This is something I've been thinking about and I often see posts or comments criticising a group's "lack of sound/concept" when a song they release is not well liked or strays away from the usual sound of the group. But this begs the question of do most groups even have that well defined of a sound. Especially 5th gen groups who have not even completed 2 whole years and might still be evolving in their musicality. Illit and NCT Wish seem to be two 5th gen groups who've naturally settled into a concept perhaps. NCT 127 and SKZ have always had a defining sound too. But there are so many other groups that have songs that are just generic pop stuff and while the songs themselves are good, it's not like they have a concept or unique sound attached to the group. So I wanted to know your thoughts on it.
