1.786. Can we pressure JYP to do something about LiveNation after Stray Kids' DC concert?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I'm a Baltimore resident who couldn't go bc of my work schedule. But like, our trash collection has been on modified schedule for the past few weeks minimum bc the heat is an active danger to city workers' health. Hell, all of DMV has been dealing with 100⁰F weather for the past few weeks. So hosting a concert in this situation was already negligence towards the health of everyone in the venue. The water situation is gross negligence. So, here's the deal: JYP site has a contact form on their site. Use the "reporting issues on business ethics" option and write about your experience in DC. If you have footage and/or medical treatment records, offer to supply them. Mention that the concert has made local news that are Google indexed. Describe the actions of these partners as "damaging to the brand and grounds for personal injury lawsuits in US" to trip JYP lawyers' spidey senses. Live Nation is a monopoly, so they can prob eat the personal injury lawsuits from concert attendees. But we can try to pressure the label into pursuing legal action against them and stadium management. And maybe they can make Live Nation compensate DC ticket holders. submitted by /u/Unheroic_ [link] [comments]

1.787. XLOV's latest comeback - the songs are good, the concept truly genderless and the choreography insanely innovative and dynamic. Can we please talk about them?!

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Guys, I need to gush with people over XLOV. They are truly blowing my mind with this concept. First - the songs. 1&only is genuinely such an amazing song - it's sensual, groovy, and has the magic that takes me back to second / third gen sound. Their vocals are also distinct and sound amazing. My only gripe is the lyrics (papi chulo?) but they are camp in the way I love kpop lyrics to be camp, so I'll let it slide. The genderless concept is groundbreaking. It honestly is. They have told fans at fansigning they truly don't care what gender you refer to them as - they embody so much feminine AND masculine energy, seem incredibly confident in themselves and just ready to break down a huge wall that has been in this industry. I feel like they are the queer rep I have always longed for - true, genuine queer rep. Their concept may be genderless, but their concept isn't queer - THEY are queer, and so it feels so much more authentic. EDIT - Also, they have expressed that they won't ask people to do challenges with them, because they understand how their choreography can be viewed and don't want other idols to feel uncomfortable. This is a whole convo in itself. Also, they are heavily involved in their own artistry! From concept to styling to even music production. They are doing this because they feel empowered by it. But what has me most floored right now is the choreography. I'm sure most have seen 1&only - it's gone viral everywhere, and is what drew my attention in. I don't know who they hired for this, but they absolutely nailed it - every member shines and it suits the song perfectly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5udJg2vAi4&t=1s But what I need to talk about because I cant find anyone on reddit talking about it, is the choreo for Bizness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzpMVYZZqdU&list=RDAzpMVYZZqdU&start_radio=1 Here's a live performance of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prR9miCSDlg&list=RDprR9miCSDlg&start_radio=1 This is the definition of when amazing choreo can SELL a song. The transition from "stay out of my business" to "dance" - ICONIC. Gosh I am just gushing over them. Have you checked them out yet? Thoughts? submitted by /u/hanniehae1005 [link] [comments]

1.789. Jessi dropped a tease for a new song Newsflash

Jessi is finally set to drop a new song. What is everyone's thoughts on it? Teaser link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H1-B7HX_sE For me I think based from what is in the video, that it will be a diss track with several nods to her portrayal in kmedia recently . The MV teaser is giving and the tone seems to be similar to What Type of X or Nunu Nana, and so far i quite like it. However, the question is how will the kmedia and k gp react? Do you think she will face a backlash again? submitted by /u/MasterHospital [link] [comments]

I remember back in the day when I first started watching "Produce 48" and Wonyoung just appeared, she was just a kid, super talented and she surprised everyone... although she was so talented, I would never expect her to be that succesful! It's insane to now see her being incredibly famous, succesful, and basically the it girl of the new generation of K-Pop, it makes me proud. It feels so good to see someone works hard and be in a constant training until you see them become supestars, following their journey is so satisfying. What do you think? 1.798. Hot take: I love how hard K-Pop companies are.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Ignoring the diets, and horrible stuff idols go through when they debut... when trainees are getting choosen, I really love how though companies are. I feel like nowadays, people drop a horrible song and they suddenly get famous and are considered "artists". I really appreciate how the K-Pop industry, in order to become a known artist, you need to prove professionals how much talent you have, so only actual artists debut. I think that's how the music industry should work! submitted by /u/witchvamplady [link] [comments]

