Is it me or do K-pop fans seem kind of sensitive these days?

I don't think I'm the first to say this, but I think their confidence is even more notable than their sheer vocal ability. Add this to the list of NMIXX vocal appreciation posts. Everyone in NMIXX is at LEAST a "good" singer with decent fundamentals. But I think what makes them more impressive to me is that every member will push themselves, adding riffs, variations, adlibs, and attempt other member's lines out of the blue; it's astonishing. Members like Bae and Jiwoo - the "least skilled" singers in the group - will be attempting F5s and G5s on random variety shows. And even if it's maybe a bit sharp, flat or tight, they don't have the typical "deer in headlights" look a lot of idols unfortunately take on when they do vocal parts that are a bit too difficult for them. They're not doing these lines perfectly, but it's the courage to try and to own it that sets them apart. And in actively making these attempts, they end up improving by making active effort to change their approach the next time. And I don't mean this to disparage other groups or singers. The blame is entirely on companies for not giving enough attention to vocal training. But still, it's just so impressive to me. Sullyoon taking on the 2-person blended high note in Dice studio ver by herself in live versions - it's rarely perfect, but she's trying AND improving. Bae does a lot of runs and riffs, and thus her agility is far more developed than you'd expect (not that I'm saying she's Mariah, I'm not delusional, but again keep the comparisons relative). Kyujin in general is constantly impressing me - there is not a note she won't try to hit, nor a line she'll shy away from taking, and she'll do it while literally exhibiting superhuman stamina while dancing. And I don't need to mention Lily and Haewon. Everyone in the group owns their voices, and that's a weird thing to say but it makes sense to me. They're not surprised by the sounds they're making, nor do they sound like they're trying to conform to what's comfortable. They just come off entirely self assured - which is unfortunately less common than you'd want in this industry. And I think that's truly what sets them apart more than their pure vocal skill. I can't name a single (mainstream, idol) group that this has honestly ever been true for. That includes the ones you're thinking of replying to me with; there's probably one member in there who still comes off less confident than the rest to me. And that's - again - not to criticise their skills. I probably love the people they get compared to just as much as I do NMIXX. submitted by /u/hollaQ_ [link] [comments]

Youngseo has now debuted in ALLDAYPROJECT. I think it's inevitable that they and Illit would be at some of the same events and music shows. Would they be allowed to interact with each other or film tiktoks? I don't think there was any blood. It's also a different than like if LSF and Garam were to interact or RIIZE and Seunghan (I doubt SM would even have him at the same events as RIIZE)). submitted by /u/Interpol_Interpol [link] [comments]

Since January, there were reports that BLACKPINK would be making a comeback with an album in May. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Then we started hearing that the updated plan was a June release, but with just a single, not a full album. And when June finally rolled around, YG reported that they started filming the MV on the 6th and only wrapped it up just last week. Now we get an official statement saying they’ve decided to reveal the new song with a performance during their first tour stop in Goyang. They also added that the official release date will be announced later (classic YG). Since the tour kicks off on the 5th (Saturday), and assuming they stick to the usual Friday drop, the most likely release date of the new song would be July 11th. This is a mess from all angles. Sure, fans at Goyang will be thrilled to witness the first performance live. Cool. But then what? The rest of the world are going to be introduced to BLACKPINK’s long-awaited comeback through a low quality fancam? That completely kills the hype that's been building for the past three years. From a business standpoint, there’s no justifiable reason for this to be seen as a smart move. My hypothesis is that they didn’t have enough time to finish editing/producing the MV, so they were forced to debut the song with just a stage performance on tour. Let’s be real. If the MV was ready, why wouldn’t they just drop it on Friday the 4th and follow it up with a live performance on the very next day at the concert? There’s no way anyone can convince me that the first exposure of the most anticipated comeback of BLACKPINK’s entire career should be through someone’s shaky fancam footage with terrible audio on Twitter. First it was an album. Then it became a single. And now, they couldn't even meet the deadline and the song's official release will be dropping after their DEADLINE tour kicks off. This is procrastination at its finest. I think DEADLINE might actually be the greatest tour name in Kpop history. The joke just keeps writing itself lol If anyone has a genuine explanation for why the tour is even called "DEADLINE," I’d really appreciate it. submitted by /u/Organic-Cranberry955 [link] [comments]

I’ll see a funny K-pop related video pop on my Instagram feed, not problematic whatsoever, and fans in the comments get all tense and shit like bro… is it really that serious? It won’t be anything racist or homophobic, it’ll seriously be a meme or a funny moment of band or a band member and a numerous amount of people in the comments will get their panties all in a knot. submitted by /u/chaejulia [link] [comments]
So I know ENHYPEN recently had their comeback and I'm pretty happy with this comeback itself. However, I realised that as an engene, I definitely have a biased opinion so I would like hear from people here: How do you think ENHYPEN is doing compared to other 4th Gen groups? I've seen people saying that ENHYPEN has peaked while some say that ENHYPEN still has opportunity for growth. I feel that the album that brought them much popularity would definitely be dark blood, and the releases after definitely does not hit the same as dark blood did. However, their recent activities really made me think about this a lot. [also I limited this to only 4th Gen since many of the groups are facing similar problems as ENHYPEN: domestic popularity] Some things to consider: 1.) Heeseung being really popular especially in China due to his Heeseung March 2.) ENHYPEN winning their first 2 daesangs just this year alone 3.) Them attending coachella this year 4.) Winning their first every Inkigayo (since they usually don't chart well domestically) 5.) Winning 3 music shows since Future Perfect [I'm not very sure if these are at all significant in showing their growth but these I feel are definitely points to consider! Would appreciate responses from both engenes and non engenes! Please be respectful and kind!🙏] submitted by /u/Ikniszyo1 [link] [comments]
Seriously??? I came across this really weird post/sub because I went on a users profile who was posting weird.. things to a normal kpop sub. This is actually disgusting, openly admitting to (what should be illegal) heinous behavior?? This has to be some form of sxal harrasment. I cannot believe this sub exists. submitted by /u/Objective_Ad9100 [link] [comments]
