1.371. BLACKPINK's DEADLINE is the funniest tour name in Kpop history

Since January, there were reports that BLACKPINK would be making a comeback with an album in May. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Then we started hearing that the updated plan was a June release, but with just a single, not a full album. And when June finally rolled around, YG reported that they started filming the MV on the 6th and only wrapped it up just last week. Now we get an official statement saying they’ve decided to reveal the new song with a performance during their first tour stop in Goyang. They also added that the official release date will be announced later (classic YG). Since the tour kicks off on the 5th (Saturday), and assuming they stick to the usual Friday drop, the most likely release date of the new song would be July 11th. This is a mess from all angles. Sure, fans at Goyang will be thrilled to witness the first performance live. Cool. But then what? The rest of the world are going to be introduced to BLACKPINK’s long-awaited comeback through a low quality fancam? That completely kills the hype that's been building for the past three years. From a business standpoint, there’s no justifiable reason for this to be seen as a smart move. My hypothesis is that they didn’t have enough time to finish editing/producing the MV, so they were forced to debut the song with just a stage performance on tour. Let’s be real. If the MV was ready, why wouldn’t they just drop it on Friday the 4th and follow it up with a live performance on the very next day at the concert? There’s no way anyone can convince me that the first exposure of the most anticipated comeback of BLACKPINK’s entire career should be through someone’s shaky fancam footage with terrible audio on Twitter. First it was an album. Then it became a single. And now, they couldn't even meet the deadline and the song's official release will be dropping after their DEADLINE tour kicks off. This is procrastination at its finest. I think DEADLINE might actually be the greatest tour name in Kpop history. The joke just keeps writing itself lol If anyone has a genuine explanation for why the tour is even called "DEADLINE," I’d really appreciate it. submitted by /u/Organic-Cranberry955 [link] [comments]

1.374. Is it me or do K-pop fans seem kind of sensitive these days?

I’ll see a funny K-pop related video pop on my Instagram feed, not problematic whatsoever, and fans in the comments get all tense and shit like bro… is it really that serious? It won’t be anything racist or homophobic, it’ll seriously be a meme or a funny moment of band or a band member and a numerous amount of people in the comments will get their panties all in a knot. submitted by /u/chaejulia [link] [comments]

1.375. How well is ENHYPEN doing in the 4th Gen Kpop Industry?

  • reddit.com language

So I know ENHYPEN recently had their comeback and I'm pretty happy with this comeback itself. However, I realised that as an engene, I definitely have a biased opinion so I would like hear from people here: How do you think ENHYPEN is doing compared to other 4th Gen groups? I've seen people saying that ENHYPEN has peaked while some say that ENHYPEN still has opportunity for growth. I feel that the album that brought them much popularity would definitely be dark blood, and the releases after definitely does not hit the same as dark blood did. However, their recent activities really made me think about this a lot. [also I limited this to only 4th Gen since many of the groups are facing similar problems as ENHYPEN: domestic popularity] Some things to consider: 1.) Heeseung being really popular especially in China due to his Heeseung March 2.) ENHYPEN winning their first 2 daesangs just this year alone 3.) Them attending coachella this year 4.) Winning their first every Inkigayo (since they usually don't chart well domestically) 5.) Winning 3 music shows since Future Perfect [I'm not very sure if these are at all significant in showing their growth but these I feel are definitely points to consider! Would appreciate responses from both engenes and non engenes! Please be respectful and kind!🙏] submitted by /u/Ikniszyo1 [link] [comments]

1.387. Stray Kids' DC Stadium Show Cut Short Due to Heat + Live Nation’s Incompetence

  • 1 week ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Stray Kids’ recent stadium stop in Washington, D.C. was supposed to be a historic moment. Instead, it turned into a disaster marked by extreme heat, and horrific mismanagement by Live Nation and the venue, Nationals Park. Unsafe Conditions in Dangerous Heat Temperatures were reaching 100°F (38°C) with little to no shade and no water was distributed by staff. The stadium had its roof open and enforced strict “no outside water” rules, confiscating all water bottles and umbrellas from fans, only to then jack up prices for water. Water and Powerade inside the venue were sold for around $7+ per bottle, with some fans spending nearly $100 just trying to stay hydrated throughout the day (stays posted what they paid on #getemchan). Security and staff were slow to hand any water out and the members, especially Bang Chan had to step in several times to point out fainting fans to medics and give out their own water bottles. Let that sink in. People fainted outside and inside the venue and staff refused to leave their posts to get medics. Fans who were lucky enough to get in for soundcheck were left in the sun while others were stranded. And even during the show, there was limited access to a single small water station at the back of the stadium. Luckily fans in the pit were sharing ice, snacks, and water with each other to keep people from passing out. Live Nation and Staff Incompetence Live Nation encouraged camping by setting up “camping lines” for NYC, but then completely randomized queue numbers. People who showed up early got placed in the 400s and beyond. Staff were reported as rude, unhelpful, and condescending, offering no assistance when fans had ticketing issues or emergencies. After the show was cut short for safety reasons, staff forced everyone to leave through one or two exits, funneling them through the hallway with no AC. Why didn’t they open more of the gates? Some fans even had their water confiscated again on the way out. How is that remotely acceptable? This isn’t just about one bad night. It’s a reflection of how major tour companies like Live Nation prioritize profit over basic fan safety. They’re hiking prices on necessities during extreme weather. They’re cutting corners on crowd management and hiring volunteers or untrained workers who don’t know how to respond to medical emergencies. I really hope fans get partial refunds at the very least. On the other hand, I’m really glad that Stray Kids did everything in their power to take care of fans throughout the show: They stopped the concert multiple times to get help for fans in the crowd. When they found out no one was handing out water, he asked the staff do it. It wasn’t even their job, and they still stepped in because the actual organizers failed so completely. They also paused during songs to call out to security, signal for help, and encourage fans to sit down or stay hydrated. After the concert ended early, they still made time to come onto Bubble to check on everyone. Bang Chan even asked fans directly whether they were being restricted from bringing water and said he would see what he could do to help from his end. Later, the whole group went live together just to thank fans for coming, say how much they appreciated the crowd, and to make sure everyone got home safely. It honestly felt like the only people prioritizing fan safety were the performers themselves. That says everything. TL;DR: The DC Stray Kids show was fun while it lasted, but cut short because of negligence. If you were there, I hope you're recovering and taking care of yourself. Y’all deserved SO much better. submitted by /u/not_Hades365 [link] [comments]
