I really hate the way some fans are using kpop idol’s death for clout.

Golden just hit 6th in the BB100, and might as well hit the top spot soon. I've seen many people love this song, and I've heard it a couple of times, and I thought it was ok, but not as good as everyone claims it is. To me, it just sounds like a less powerful copy of I AM, by IVE, a group I stan. The verse and refrain were fire, but than it just fell from there. I believe the song is so overrated. Takedown, Your Idol, How It's Done, all miles better than Golden, in my opinion. Why do you think this song was the one that hit with the viewers the most? Also, following the success of the song, do you think I AM and Rebel Heart will becomr successful in the US? submitted by /u/KeinkoMusic35 [link] [comments]

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Hey everyone, Today Jo Yuri is back with a new mini album. The last time she released an album was back in 2023, and it's time to see what she has been cooking. I've been enjoying everything she has been releasing since her solo debut in 2021. I've been waiting and anticipating what she'll bring to the table. Now, let's dive into this record and explore what the singer has brought to the table with this new album. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/pocti67otvcf1.jpg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07ab7b0e0fbe46798e7d7fb40d24d6fda0fd5586 Episode 25 - Jo Yuri 이제 안녕! The title track opens up the album, bringing in a pop-rock vibe that fits perfectly with her sweet voice. The melody is one thing that brings this tune to life as the singer hits some killer notes. Yuri's performance sounds like a breath of fresh air since it feels like a long time since we heard original music from her. The hook sounds like it could be used in an Anime, which put a smile on my face. The more I hear this tune, the more I find that this tune Yuri coded. I can't wait to have this tune on repeat cause this is a perfect title track for the singer and one that welcomes her back. https://preview.redd.it/o401d0t0uvcf1.jpg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=882d5c8fa3a2b0c5bcc8ff7353c0ce75e3dc6497 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 개와 고양이의 시간 The second track on the album was pre-released on July 7th, and I've been listening to it a lot, gathering my thoughts on it. One thing I love about this tune is that Jo Yuri co-produced it. This track reminds me of something that you could hear playing in a cafe. The breathy vocal performance fits the melody that moves the tune forward. The percussion has a groovy/jazzy vibe to it. The vocals are fantastic as Yuri continues to impress me once again on this album. I'm glad she pre-released this tune cause it's been on repeat like crazy as it's becoming one of my favorites. https://preview.redd.it/s6z019lcuvcf1.jpg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1111c53718a9d5c789c318cc8fed8288fb81ecd3 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ HICCUP The third song on the album brings in a funky vibe that pulled me right into the mix as I was listening to it this morning. Yuri fits this funky vibe like fine wine. The funky nature of the instrumental gives this tune a bit of a '90s vibe. The hook slaps with the melody that helps it stick in my mind, as I've heard this tune a few times today. Yuri hits hard with the vocal performance as she blends wonderfully with the smooth nature of the instrumental, also delivering. I find that this tune could've been released by a group, and it would still hit as hard as it does with it being released by a soloist. https://preview.redd.it/6yt9l2rjuvcf1.jpg?width=320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cfb7551a6ae366925c193bda482da915f3511e07 ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ 4. 잠수해 The fourth song on the album goes for an R&B vibe with a robotic backup vocal that blends perfectly with the breathy delivery. Yuri fits well with the R&B instrumental that breathes new life into this album. The track also has a groovy hook that keeps popping up in my head today. The melody is smooth, helping to craft this bouncy feeling. Yuri continues to hit hard as she has a great voice that can sing over anything. I also love the guitar, which helps craft that R&B sound that works so well with the singer. https://preview.redd.it/n388k6cmuvcf1.jpg?width=194&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9ae846ff92c5d776a3b9b87d38397b325b5321ab ━━━━━━━━☓ ━━━━━━━ Overkill The closing track on the project does a great job of pulling you into the vibe of the tune. The first verse moves into the mix slowly, almost having a ballad vibe, before the dark nature hits the listener. The vocals blend wonderfully as Yuri delivers the lyrics in English. You can feel the emotion throughout the song as it does a terrific job closing out the album. This dark electro-pop tune fits the singer's performance, reminding me of something Lady Gaga could do. I didn't know I needed this dark electro-pop tune from Yuri as a closer to her album, but I did. https://preview.redd.it/c9agjvxruvcf1.jpg?width=201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=42bede97a96e547059c63390f3e3ecee53065d9b ┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Summary: Jo Yuri returned with a new album that hits hard with the production and the vocals. It's hard to pick a favorite on the record, as these tunes are all becoming my favorite. The title track goes for this pop-rock sound that is perfect for Yuri and her vocal performance. I'm glad the soloist is back with a record I know will be on repeat for me, as it's something I want to hear again, even after already hearing it a few times. I can't wait to see what other songs Yuri will release in the future with her impressive idiosyncrasies. ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ https://preview.redd.it/vzdyc5esuvcf1.jpg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=929bfc30f1d488005161345a6af3edcddddcded2 submitted by /u/Maltifandom23 [link] [comments]
Makes me wonder about the existence of a BPxBTS group chat. So sad that we dont fully get to see both of these groups interacting because of the fans but I'd like to imagine that they're good friends haha lol. submitted by /u/rrraemi [link] [comments]

