Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. i've been thinking about this again these days, and even though it seems like most people have moved on from it and labelled the incident as just that, a mistake, i can't really wrap my head around the fact that she had the 3 symbols of the party in one post, days away from the election (anticipated elections, after the former right wing president declared martial law!). i know she "apologised" on the paid platform bubble and later addressed it again on a youtube show, but i just genuinely cannot believe someone can be that ignorant- it's quite baffling, no? also, whether or not the far-right people power party (ppp) in south korea reflects her views and the post was intentional, sm would've made her apologise for it, regardless if she wanted to or not (like they did when she was in a relationship). moreover, incels and members of said party immediately assumed she was showing support for them and their ideology with that post and took her under their wing right away, which shows how clear the symbolism was to people who actually use it. it's impossible to argue that it wasn't even that blatant when most of the party's base of support and the party itself acknowledges it as an endorsement. in my opinion, the way to properly address it (if it somehow really was an ignorant mistake) was to directly distance herself from the ppp. a vague statement only allows those who proudly embraced her as “one of them” to keep pretending her apology was just fan service rather than an actual rejection of those views. i know most people will say i'm nitpicking or that it has been long enough to just forget about it, but i felt like i should mention since it does cross my mind every time i see aespa content. what do you guys think? submitted by /u/aquamarinesea222 [link] [comments]

The full head bleach is standard for idols, and I've been thinking about the various reasons, and these are the ones I've come up with: 1. It seems more high-fashion due to how much maintanance it requires with regular root touch-ups and treatments to keep it healthy 2. The even canvas is probably better for the constant color changes for comebacks rather than highlights and lowlights 3. Easier to match extensions to 4. Not sure about this but maybe also looks better in stage lighting? 5. Most of them have naturally straight hair (which they do curl sometimes but more often than not they wear it straight), and although a good balayage can look good on straight hair it's often paired with some waves \ light curls These gradient hairstyles tend to be more of a low-maintanance, natural look for everydays, but they are pretty popular in the west and since Korea is influenced by western culture I was wondering if you know of any instances where idols tried it out? submitted by /u/kungfucius_21 [link] [comments]
