1.675. what NOT to do: company edition in recent events

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

so i’m pretty sure we heard the news about haknyeon by now and what the company failed to do was being transparent on the reason why the kicked him out, it didn’t help that the media said that he basically did p* and him later coming out on insta saying that it wasn’t the case so now fans are stuck in confusion on whether he really truly did it or not and still wondering what’s the reason they kicked him out in the first place and i don’t want to bring this up but one thing that SM did right was being transparent on the reason why taeil left and didn’t release a vague and i guess you can say sugarcoated statement, also if he really didn’t commit that then the company or any official party should’ve said smth regarding the allegations (which i hope they do) overall this must be a sad and frustrating time for their fans as these past few weeks/months of scandals haven’t been easy to witness and all i can say is take a break and step down if things are too much to process submitted by /u/Free-Application860 [link] [comments]

1.676. Genuine appreciation for StrayKids, Chan and why I think moving to threads is a great move.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

For the last two days I have been considering to not only post but how to write this to display my thoughts correctly and how I've been feeling for the last two days including since finding out SKZ has joined threads. I basically just wanted to show my genuine care and appreciation to the group from someone who has been with them since debut, I was a pretty d i e hard and cringy fan from 2017 to 2019 and possibly even a little toxic myself to be far. Involving myself in far to much activities (Streaming parties that yes and st upid ly involved having more then one account on YT 🤦‍♀️, voting, Twitter, Bubble, ETC). Truthfully I did delete a lot of them due to my own embarrassment, thankfully around this time I don't think TikTok was a thing yet and although I did try it (as I tried to set up a Kingdom fan profile (kpop male group) my editing was terrible & it just wasn't my thing. And I realize it now of the groups I followed that maybe I wasn't the 'biggest' fan I was, I was probably just the cringest and loudest (SVT, WayV, B.A.P I'm so sorry lol, I also used to have a bad copy of iKON's bling bling hoodie...) When writing this post I came across a couple posts by people who have since deleted their accounts but a lot of their remarks about SKZ are still so true, within it they mentioned how a lot of their confidence has improved not just in general but on stage to. Despite all the issues the group gos through and stuff (which I do not ignore), it seems like around God's Menu, Chan, 3RACHA and the others really started to understand who they were musically and what they liked to perform most on stage. I think a lot of people forget about where a group starts (and even how we as people develop our music taste overtime). Even if I personally still enjoy the 'older' songs and favourites (Levanter, Booster, Astronaut, Maze of Memories, N/S, 0325, Get Cool (my top fav) and Mixtape:Oh) to name a few. I can't help look at them differently now, from the ones that used to comfort me in my darkest times to just purely enjoying the songs. You sometimes can't help but realize Chan's producing skill and his own improvements to. I know sometimes he doesn't always make a song purely by himself, he's more wholesome and inspiring then I think some give him credit for. There may always be good and negatives to every side even more so on the internet but it depends who you engage with and allow yourself to take part in to, with the recent announcement of SKZ joining threads I actually think its a great move I've heard a lot of deleting X/TW because of it to and I think that's a great start. For me personally I would love to see artists moving although I understand it from a marketing stand point it would be interesting to see if artists join BlueSky (a platform I know mostly because of it being originally created for digital design/artists I believe). Sorry for the long post, thanks for letting me get this out~ submitted by /u/Responsible-Box2876 [link] [comments]

1.678. Wonyoung VS K-pop fans is getting tiring. (Mini Rant)

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm honestly so tired of Wonyoung being labeled as a dozen because k-pop fans can't accept that someone being pretty ≠ being bad at everything. She has amazing stage presence, a beautiful voice, good dancing skills AND she can rap! I don't know if it's gg fan jealousy or parasocial boy group fans, but people will find a way to hate on her no matter what. For being fat, for being skinny, for being 'too tall', for being a 'pick me', for being rigged into IZ*ONE, for being a centre, for debuting young, she gets hate simply for the act of being beautiful, talented and successful! The recent discourse about her lip fillers reminded me of this because this isn't just Wonyoung, it's the majority of female idols! Yuna, for hip pads, Karina, for her chest + being Catholic, Sullyoon for not 'fitting in' NMIXX, Wonhee for being a 'bad' singer, Hanni for standing up against a bad company, Yunjin for being a 'hypocrite', Nayeon for getting veneers. The hate against female idols for doing things male idols would never think twice about doing because they KNOW there won't be consequences or criticism is so tiring, especially as a gg fan because I know every week fans are going to pick a new female idol to hate and criticise. submitted by /u/bestjunebug [link] [comments]

