210. I wish people stop replying to ragebaiters

Every time a ragebaiter comments "Next X", "Bombayah with X" and anything to do with "Taeil" on posts, people would reply "Next X", " Bombayah with X" and "Taeil" to them. I find it disgusting because they shouldn't be using dead people's names, joking about awful things, and mentioning a guy who committed a horrendous crime. Please respect idols and other people who have passed away. Please respect his victim and other SA victims. They are real people. People replying to them are just as horrible as the ragebaiters. Ragebaiters love attention and people are giving them what they want. submitted by /u/freezerkeeper [link] [comments]

212. Why is plagiarism so normalised in kpop nowadays?

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This was partially inspired by the ggum keychain situation, and also about the other allegations going around in kpop nowadays. Why are kpop stans so comfortable calling everything plagiarism, even basic concepts or elements? If there's some green grass, someone will call plagiarism. If it's falling out of the sky, or red hearts, there will be plagiarism allegations. If it's moles or hair colour or a clothing item, someone will call it copying. If something even has a similar colour palette, it's considered plagiarism. However, when there is legitimate plagiarism involved, kpop stans just ignore the issue? Some people might say that the sh figure isn't plagiarising the ggum figure since they have different outfits and aren't carbon copies of each other, but what they fail to acknowledge is the fact that belift was CLEARLY inspired by the ggum figure, even using it as a reference (shown at 2:45 in the behind the scenes video), but didn't give proper credit or consent. The company didn't consult with the ggum artist or commission them to make sunghoon's figure, and the client for the original commission was BIGHIT, not HYBE. Bighit and belift operate completely separate from each other, so it makes no sense that belift would reuse the designs from bighit. Additionally, the "same manufacturer" excuse doesn't even make sense as the manufacturer has almost no say in the actual design. The plagiarism claims isn't because of moles or the concept of the figures, but because the ggum figure WAS used as reference and for ideas, and wasn't given ANY credit. If you guys have learned how to cite things in school to avoid plagiarism, I'm sure you can understand the concept here. What i dont understand is how some people treat this issue like its no big deal, or even an overreaction. And before any kpop stans come for me, I'm sure that this wasn't sunghoons own doing, so don't hate on any of the artists involved. Instead, ask the company why they're so ok with reusing old designs, ignoring sunghoon's own artistic input, and disrespecting the work of Yeonjun and the artist. Belift could've easily commissioned another artist, or even the same artist, to work on sunghoon's figure and give it a unique look that contributes to his own artistic identity, or just make sure the process is ethical, instead of stealing from a small artist who has no power to do anything about it. The anger should be directed towards the company, not any of the groups involved, and we definitely shouldn't be deflecting or ignoring the problem. submitted by /u/Particular-Crew2613 [link] [comments]

I just saw someone compare vixx's chained up to saja boys 💀 I can't even get myself to watch the movie bc I'm already sick of it. submitted by /u/xlov_mother_muti [link] [comments]

223. Kang Daniel Dam-Yi wooden keychains

Apparently Kang Daniel is doing a concert in our local area tonight and my friends are attending. If their artist has a k-pop avatar or character I often make wooden keychains for them to give out to others attending the concert while they wait in endless lines. I like listening to various artists but am not fond of crushing heat or crowds. Sending little freebies with my friends lets me feel connected though. Here are a few versions of Dam-Yi in cat hats, k-drama attire, and stage outfits that Kang Daniel has worn over the years. Hopefully they will find new homes tonight and my friends have a great time. submitted by /u/Jindo31 [link] [comments]

I love that man so much it's ruining alot of things for me. I cry every single night because i can't be with him or see how he's doing. It's taking a toll on me and if i stop looking at him i'll become depressed and sad even more. He has done so much for me and i will never abandon him if it kills me. He makes me infinitely happy, and has made me into a happy person. It's maybe just a side effect?? I can't stop thinking and dreaming about him either. Just sharing a little bit of stuff on my mind lately. Anyway, borahae!! submitted by /u/Jiminisall [link] [comments]

227. It's amazing that ILLIT has a female-dominated fanbase. All of the cheering in this video is from women.

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

90.4% of people who attended their "GLITTER DAY" concerts in Seoul were female. I heard that the male bathroom temporarily turned into a female bathroom in Olympic Hall (Seoul) because there was an overwhelming number of women attending the concert. Most people who went to ILLIT's pop-up store in Harajuku, Japan were women in their 30s and 40s. ILLIT will sure have a long career and I hope they will be more successful in the future. submitted by /u/cyberstacked [link] [comments]

228. I didn’t pay to hear you scream-sing off pitch

  • 2 days ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Why are there so many posts telling fans they have to act, dance, and sing at concerts? That’s not how concerts work. The performance is already happening on stage. That’s who we paid to see. Not everyone wants to scream-sing or jump around. Some people are shy. Some have disabilities. Some just want to watch. And that’s fine. Honestly, I didn’t pay to hear someone scream off pitch right next to my ear or have hair whipped into my face. That doesn’t add to the vibe. It makes it worse. I recently hurt my leg, so I had to sit for most of the show. It reminded me of K-pop concerts I’ve been to in Japan, where everyone could enjoy the performance without teens acting like they were the idol next to me. Cheer, clap, enjoy yourself. But stop policing how others experience the show. The idols are the performers, not the crowd and certainly not you. submitted by /u/nununagi [link] [comments]