It’s honestly so frustrating and disrespectful how some people immediately turn a tragedy into an opportunity for attention. A K-pop idol just passed away, and instead of focusing on mourning, offering support, or just being quiet and respectful, you see posts and comments that feel performative like people are trying to be the “most devastated” or are using it as a way to farm likes, followers, or retweets. Some even start drama or fanwars under memorial posts, which is just disgusting. I get that we all grieve differently, but there’s a line between genuine grief and exploiting someone’s death for engagement. It feels like the actual person who passed is being treated more like a trending topic than a human being. Please remember they were real someone’s child, someone’s friend, not just a celebrity or a headline. Let people grieve respectfully. Stop chasing clout over someone’s loss. submitted by /u/Consistent-Pop-8879 [link] [comments]
I have seen a post circulating twt and tiktok about how NCT 127 contract renewals are soon and i have some thoughts and would like to hear from other people too. I also like participating in doom thoughts. There are some obvious answers for which way the members will go. I think Taeyong will stay, he has been a favourited member (yeah the company is harsh on him but he has two albums, a tour that was filmed and put into cinemas internationally, it is likely he’ll ask for a few more niceties from the company in the future but I don’t see SM letting him go easily (he was a JaeJoong replacement after all)). I also see Ten in a similar light. Doyoung and Jeahyun too I see renewing their contracts. I really don’t see a reason why they wouldn’t (if you want to enlighten me on any particular reasons feel free) On the other side of obvious answers: most foreign members. No surprise SM doesn’t care for their non-Korean members. Ten is not even an exception to this rule but he has a very strong fan base (something I have noticed with many Thai idols) which is why i have grouped him with Taeyong at the start. Yuta is (i think) very obviously not renewing - at least for solo work. As someone who‘s ult bias is Yuta it would be sad to see him go. SM was looking for their first Japanese trainee, he made it through their international auditions and they picked him, worked him hard, and then repaid him with two lines in every title track - yes even their Japanese singles. (Only more recently getting a line beyond ‘mono-drama, melodrama‘) He is the reason NCT got popular in Japan in the first place, and yet they can’t even treat him fairly (missing his face in the intro to NCT Nation) The 7th Sense unit all got solo work published and marketed pretty fairly (although sometimes not scheduled well but when you have 4 units and many solo artists and members enlisting i assume it can be quite difficult). When it comes to Yuta’s solo work Depth was announced the day before it released, people thought it was going to be released after or during his tour. The BTS content is minimal in comparison to everyone else’s and even other content is behind a paywall. If you want to see the lack of promotion go to the NCT instagram page and go through the highlights for each member’s solo work and see how many posts they made in comparison to Yuta. In the most recent NCT 127 video for their 9th anniversary, the discussion of what they want for their 10th anniversary comes up and each member says something apart from Yuta (I can acknowledge he was fresh off a plane from Japan and his concert). The disengagement with 127 content recently could either be down to Taeyong and Jaehyun (two of close friends within the group) not being there, or just simply he sees a future beyond the band, or perhaps both. He does also have 127 tattooed on his arm in a padlock so the band must mean something significant for him to have done that in the first place. I have seen him reject what it means to be an idol in a sense in more recent years, I don’t think he particularly cares for the model, he doesn’t do trends, he doesn’t do tiktoks unless its for a member specifically, he doesn’t massively play into parasocial relationships. If he left the band entirely i would understand why and be a little surprised (I would be upset of course I think he is a big part of the band). I most likely believe he might go down a SHINee/ Red Velvet route and just resign for the band and not his solo work. (this turned into a Yuta think piece I apologise) Mark and Haechan i think would stay too. I think whatever they chose to do they would do it together, a sort of package deal with these guys. Maybe they make a plea for better organisation between 127 and Dream schedules, but I do not see them leaving. Despite the overworking the two of them seem to be pretty well favoured, Mark being the most obvious show of the two. I think Mark could ask for anything and get it, he is essentially the poster boy for NCT and a very well known idol under SM, i doubt they would let him go without a tough fight. Haechan I think would go with whatever Mark does, i think that they have been through so much together already they wouldn’t separate. Johnny is a wild card in this. Rejected from EXO, almost left the company, debuted with 127 later than the original line up… he is now doing pretty well in the business and reputation side of their band, I see him invited to a lot of events and such, he also DJs on the side which I guess is what he is doing rather than doing a traditional solo album? (Although seeing the crowds piss me off because why are people just stood recording him instead of dancing in the clubs/ events please you are making this awkward for everyone involved just put your phone away and vibe). Maybe it is the lack of him doing anything anywhere in NCT songs that makes me have this view of him not making a solo album. I think he would be a good host and i hope to see more of host Johnny in the future, something like Nopogy or Muk2u would've suited him really well. I don’t know to what extent it would be worth Johnny not renewing his contract As i do not know what he would be doing. Jungwoo I think would stay, but this is down to the fact he hasn’t had a lot of solo work so I really don’t know how it would pan out for him. He has mentioned a solo album and I assume he’d release it under SM, he also has Nopogy which is pretty successful and enjoyed by many fans. (i am not sure as to when Jungwoo’s contract will expire due to him debuting later than the others). NCT Dream (I am pretty sure they have a couple more years), Renjun perhaps will follow a route similar to Yuta, depending how the future pans for Chenle him too. (It is known that a lot of Chinese k-pop idols go back to China and are very successful). The Korean members (at this point in time) would likely stay. I am not too sure if WayV contracts even run at a parallel time to 127 or not- but their case confuses me entirely because I cannot decide whether they would stay at all? The consistent mistreatment, the lack of popularity compared to other units. I see the members being very dedicated to their band and they likely stay despite what pessimism is telling me, i am sensing a case of Them being able to pursue solo work individually and not through SM. Also: this is all from outsiders perspective with what the members and company have displayed over the years, obviously this is JUST SPECULATION, and everyone is entitled to their own opinions on this situation. submitted by /u/Extra-Tumbleweed7062 [link] [comments]
I did a similar post a few days ago for boy groups and I got a lot of responses, while also being introduced to a lot of good songs that I missed out on. I have come to realise that I have more bg music in my playlist then gg so I want to change that slightly. I think overall I do prefer boy groups but I want to open up a bit more and try new things I OBVIOUSLY know black pink and have heard quite a lot of their songs. Aespa is also another group that I enjoy. other than that I'm not sure where to go from here. I'm not really into the super cute concepts or anything that's too bubblegum pop...pls help if you can lol submitted by /u/Thick-Yesterday-761 [link] [comments]