1.679. I'm convinced that the IST is behind everything that is happening to The Boyz

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Since all the things that have happening these days I've been sure that there was IST behind. First of all everything I've seen is not even problematic, they just have some bitches, party and smoke, "so shocking!" But even if the info's or some of the info's are true, people are making the situation much bigger than it actually is. There are so much more problematic people in the industry and they go for people that are just living their lives. Every time something like this happens I actually get so pissed off because Koreans have some standards for the idols that are unreal. They don't even think that idols are people at this point. The fact that Tzuyu had to apologise for rising THE FLAG of HER country is unbelievable, while some idols get less hate for rap€. 1.681. MC Mong REMOVED from OneHundred due to "personal reasons"

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This wasnt reported on here or on the main sub but looks like on Friday MC Mong was removed as a producer from 100 and "excluded from company operations due to personal circumstances." With the news of an unnamed producer also being involved in Hacknyeons controversy...i think it would be a reasonable assumption to make that HE was the producer involved This is a personal vindication for myself and others who have spent the last year sounding the alarm on this guy and saying we were worried about his association with Baekhyun. CBX, and Taemin. This man has a storied history of being a shady fraudster. Look at how much controversy all of the acts he recruited to join his company have been under. So, I think its safe to say HES been the problem this whole time. Im personally hoping Taemin has a short contract and he can leave for someplace else soon. As for Baek and CBX maybe they can sue and liquidated their company and move on as well so they can get their money back. Otherwise im worried about them too submitted by /u/127ncity127 [link] [comments]

1.683. A group filled with cultural appropriation debuts and people jump to token-stan it just to continue shading ILLIT

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

The same people who cancel idols over the smallest things are now token stanning Allday Project, a group filled to the brim with blatant cultural appropriation, just because it helps them snark on ILLIT. The same thing happened with Garam and Le Sserafim. People suddenly became her biggest defenders not because they cared, but because it was another convenient way to hate on LSF. Now it’s happening again, this time with Youngseo. Suddenly antis care because she became useful for an anti ILLIT narrative. What did these girls do to anyone??? People are creating fake accounts with ILLIT profile pictures, posting vile shit just to screenshot it and use it as “proof” to attack them. It’s manufactured. It’s targeted. The Black Label has also been moving weird. Every single time ILLIT released something: teasers, photos, MVs, Allday Project drops something right after. The timing is constant. It’s calculated and obvious. What the hell is their problem? None of this is random. This all started with NewJeans and Min Heejin. They encouraged their fans to tear ILLIT apart, turning it into a now year long hate campaign that’s mentally destroyed those girls. Mind you, this was a PLANNED attack. It’s pure cowardice and cruelty and people should never forgive those bullies for the damage they have done. submitted by /u/thebarted [link] [comments]

Hi ! So my boyfriend recently got into k-pop and showed a clip a couple months ago but we can't find it since. I don't remember the lyrics or the song name but there is a passage that marked our minds : it's a girl eating a lollipop while doing hula hoop outside. I know this is so random but it's been living in my head rent free since that fateful day ... Does anyone know the name of that song? Thank you in advance! 1.690. A heartfelt appreciation post dedicated to Min Yoongi🫶🏻

