So I saw a post on Twitter complimenting UNIS’ Japanese debut, MoshiMoshi, for actually sounding like Jpop and not Kpop in Japanese and it got me thinking about how good those songs are and also asking is it actually rare? So here is a list of Kpop Japanese releases that sound like actual Jpop, to me (Anime OSTs not included), because I really love these kinds of Japanese releases! UNIS - MoshiMoshi TXT - Kitto Zutto ILLIT - Toki Yo Tomare Dreamcatcher - I Miss You Stayc - Poppy IZ*ONE - Vampire, Suki To Iwasetai Kara - Go Go Summer Secret Number - Like It Like It Gfriend - Memoria Kep1er - Wing Wing Rocket Punch - Bubble Up! Secret - Twinkle Twinkle Oh My Girl - Etoile MISAMO (is this cheating?) - Bouquet Yena - Deja Vu, DNA TripleS - ### Are there any I missed? I’d love to tune in! I love when Kpop Japanese releases embrace the Jpop of it all! submitted by /u/hiekachu [link] [comments]
engenes hate twt keeps appearing on my tl and whatever they have to say baffles me. for example yesterday txt were speaking up about an ex-trainee who used to hate beomgyu and that trainee went to the counselor to rant about beomgyu, suddenly engenes coming out in defense for "heeseung" and then moas told them txt didn't name-drop anyone including heeseung but they keep going the txt bully narrative because apparently txt are taking the debut spot of whoever is this trainee (even though its not heeseung) and bringing up the story of that trainee hatred towards beomgyu is bully behavior. and they even used txt story of getting physically abused back in trainee days as their stance in fanwars, that's so crazy because abuse is a serious thing. whenever their faves getting lashed like for making sunoo uncomfortable because of his weight they made a whole account and 7 mins long video lurking in txt contents and trying to shift the hate to txt. and one time i call these engenes out for being racist they questioned if i don't understand what racism is, they literally made and massively still using the gif comparing yeonjun to their fav's dog in a degrading way and not to forget they also made hashtag hating on black engenes on weverse. a few months ago moas found that sunghoon's figurine resembles ggum figurine, at first moas didnt know that it was artist made until engenes mocking yeonjun because he didn't design it himself while sunghoon designed it himself and from that on moas found out that he was holding ggum figurine in the making video. moas took it seriously because the original designer and his fellow showed hints of their dissatisfaction about this, but then engenes come up to his comment section calling him unprofessional and other names that he had to close the comment section. they also made hashtag mocking txt for "not selling out" their world tour, it's completely out of topic because it doesn't erase the obvious proofs that the plagiarism is there. and they keep coming to different platforms painting moas as the villain and even made tiktok videos talking about how bad txt world tour is. after a few weeks they're trying to shift the hate to txt again by claiming txt plagiarized their fav because they both have candles in their photo concept, they dont even have similar clothes or vibes and engenes even edit it out to try making it looks similar, this is so weird to me because even with all that editing it doesn't look similar at all. those are just a bit from their fandom that baffles me because these are so weird to me how this is so normalized in kpop submitted by /u/Additional-Tomato304 [link] [comments]

i just came accidentally the post a moa made in here a while ago and noticed how they are here trying to twist everything that is going on in here but there are literally screenshots of moas on x assuming who the trainee is and somehow they thought it was a great idea to bring up hs unprovoked in the situation but now that it kind of backfired they are upset and they are trying to act like engenes are being mean. my advice is you guys should stop mentioning enhypen so their fans don’t find you and get upset. i am not trying to be mean or hateful. it’s just weird to assume things and then get upset that people are finding your opinions bad. submitted by /u/AcceptableBreak6080 [link] [comments]

njs had so much potential, they debuted and quickly became korean and international hits, it's still ongoing and people have countless opinions on the matter, so no need to argue over it (I love ditto w a big heart) It's unfortunateand sad tbh :< Also one of the other things I feel really never should have happened is what happened to sulli :) What are Some of the other kpop misfortunes that happened, which had people discussing for months and years? submitted by /u/Efficient-Pay7623 [link] [comments]
I've been seeing this all over the internet recently that global fans are being blamed for him being eliminated from b2p. People have their preferences or one picks on the show and maybe he wasn't one of them. He ranked quite high for Korean votes but not for global votes. Maybe it was global fans fault but I honestly don't know. In my case I vote for Kim Jun Min or Zhang Jia Hao because they stood out to me and I thought they were really good. I didn't for Haneum cause I didn't like him or something. People have preferences for the styles, food, music, or hobbies they like. Same with voting for trainees in a survival show. Cause global fans have said to vote for talent that is exactly what I have done personally I think. PEOPLE HAVE PREFERENCES. submitted by /u/JuuginJefe [link] [comments]

I’ve been a K-pop fan since 2014, and honestly, out of everyone in the top 16, Kang Woojin feels like the definition of a perfect idol. His face matches beauty standards so naturally, and what I love most is how versatile he looks, he can pull off both dark and bright concepts effortlessly. He might be a bit shy, which is understandable since he has 0 idol training, he’s still good with fan service (his cafe event was very cute). And seems fluent in English. Woojin is easily one of the most stable contestants. His vocals stay strong even while dancing, and his tone is so pleasant. Every live performance I’ve seen from him has been flawless. And about the whole “he can’t dance” agenda? I just don’t get it. He’s never looked out of place, even when performing with some of the best dancers in the show. Considering his height, the way he still matches their energy and synchronization is so impressive. The only thing holding him back is visibility. He gets almost no screen time, and Mnet rarely highlights his parts. It’s not that people don’t like him, it’s that they forget about him because he isn’t being shown. If Woojin had debuted back in early 3rd gen, I truly believe he would’ve been one of the most famous idols out there. He has everything: visuals, vocals, dance, and stage presence. submitted by /u/PolicyWhole5626 [link] [comments]

