Hatsune Miku has been huge for years, but her music is built from Saki Fujita’s recorded samples and performed through software and projections. That’s powerful as a concept, but it means Miku can’t step onto a stage herself, accept an award, or interact directly with fans. Huntrix is different. Their voices come from real artists — EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami — who sing every song from start to finish. That makes them more than just a “virtual act.” If they wanted, these singers could perform live, grab an award in person, or even hold fan interactions. If their music is real, their vocals are real, and their fanbase is real, then why aren’t Huntrix recognized as a real K-pop group? To me, it feels unfair to dismiss them just because they’re animated when their physical presence is already built into the foundation. submitted by /u/NoBuilder1638 [link] [comments]

Hello, everyone! I'm back to have as cheerful and safe a space as I can carve out on the internet! Fell off the face of the planet there for a moment, but I return to you with my August Wrap-Up! If you've never seen one of my posts before, as a hobby and to keep up to date myself on kpop releases, I write kpop reviews, keep track of music show wins, and also celebrate songs and groups because fans deserve a space without hostility (I recently ended up in kpop twitter because I was looking for some specific information, I very quickly backed out because yikes). And since I finally posted enough reviews in a month to warrant a wrap-up again, as well as finally having the motivation to do a Battle of the B-Sides post, here you go. This came via The Form. If you want to submit a song, now that I'm actively doing them again, I welcome suggestions. Big groups, small groups, soloists. Regular reviews, even. They'll go to the top of the backlog. I know that back a few months ago, I said I wasn't going to be posting the reviews individually on here anymore, and instead just post the monthly wrap-ups, but there may be some of you who have never seen my posts before. So, as a sample of my review style in case you're leery of reading anything in the wrap-up (because let's be real, I could in fact be a hater using this to bash on groups (I'm not, and any faults I find with a song have almost nothing to do with the group or artist, usually) and no one wants to read inflammatory words like that), I will offer the ones from the last week. Ideally what happens is you find a group or a song that wasn't on your radar that you start to love, which is kind of my goal in sharing these as a vehicle to your possible introduction. And make it as positive an introduction as I honestly can do. 8/27 IVE "XOXZ" Chanyeol (EXO) "Happy Accident" {Pre-Release} 8/28 ZZONE (Good Day/cignature) "Devil's Jam" {Debut} 8/29 Sunmi (Wonder Girls) "BLUE!" Lee Seokhoon "AFTER GROWING UP" Bada (S.E.S) "Love wave" 8/30 Lim Young Woong "Eternal Moment" 8/31 GIRLSET "Commas" {Debut} Soojin (i-dle) "BADITUDE" 9/2 Purple Kiss "DOREMI" TEMPEST "Unfreeze" Monsta X "N the Front" 9/3 BATTLE OF THE B-SIDES Stray Kids "MEGAVERSE" NCT Wish "COLOR" But wait! There's more! I put this together a few weeks ago as the start for a comprehensive K-Pop randomizer for myself. It's got over 3700 songs on it. I'm planning on doing a version 2 in a few months that's bigger and better, but in the meantime, I hope you find a song you've never heard of, but more than that, I hope you can use this as a resource however you'd like to use it. The Random K-Pop Wheel, at your disposal! Okay! Peace out! Thank you for your time and attention, even if you're not reading any of these. You're probably busy, and you're taking valuable time to read these words, even if you didn't actually make it down here to read them. So, thank you. I'll be back either for the September wrap-up, or the April one, whichever comes first. You're lovely! Have a lovely day/night/existence, whichever applies, and I'll see y'all next time! submitted by /u/Latter-Geologist2401 [link] [comments]

Every time a ragebaiter comments "Next X", "Bombayah with X" and anything to do with "Taeil" on posts, people would reply "Next X", " Bombayah with X" and "Taeil" to them. I find it disgusting because they shouldn't be using dead people's names, joking about awful things, and mentioning a guy who committed a horrendous crime. Please respect idols and other people who have passed away. Please respect his victim and other SA victims. They are real people. People replying to them are just as horrible as the ragebaiters. Ragebaiters love attention and people are giving them what they want. submitted by /u/freezerkeeper [link] [comments]

This was partially inspired by the ggum keychain situation, and also about the other allegations going around in kpop nowadays. Why are kpop stans so comfortable calling everything plagiarism, even basic concepts or elements? If there's some green grass, someone will call plagiarism. If it's falling out of the sky, or red hearts, there will be plagiarism allegations. If it's moles or hair colour or a clothing item, someone will call it copying. If something even has a similar colour palette, it's considered plagiarism. However, when there is legitimate plagiarism involved, kpop stans just ignore the issue? Some people might say that the sh figure isn't plagiarising the ggum figure since they have different outfits and aren't carbon copies of each other, but what they fail to acknowledge is the fact that belift was CLEARLY inspired by the ggum figure, even using it as a reference (shown at 2:45 in the behind the scenes video), but didn't give proper credit or consent. The company didn't consult with the ggum artist or commission them to make sunghoon's figure, and the client for the original commission was BIGHIT, not HYBE. Bighit and belift operate completely separate from each other, so it makes no sense that belift would reuse the designs from bighit. Additionally, the "same manufacturer" excuse doesn't even make sense as the manufacturer has almost no say in the actual design. The plagiarism claims isn't because of moles or the concept of the figures, but because the ggum figure WAS used as reference and for ideas, and wasn't given ANY credit. If you guys have learned how to cite things in school to avoid plagiarism, I'm sure you can understand the concept here. What i dont understand is how some people treat this issue like its no big deal, or even an overreaction. And before any kpop stans come for me, I'm sure that this wasn't sunghoons own doing, so don't hate on any of the artists involved. Instead, ask the company why they're so ok with reusing old designs, ignoring sunghoon's own artistic input, and disrespecting the work of Yeonjun and the artist. Belift could've easily commissioned another artist, or even the same artist, to work on sunghoon's figure and give it a unique look that contributes to his own artistic identity, or just make sure the process is ethical, instead of stealing from a small artist who has no power to do anything about it. The anger should be directed towards the company, not any of the groups involved, and we definitely shouldn't be deflecting or ignoring the problem. submitted by /u/Particular-Crew2613 [link] [comments]
Tell the reason why they're your favorite and your experience as a fan. My favorite girl groups of all time are Sistar, WJSN, IVE, and KiiiKiii. submitted by /u/CrimsonThicket [link] [comments]

Who would be the one group you would stan and why ? It could be from any generation, current, or disbanded. This is a hard question I can barely answer, but I would have to say Ateez. I enjoy all the members and their concepts. submitted by /u/otaku_hotgurl888 [link] [comments]