1.801. fromis_9's Like You Better is their first song to debut in the Melon Top 100.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Their newest comeback, and first one as OT5, called "Like You Better" has just dropped. Because fromis just left a pretty big agency and lost three members, I didn't really expect them to do as well on the charts initially. But to my surprise, they debuted on the MelOn chart at #67, and having the third highest listeners out of every 2025 girl group songs next to IVE. It's really a testament to how much fromis grew during and after Supersonic, and after leaving their past agency. I'm really proud of them FR, I hope they peak in the top five of every chart this time. The music shows are busy this time around so I'm not expecting too much wins. If you haven't tuned in yet, please listen to Like You Better!! it's so good. submitted by /u/yebinkek [link] [comments]

1.802. How to deal with a fandom that's growing rapidly?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I started liking BTS in 2015, and the fandom wasn't even half as big as it is now. You can tell the difference, for example, between pre 2020 ARMY and post 2020 ARMY. Now, aespa's fandom (MY) is also getting bigger each day, and you can easily tell by the way fandom dynamics have changed drastically in a short period of time. Even last year the fandom was super different compared to now. And I'm not talking about fanwars or stuff like that, but more of "internal" fandom dynamics. For example, the way the fandom behaves or reacts to stuff the group does. And the so called "achievement" stans that inevitably crash with the core fanbase and internal fighting gets more annoying. Also, the increase in solo/akgae subfandoms. What cases of drastic fandom changes have you guys witnessed? How do you navigate interacting in fandom spaces when they change rapidly like this? Have you guys had to take a step back? Let's discuss fandoms affairs lol. submitted by /u/randomgirl852007 [link] [comments]

1.803. K-pop solo artists, Korean rappers ect. on Reddit.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I want to start with the fact that I'm new to Reddit approx. 2 months old Reddit baby. I joined few Reddit communities but from what I see people generally speak about either new or popular groups and members. I listen to many Korean artists including other genres and often solo artists but I don't really see people talking about them. Probably because they are not that popular but still it would be nice to have a conversation about not mainstream but good artists. I don't use twitter or Instagram so I only focus on music and Reddit now. Do you think it's appropriate or worth it to post about solo artists or rappers here? Or maybe there are other Reddit communities that focus more about those type of music. Do you have any advice or suggestions? submitted by /u/TruthApprehensive304 [link] [comments]

1.804. SM’s Missed Concept Opportunity for ❤️✌️❤️ Hearts2Hearts?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Currently enjoying H2H’s comeback track “Style”, but felt there was something amiss. Couldn’t really put my finger on it until I rewatched “The Chase”, their debut song when it all came back to me… During their debut, one part of their performance that really made a surprise impression on me was the dance break - it was sang and performed by 2 members (Jiwoo & Juun), my initial impression seeing that was of “Wow, do they have 2 Main Dancers?” I thought it was unique and started to wonder maybe this group would have 2 of every positions, like 2 Main Vocals, 2 Main Rappers, maybe even 2 Centers (or even a group that had no Centers since the Center position promotes individualism). “This group would have a lot of "ships" sailing”, I thought. It was kind of a unique concept and it just made a lot of sense based on their group name alone. I had totally forgotten about that first impression after their individual positions were later announced during their debut showcase. But that's when it occurred to me - the No. 2 aka duo’s aka companionship. This group felt like it was marketed to promote 2-gethernes (togetherness), to promote pairings, having someone else always beside you, a companionship. A group with no individualism. That impression was what was missing in their comeback. The comeback felt more geared toward promoting individually more than 2 or the whole. Both the MV and stage performances had so many spots where instead of members sharing the stage together, certain members were taking turns to be background decorations to highlight someone else. Then I realized SM really missed the boat to capitalize on the name they gave this group: Hearts2Hearts. They could’ve marketed H2H as a pair but just promoted them more as certain individuals. Now the group are getting labeled with monikers of being an “and Friends” group aka “(insert member name) and Friends”, while also still having multiple controversies during their live stage performances of covering up members to promote another, the backlash got loud enough that SM had to modify the choreography during the group's first week of promotions. Not any kind of thing you want associated with a group named "Hearts2Hearts". My hope is that SM goes back to remember the roots of what makes them unique and focus on the group’s real concept, and that's a group that promotes 2-getherness and companionship. Support Carmen, Jiwoo, Yuha, Juun, Ana, Ian, Yeon. “Hearts 2 Hearts@, it’s literally in the name. submitted by /u/JcaHot [link] [comments]