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This is a small appreciation post for Min Suga, whose music found me exactly when I needed it the most.💜 So I’ve been a casual listener of BTS since 2017 when I first stumbled upon their DNA mv, and Jungkook was my bias and the first one who caught my eye. While I kept up with their group music releases, I never really explored the rap line’ solo work or their content outside of the music. It wasn’t until chapter 2 that I truly began to connect with them. I was going through a rough time in my life mentally and emotionally, and then Agust d dropped D day. That album came into my life at the exact moment I needed it most. I don’t know how else to explain it, but it felt like I was being heard. Listening to it made me feel validated. It felt like someone had taken the emotions I couldn’t even articulate and turned them into music. The whole album felt like a warm hug. There’s something about the way Yoongi creates music, it is so vulnerable and comforting that makes you feel like you’re not alone. After that I just went down the Agust D rabbit hole and there was no coming back. And the more I listened, the more I realized how incredibly talented and thoughtful he is. I just love the way he approaches life. Today, I’m not exactly where I thought I’d be in life. I haven’t accomplished all the goals I had expected to achieve . But I’m in a much better headspace than I was before and Yoongi, in a lot of ways, helped me get here. He reminded me that it’s okay to fall behind sometimes, to rest, to feel lost. That you’re allowed to make mistakes. You’re allowed to be human. So yeah. Thank you, Min Yoongi. For creating music that heals. For being honest. For showing us it’s okay to not be okay sometimes. I never expected to get this attached, but here I am lol. submitted by /u/cheesechilisandwich [link] [comments]

1.691. The way misinformation spreads about the Taeil situation is exhausting and concerning

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's been almost a year since the news broke about Taeil's sex crime and it's really concerning how there's still such an abundance of misinformation going around about "who" the victim is and the company/nct's involvement in the situation is. As of June 18th Taeil and his accomplice have been given a sentencing of 7 years after pleading guilty and admitting to all the allegations. He's pleading for a lighter sentence and will likely try to earn it by financially compensating the victim, but as far as I'm aware the victim's lawyers are already trying to shut that down. I've taken notice that a lot of people who were here when the news first broke never stuck around long enough to really understand the details and facts of the case as it progressed. The first night when everything dropped was mass hysteria with so many people either making up claims or just a bunch of questions and confusion being in the mix because there wasn't anything concrete yet. People were claiming he attacked a minor, that the victim's father was the one that broke his leg and not the car accident, that he was blackmailing and hacking into the girl's phone for months on end, etc. Eventually what came from the police was clear: an adult woman was assaulted in June of 2024 and that the details about her and the case would be kept discrete as she was a foreigner who did not want her identity exposed. Tell me why there are still people online running around saying the victim was a child?? I understand there was an instagram account that was going around that claimed to be the victim saying that he was blackmailing and threatening her, but given the information we got from the police and what we knew for a fact about the victim, it didn't really make sense for that account to be real because it just didn't align at all. Yet despite this there are still people who are saying that the victim had spoken out publicly about her trauma when we know for a fact she's trying to remain anonymous? Maybe I'm too sensitive here, but this has absolutely left me seething for the past few hours. How can people be so confident about all the wrong things and then get mad when they're corrected? I don't stan nct, I have one or two songs in my playlist, but when this case came out I was here because I truly wanted to see this woman receive justice. I find it so insane people do not fact check the things they say online about a serious topic and are almost...treating it like it's some sort of drama? And then in the same breath start talking about the other nct members as if that's somehow relevant? I think the topic people actually love to talk about the most in this case isn't hoping to see the victim get justice, it's "there's no way the nct boys didn't know" I have my own opinions on this topic that I don't really feel like getting into but all I'm going to say is that it's really concerning how any conversation about said rapist comes back to his ex group. Like I'm sorry, are you mentally insane? THAT is what you want to focus on??? It's like any productive conversation that can be had on this situation is promptly derailed into conspiracy theories about sm and nct like this is meant to be some sort of petty fanwar. I'm sorry, but if you try to talk about this case and decide to bring in other members in the equation when this is about a man and his very serious crime, I think you're scum. I think you're weird and you need to reevaluate your morals. I needed to get this out because I feel like I'm going insane with how people talk about this case online like I've reached the ninth circle of hell. submitted by /u/Tiny_Worth_3971 [link] [comments]
