because of the ongoing controversy related to Soyeon and Yseult (sorry if I misspelt her name) because I got tired of seeing the overload of drama and people making it about fanwars once again instead of looking at issue on hand and other fandoms who also hate Soyeon joined in on that and started calling her names. Safe to say, even though its only been soo little time since I left the app, I already feel much better and can see why others say this a lot. submitted by /u/hellhound_1505 [link] [comments]
Iβve been obsessed with ILLITβs stuff lately & Iβm so happy the Bomb promos went off without any drama. Canβt wait to see what they drop next. I love everything theyβve released. Their songs are just so bright & fun, exactly the kinda pop I need. I think thatβs why I vibe with them so much. I grew up on magical girl shows like Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Ojamajo Doremi, & Wedding Peach, so their whole magical girl concept feels super nostalgic and cute to me. They dropped their Japanese debut in September & Iβve been hooked on every song from the Toki Yo Tomare album. My fave ILLIT songs this year are Do the dance, oops!, bamsopoong, Topping, and Toki Yo Tomare. Iβve had them on repeat nonstop. submitted by /u/sundaepetals [link] [comments]