I just saw Everglow's post and it really is AI (I don't know, but I think they are without a company??), but like, we've seen several cases so far of companies using AI, there's always a negative reaction, but they keep doing it the same way. I know it could be to cut costs, and I can even try to understand smaller companies with "nugu" groups. Well, I'm not against AI; I do research myself. But when it comes to art and content sales, It's so dishonest. Besides, it's also quite poorly done. submitted by /u/azio_o [link] [comments]
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about the new BigHit boy group, and it made me wonder—what’s the actual difference between BigHit and HYBE? Did BigHit just change their name to HYBE, or are they now separate companies? I’m a bit confused and would appreciate someone explaining how they’re related. submitted by /u/Consistent-Pop-8879 [link] [comments]

Seeing the announcement of the debut of the new big hit boy group made me thing about trainee A. For those who do know Trainee A was a predebut boy group under big hit that its debut got cancelled. I didn’t keep up with them. But I’m aware that the member Leo got into some controversy that made him decide to leave the team. The point of the discussion it’s not about the members as individuals, but the expectations that people put into predebut groups and the disappointment that leads many immature people to hate and keep comparing each other. There are several exemples of “what if” like ADP Youngseo, that was a predebut member of ILLIT, even a trainee of predebut newjeans or ADP Woonchan who was part of Trainee A. So my take is that we need to stop thinking about the “what ifs”. There is nothing wrong with it but ONLY doing this will take you nowhere. The amount of comparison youngseo and illit are getting it’s insane. And I’m sure new the bh bg will too. It’s tiering to see people stuck in the past. That is why is a double edge sword for the companies to decide to announce their predebut group waaaaay before their debut. (Ik that illit was formed through a survival show so that wasn’t a possibility but many others could have been avoided.) Even babymonster, but in their case I think it was helpful cause the fans wanted all of them to debut and yg just wanted 5 (or he did that just for more audience, who knows). What are your thoughts about this? submitted by /u/primrose-violet [link] [comments]
When it comes to the success of an idol people look towards their international success and then their homeland success. I think it is not rash to argue that the South Korean public are likely not going to be tuning into - given that they are the ones that wanted him gone in the first place. Perhaps that’s the reason SM has stuck those other two boys with him, to give him some sort of push. On the other hand, international fans are talking a big game at supporting him as a solo artist and making sure to tune in and stream but I will have to see it to believe it. Perhaps I am just being pessimistic. Briize can argue that RIIZE are doing well as a band- and I suppose they are in South Korea, but if the Seunghan scandal had not occurred they would be miles above the level they are at now internationallay. It is evident that SM are pushing their other Gen5 boygroup NCT Wish way more because they have more public support in South Korea (and have even started their next with the way they dragged those trainees to SMTOWN tour). A lot of people tuned out of RIIZE because of the whole unfair treatment scenario so Xnghan has lost a lot of support there too. As someone who attended SMTOWN in London, everyone knew Boom Boom Bass since it was one of their early songs, but once Fly Up started the crowd was much quieter (i will say this could be down to less English words). There has definitely been lower numbers of fans between RIIZING and ODYSSEY, which will also effect the amount of people who are aware of and willing to support. I suppose there is still time for international fans to get back on with RIIZE, I see it being younger fans. His debut has got to be something very well marketed and also impressive to win people back on his side. It is a shame that a young boy has lost a career and years and hours of work and effort to some people who believe they have authority over strangers, and I do hope this all works for him, but I also cannot see him doing exceedingly well. submitted by /u/Extra-Tumbleweed7062 [link] [comments]
