2.763. which groups do you wanna hear more from/wish we heard more when they were still active?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was really hyped when got the beat was announced, 7 amazingly iconic and talented ladies ranging from 1-4 gen compiled into one legendary supergroup. However to this day they’ve only released 2 title tracks and I really wanna hear more from them. I’m still waiting for their lightstick to come out!! Idk how that would work exactly considering how wendy left SM recently… And although this is probably controversial, I wish we got more VCHA. I don’t condone the company’s actions towards the members of everything they’re accused of is true, but I feel like they have something that katseye just doesn’t really fulfil for me (not hating or anything). As for groups that are disbanded but I wish I heard more from, the first thing that comes to mind for me is definitely fx. I think SM could’ve done a lot more for them and their experimental, alternative concept which turned out to be futuristic. Gfriend is also a group I wish was given more exposure in terms of media and music. I think they recently reunited but I still think they’re still a bit under promoted. Wish I grabbed a lightstick when I got the chance cuz now I can’t find one at all submitted by /u/redlipstick1010 [link] [comments]

2.765. To certain people in certain YouTube comment sections

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I just saw a comment on a video of a creator I follow that pissed me off, as it was from the same video that this person made a snide ass reply to my comment to the reactor before then deleting the reply a couple hours later... Girl, wt actual f are you talking about? No one is doxxing Plave in her comment section, especially not me, and I know it was directed at me given the reply you deleted to my comment on the video... I have not, nor will I ever talk about Plave members in public using anything other than their names as Plave members... I have never referred to their previous groups by name, even vaguely, or used any specific years or anything that could even tell what gen groups I was talking about... The only way you could have known who or what I was referring to is if you already knew that specific information... The stupidest part about this is that this was a comment on a reaction to the live where they read their letters to their past selves, everything I talked about was stuff they talked about in that live and other lives where they talked about the time before and around becoming Plave... About them, especially the producing line having all but given up making music for themselves before they became members of Plave and got this amazing second chance... Bamby and Eunho talked about knowing each other as kids, you don't have to know who they are outside of Plave to know that they've been close friends for a long time... Also, your reply to me that you deleted was weird af, I'm sorry if my having been a kpop fan for longer than you makes you insecure, but that's not my problem, talking about loving them for so long was to show how happy I am for them to have gotten this second chance, how proud I am of them, and was not somehow a slight to you... Anyone that has been into kpop as long as I have, especially boy groups, knows who the members are, their singing/rapping & speaking voices aren't altered in any way, especially with how often they go live it's hard not to know who they are if you recognize their speaking voices, laughs, mannerisms, and even the way they dance... It's considered an open secret, especially if you see the Korean side of the fandom, they don't hide who they are in the song credits or anything either... But again, I have never and will never talk about who they are on the internet as anything other than them as Plave members, and acting like I have or will is infuriating, I would never do anything to bring any harm to any of them, even with words typed online... Also, FYI , this reactor is someone I've known and been friends with online for over six years, and I was commenting to her, not you, she knows I've been into kpop since 2008 and that I know who the members are, along with a lot of our mutual friends who have been into kpop longer than when she got into it around seven years ago, so I don't even know why you decided to take anything I said to her so personally... That live was emotional af, even watching her react to it had me crying again, and that comment section was nothing but love for them, saying that's the last time you'll comment on 1 of her Plave videos because of other comments is weird af, especially given the context of that specific video and comment section, the only one bringing anything but love and positivity there was you submitted by /u/LadyMidnight1981 [link] [comments]

2.767. Why people overrate the beautiful of kpop idols?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I went to SMTOWN in London — it was my first time in the crowd of a K-pop show. As a non-K-pop fan, I really liked the vibe, the music was nice, but the people around me (I went with my wife and she included) kept calling the idols beautiful — both boys and girls — like they were examples of perfection, almost deifying them. I know each have their own tastes but i didn’t get why, to me, they seemed a little uncanny. I’m not hating on them, just asking. submitted by /u/Sufficient_Meat_7412 [link] [comments]

heyyy~ so i finally gave in and made a k-pop edit channel on youtube lol. it’s super new and i’m kinda figuring it out as i go, but if you’re into edits, idol aesthetics, drama clips, or just wanna support a fellow k-pop mess, come check it out just wanna reach the right people who actually like the content. if you vibe with it, drop a like or sub, i’ll love you forever 😭 also open to recs, feedback, or just making edit buddies. submitted by /u/psychedelic_8591 [link] [comments]

2.769. Which KPOP company do you think is underrated or doesn't deserve their hate?

  • reddit.com language

I actually like the company for KISS OF LIFE (S2 entertainment). They never argued with the shows that kicked KIOF out but knew what KIOF did was bad and accepted it. Also S2 ENTERTAINMENT was the first to apologise very quickly. I have also come to like STARSHIP ENTERTAINMENT although their staff for IVE is bad and their promotions absolutely suck i think the thing i like is their stylist for KIIIKIII. Its so cute and age appropriate!! submitted by /u/Top-Owl4039 [link] [comments]

