I don't really like bts at the moment

I am really struggling with what I have seen in recent years with bts. Their music is still great, but I feel once they got their money and fandom they've changed. Tae has recently collabed with yet another boycotted item (save your opinions on that) and it just reminds me of how they used to be so careful with who they worked with, avoiding anything with controversy. They've now worked with openly Islamophobic people, iofs, and men who've been accused of SA. It seems they don't care at all now they have a fanbase who would even defend fascism for them. Am I alone in this? I don't want to lose hope, I still want to believe they're still the same people who once preached about love and speaking up when things aren't right. submitted by /u/PretentiousTuna [link] [comments]

2.500. Honest review on TWICE's headlining Lollapalooza performance

BEST TWICE PERFORMANCE EVER!!! YES, IT WAS THAT GOOD. Honestly speaking when I first started stanning TWICE in 2017, they never struck me as a performance oriented group, I was always in it for the visuals and music and the group chemistry but boy have they evolved over time! And so beautifully at that. TWICE used to get dragged hell and back for their live vocals, and lack of stage presence but they have proved everyone who spoke on them wrong in the last few years or so with their top tier performances. Last night was amazing!! From the jawdropping NaMo dance break, the perfect diss track ICON and its iconic Chaeyoung rap to the TAKEDOWN live, everything was SO GOOD! They served live vocals, visuals and amazing stage presence as usual. It should be studied actually how TWICE is so good at commanding and controlling the stage even tho none of them are fluent in English. Speaking on English, Nayeon and Jihyo have improved so much As a veteran ONCE I am so happy to see their growth. The production at Lollapalooza left a lot to be desired imo but TWICE made up for it with their charisma. Lmk your thoughts in the comments!! submitted by /u/colossal1020 [link] [comments]

2.504. Kpop idols trying to be sexy, often times looks inorganic to me

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Most idols (regardless of gender) are conventionally attractive, beautiful or even ethereal. But, attractive does not equal sexy. I notice this at times when idols attempt more mature concepts or more openly sexual lyrics, and as an adult, it often feels like they are replicating a teen's idea of a sexy or mature person (even when the artist are adults themselves). They could have the aesthtics down to a T, but the raw sex appeal required to execute them is 90% absent. Maybe its just me, but there is a certain griminess/unseemliness (being okay with not looking perfect), oppenness, flirtation and sense of freedom that is needed for me to really believe it. It often even comes off as the idols aren't having sex, so they don't know what sexy looks like. Opening your shirt, wearing revealing clothes and dancing in a sexual way is at best a textbook method, but I don't know if they are being forced. I also especially notice it when idols do cover or dances of sensual western songs, it's like the company's don't understand what sexy should look like? Or the idols are limiting themselves? submitted by /u/Familiar_Shoe_1340 [link] [comments]

2.505. i-dle songwriters and producers

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

i-dle’s image leans a lot on the idea that they’re a self-produced group and Soyeon especially gets a lot of reputation for writing and producing their songs but the credits for almost every popular song, like Queencard, Tomboy, Wife, Good Thing, Nxde, Allergy, Super Lady, Fate, Revenge there's always these names credited: Daily, Likey and Pop Time what do we know about these people? and what role do they really play in the process? I’m not saying Soyeon isn’t talented because she clearly is and we can see her involved in vocal direction during behind videos she is talented and knows what she’s doing but I was thinking if her involvement in the songwriting and production side is maybe a bit overstated like part of how the group’s been marketed rather than the full picture submitted by /u/MeonEverglow [link] [comments]

2.513. Yuqi and Zhang Hao performing Now (by Troublemaker) was everythingggg

Even though they had teased the song they were performing, I never expected them to stay so close to the original with all the skinship and everything!! Like having a 4th + 5th gen collab stage with a Troublemaker song is crazy to me but I'm SO happy they decided to do it. The concept was perfect for the two of them and their voices really suited the song as well, it was just a complete 10/10 performance to me. Hao and Yuqi worked SO well together, I feel like I need 10 more collab stages with the two of them or better, make them a co-ed group. Performance Link submitted by /u/outrodahlia [link] [comments]

2.518. Do you listen to the whole repackage album or just the new songs?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

As the title says; when your favorite group has a repackage do you just listen to the new songs or the remixes or do you listen to the whole album? Same with the japanese releases, do you listen to the japanese versions of their korean title tracks or just the original japanese songs. submitted by /u/jdpm1991 [link] [comments]
