Hey folks! Over in r/kpop we just posted a new special Town Hall that is focused only on the Flairs we use to help organize our posts based on content categories. Link to r/kpop's 'All About Flairs' Town Hall We included announcements for new flairs here on r/kpoppers and also on r/kpophelp. The following is the section relevant for this subreddit. NEW FLAIRS! Connect - This flair will be used for anything where fans are trying to socially connect with each other. Announcing new K-Pop subreddits or Discords, looking for mutual fans on social media, wanting to meet up at a concert, seeking fans in a region to form a dance group, networking for a fan project, announcing a K-Pop night at a club, etc. Research - Academic surveys related to K-Pop or fandom topics. We'll keep an eye on these new flairs to see if they create any confusion or need adjustments. Let us know if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions! submitted by /u/alleybetwixt [link] [comments]
Hi! I need you to drop all your most unpopular k-pop opinions in the comments of this post. submitted by /u/No_Prior_3740 [link] [comments]
All of the instrumental samplers are out for the 5 new original songs that will be released, and I'm insanely hyped. They genuinely sound so good that I'm mad it's not a proper Korean comeback (purely because Korean comebacks get more promotion and hype, can be performed internationally, etc). But, here are my predictions! Unfortunately I don't believe the YouTube channel has uploaded them but they're on x and insta I believe so please check them out if you haven't! Itzy Collector track predictions: Rock & Roll: An emotional but still boppy song about being themselves and "rock 'n' roll", with the obligatory concept of being forever young/the night is still young I. I Know Me: A girl crush song that goes hard with lyrics directed to haters about how they don't care what they have to say because they know themselves best. "None of your business, I do my own business" vibes Out of Season: 'None of My Business ' (the song) sound and the message is either about how the girls are never out of season (never not be trendy)/how people say they are out of season but they'll last forever OR a chill song to an ex about how they're out of season and they've moved on Trigger: Will have a very melodically interesting and unique sound that isn't to everybody's tastes, an underrated gem to some and incredibly mid to others, a grower. Lyrics could be about how someone tried to start a fight/hate on them and it "triggered" them to start to fight back or give it their all, or how they're going to pull the trigger on someone. Wind Ride: Will have a sound like Five but more emotional, but lyrically be similar to Love Is in the way that it sounds carefree and fun but with emotionally heartbreaking and deep undertones. Maybe similar to Skz's Fairytale? Those are just the thoughts I've been collecting on my notes app. Currently my ranking would be Rock & Roll > Wind Ride > I I Know Me > Out of Season > Trigger, but of course it's likely going to change on release. I really like the band KARDI. They are a co-ed band that has a Korean harpist in their line-up. I love the sound of the Korean harp. I was wondering if anyone could recommend other bands that incorporate traditional instruments or tracks that incorporate the Korean Harp. I already have a running list of songs, e.g., Suga's Haegeum, BTS - Idol, Stray Kids - Thunderous, Monsta X - Follow, Dreamcatcher - Piri etc., but more recommendations would be welcome. submitted by /u/DeePepper852 [link] [comments]

It’s always been bizarre to me. K-pop fans often treat it like a competitive sport, even though it’s not. The obsession with album sales, streams, meaningless awards, numbers, claiming the achievements of their favorites like they're your own, even though you get absolutely nothing from it. The issue? Companies totally encouraged this behavior. Fans endlessly streaming, bulk-buying albums, hoarding merch, doing free marketing, it's insanely profitable for the industry. submitted by /u/Striking-Meal-5257 [link] [comments]

I don't think HYBE opening auditions in India is necessarily good for Korea. HYBE already has online and offline auditions, and very few Indian trainees even tried before. How can HYBE think this is a good idea? Being honest, what HYBE is doing now feels wrong. It could affect HYBE as a company, K-pop girls, and Korea's K-pop scene in the long run. I just wanted to share my perspective as a K-pop fan who cares about the industry and its future. submitted by /u/king23e66 [link] [comments]