2.774. some stays are making everything about straykids. Imo

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I know this is a big claim to say. But its what i personally see. So please do note, most stays are great, many friends i have are stays and I personally like straykids also alot. But this is a thing that happens to many groups that get big, like bts or blackpink. That when you get so many fans, which all those groups deserve, their will be more bad fans cus their are more fans. What i have seen tho recently more and more eis some very toxic stays. Like on a video, not related to straykids at all, about haruto from treasure covering bigbang, bang bang bang. He coverd T.O.P rap part and the video was just saying, wow haruto rap is so good. And the comments were just praise for haruto. Some dreamcatcher fans commenting on how haruto and dami both did great. But some stays went into the comments and not being to nice. They said things like: no straykids did it better, Straykids raps way better, Why dont you mention straykids. Like get you like straykids. BUT THIS VIDEO WANST ABOUT THEM. their are so many videos about straykids cover of bang bang bang, no treasure makers go their and be mean. Then on a video i just saw it was even crazier. The video was about idols making fin of their ceo's, just for laughs ofc. And it mentioned itzy, nmixx and treasure. And half the comments were stays saying that straykids did this and it was so much more funny, that straykids should be mentioned and so on. Just chill guys, not every video needs straykids. And let some other groups also have a moment. Yes many other groups also did this, like babymonster and blackpink and yes also straykids. Ofc no hate to all the stays out there. But i just wanted to talk about this, cus we cant keep saying amry and blinks always be hatefull when other fandome's do the same. And its not straykids fault, nor the stays. Its because when a fandome is langer the group of bad fans also gets lager submitted by /u/lilgreen13789 [link] [comments]

2.777. If you invade their privacy, you’re not a gan, you’re the problem.

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

BIGHIT’s latest statement should be a wake-up call, but somehow, we’ve seen this same pattern over and over. A BTS member’s home was nearly broken into. Let that sink in. Someone tried to physically enter their house. This isn’t “passionate fandom.” It’s obsession, it’s delusion, and it’s criminal. There’s this twisted idea in some corners of the K-pop world that loving an idol gives you permission to follow them everywhere, record them without consent, leak their locations, or track their families. That’s not love. That’s control. That’s entitlement. And anyone who engages in or defends that kind of behavior is actively harming the very people they claim to support. Idols are not dolls in a display case. They are human beings with boundaries that must be respected. The fact that this even needs to be said in 2025 is exhausting. Fame does not mean forfeiting your right to safety or peace of mind. Being an idol doesn’t mean you “owe” fans access to your private life. No one does. And let’s stop sugarcoating the sasaeng issue. It's not quirky. It’s not a fandom trope. It's stalking. It’s harassment. It’s abuse. And too often, it’s ignored or enabled by people who think “real fans go further.” No. Real fans know when to stop. If you truly care about an artist, you don’t hurt them. You don’t traumatize them. You don’t make them feel unsafe in their own home. What happened here is terrifying and what’s worse is that it’s not even rare anymore. It’s time the K-pop community takes this seriously. This behavior is not part of the culture. It’s a threat to the people who give us their art, their time, and their energy. The bare minimum we owe them is respect. submitted by /u/Seesawey [link] [comments]

2.781. LOONA and NMIXX are actually the most talented girl groups in K-pop. Yes, I said it.

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Okay hear me out before you come for my wig 👀 I’m not saying they’re the biggest or most awarded — I’m saying when it comes to pure skill (vocals, dance, stage, musical risk-taking), LOONA and NMIXX are on a whole different tier. LOONA is literally “The 12-member group with zero filler” who was mismanaged by their company. I mean.. Their subunit system (1/3, OEC, yyxy) was designed to showcase each member’s strength before debut — and it worked. Vocals? Kim Lip, Chuu, Jinsoul, Yves, Haseul, etc. are all main vocal level. Dancers? Olivia Hye, Heejin, Yves, and Yeojin go toe-to-toe with elite dancers in the industry. The choreography for “Butterfly” and “Paint The Town”? Sharp, emotional, visually stunning. They tackle concepts other groups wouldn’t dare touch — ethereal, experimental, layered. They weren’t built for virality — they were built for longevity and artistry. If they had SM or HYBE backing? Game over. Plus +++++ NMIXX “The 4th-gen group with main vocals only” yk Lily, Haewon, and Sullyoon are not just stable. They’re powerhouse vocalists who could carry solos easily. MR-removed performances? They slay. No excuses, no backing track crutches. Their music is weird AF (especially debut era) — but that’s what makes them impressive. “O.O” and “Dice” are like musical obstacle courses. Kyujin and Jiwoo are top-tier dancers — clean, powerful, and expressive. They’re still rookies, but they perform like they’ve been around for years. If K-pop was judged purely by SKILL and not sales/hype, these two would dominate every “Top 5” list. Fight me in the comments if you want, but deep down you know I’m right. submitted by /u/codegreen22 [link] [comments]