Whenever TXT talks about their trainee days, the stories they share are either fun or traumatizing. There have been other posts of them talking about their trainee days so I won’t start recounting them again, but Soobin and Taehyun went on live today and revealed some new stories they hadn’t shared before. TXT have never really been the ones to shy away from talking about their trainee experiences and saying things as they were, and this was no exception. Here is a summary of what they said in the live. Taehyun said he has seen MOAs ask questions like "how was TXT chosen?", "how did BigHit assemble all of them?", and the answer is that all of TXT were selected for the debut group solely based on their looks. He said Yeonjun was the only skilled person who was really good in everything and the rest of the debut team members were just chosen mainly because they were good looking. It was afterwards that BigHit really put them through the wringer to develop their skills. Before Beomgyu joined BigHit, TXT’s debut lineup was originally expected to have six or seven members. Yeonjun, Taehyun, and two other trainees were basically confirmed, so when their names were called as part of the debut team, everyone thought, “Of course.” But then Soobin’s name was announced, and everyone was confused. The other trainees wondered, “Why him?” and even Soobin himself was thinking, "Why me?" Hueningkai’s name was called and everyone was even more shocked. (Note: Hueningkai was added to the debut line-up 3 months after joining BigHit). Soobin said he and Hueningkai were really unskilled at that time and it didn’t seem like the company was paying any special attention to them, so they were not expecting to be announced as part of the debut line-up. When Beomgyu was added to the debut lineup not long after joining the company, he was treated coldly and negatively by most of the trainees. At that time, some trainees had left, and everyone was still struggling to secure a spot in the debut lineup. Then Beomgyu came in and was added to the debut lineup not long after. This caused many trainees to resent and hate Beomgyu to the point that one/some of them had to go for counseling because of it. Soobin said he saw himself in Beomgyu at that time because he also faced a lot of unfair prejudice when he joined the company, so he especially looked out for Beomgyu during that period. However, he said that Beomgyu did change that negative perception later on because he was very kind, got along with everyone, and adapted quickly. Beomgyu later said that he was clueless about those things back then because he was just focused on trying to survive. Soobin said that out of all the older and younger members, only Wooyoung and Yeosang (currently ATEEZ) weren’t strict with him, which he really appreciated. He didn’t like it when younger members were too formal, so he’d ask them to speak more casually. Sometimes the younger members went too far, but Soobin would just laugh it off. However, Wooyoung would always step in, gather the younger trainees and tell them "You shouldn’t treat Soobin like that." At the time, Soobin said he didn’t think much of it, but looking back, he’s really thankful for what Wooyoung did. Taehyun said he rarely cried, only when the hyung trainees were leaving. When Yeosang and Wooyoung left, he said he cried and was really sad. And then, like psychos, the rookie development team members told him, “Taehyun, try singing with the emotions you’re feeling right now.” 😭 Around the time TXT was preparing for their debut, the members were practicing late at night, often from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. One night, they kept hearing strange noises outside the practice room. Even as trainees, they already had some fans, so they assumed someone had snuck in to peek through the door. Since they weren’t supposed to be revealed yet, they couldn’t risk going out themselves, so their dance teacher stepped out to check. The teacher came back looking visibly shaken, saying it was too scary to explain. When the members went to see for themselves, they found a series of albums from another artist placed neatly on each step of the staircase, each one marked with an X. According to them, It looked like some kind of curse ritual and the scene gave everyone chills. They were so frightened they didn’t even clean it up and just went back inside, completely shaken. TranslatingTXT, our fandom translation account, has not translated the live fully yet, so these are just some tidbits I got from some other translation accounts. I’m sure there will be more stories and details to come out when the live is translated. submitted by /u/ilovemeeeeee [link] [comments]
Hii! I've been keenly aware of k-pop having been in adjacent fandoms since I was on the internet basically and I've always wanted to find more k-pop songs to listen to! I quite like a variety of content, but I do tend to move more toward more 'intense' music in favor of soft and slow ballad-type stuff (though I won't knock it immediately!) The few songs I do know and LOVE are genuinely ANCIENT (Think early BIGBANG - Fantastic Baby and BANGBANGBANG, Block B - Nillili Mambo) but I adore that vibe, so anything similar is probably an instant fav too! Thanks in advance for any recommendations you guys can make! :3 submitted by /u/RoseInAJar [link] [comments]
Today KickFlip released their 3rd EP "My First Love Song". The albums first day sales (still counting) are over 131k and all songs are currently on the Bugs top 100 chart the highest one being the title My First Love Song at #3 and lowest at #35. Even the comeback show performance of the title track has over 105k views as of now. Despite all of that the MV has only 77k views. It's been almost 8 hours since release. Is it normal for the views to be THAT frozen? Cuz I'm sure it already has so much more than this.. submitted by /u/this_is_weflip [link] [comments]

For the last five years Yuqi has given us gifts on her birthday in the form of covers that showcase her voice. Today (well, in Korea) is her birthday and she gave us a solo album instead which hopefully (just 50k or something missing) will make her a soloist million seller with just her second album. She has shown some tremendous growth in her years in the K-pop industry. A social butterfly at heart (collecting all kind of idol friends, young and "old"), a positive person through and through, a variety star that takes over any program and of course a really talented artist. Her voice is unique in K-pop and her versatility both as producer and singer are her biggest assets. According to her group members she just recently became a functioning adult, so i look forward to seeing what she can achieve, now that she has left the moody teenage years... really late apparently. Happy birthday Song Superstar / Yang Gwibi. You are very appreciated. Please continue yapping. submitted by /u/Eismann [link] [comments]
