Iāve recently stopped being as into Stray Kids. But I feel like if ā13ā by Han was on Spotify, I would 100% still be insanely invested in them. I just donāt feel like I vibe with their usual music as much anymore, but Hanās solo songs are still my Roman Empire. Miserable (You & Me), 13, 12345⦠I adore those songs so so much. submitted by /u/illandconcerned [link] [comments]
Before I start this is NOT targeted at any specific group or artist but a general trend Iāve noticed in the past 3-4 years. Iāve recently felt like k pop group sales have gotten on average so high theyāre no longer impressive and, in my opinion, no longer are accurate representations of their popularity. And this goes for both groups I stan and those I donāt, as well as groups dominating the industry and those that are mid size. I feel like especially in the past year or so somehow so many records, especially debut records, have been broken by such large margins yet these groups fail to meet the popularity scale the previous record holders have held. Either they donāt sell as well in their subsequent comebacks or their songs donāt chart/ get streamed / are iconic or recognizable (both internationally AND locally) to the proportions Iād expect them to be because of these sales. And the main reason I made this post is because it seems that now the ācriteriaā for a mid size group in terms of sales is close to being 100k and OVER, sometimes this being expected as first week or first day sales and I donāt know I just canāt wrap my head around how SO many groups MEET that yet they struggle to chart locally / internationally and other numbers would point to them being truthfully lower when it comes to actual fandom size. And furthermore if a group deemed popular sells 300k or less first day theyāre now considered āflopsā or losing popularity. I want to make it clear this is NOT to downplay accomplishments, 100k is an incredible number but I just find it so unbelievable and a standard that will inevitably get so much higher. To be considered āleadersā itās expected to sell 1 million first day or preorder, you could sell 400k and still be considered ānuguā. I havenāt been a k pop stan for long, especially to experience 1st-3rd gen in its full but I looked up some of the TOP and I mean like household name groupsā sales, and they are comparable / on par to groups considered to be ānuguā (exaggerated) and mid size in modern standards. So again HOW and WHY do fans put so much effort in sales yet struggle to at least inflate some other numbers? I 100% understand that k pop becoming so globally accesible, overconsumption and collection has a play in, in fact itās probably the sole reason for it, but it still just seems so ridiculous to me and I personally think furthers my point that sales no longer mean shit. How am I supposed to be impressed at 1 million sales when there were 50 versions and 1 photo card per version? like no duh. Idk if I were an idol and i saw my album sold 300k first week yet weāre struggling to have streaming, YouTube, award and fan numbers Iād be pretty bummed out. I guess to close it out, whenever I see album sales I kinda raise my eyebrow and go āhuhā and scroll. I donāt want to be suspicious especially when sometimes itās my own favorite artists but I feel like these numbers are still something so many k pop fans put so much weight to, especially in fan wars, when Iām over here even questioning the numbers of some of my favorite groups. Anyways what do you guys think? submitted by /u/nuluvbo [link] [comments]
This is going to be a very short post, lol. I understand wanting to brag about our fave idols/groups achievements because itās not easy to achieve anything. But, these days itās like the stans only want to their faves to achieve something, or bring up these accomplishments so they can use them for stan wars, sometimes even goign as far as making shit up. I know Iād be pissed if were an idol and came online to see my achievements being used as a weapon to shit on my friends, because my fans just canāt be normal and celebrate me for what Iāve done or how much work I put in. Anyways, I just wanted to vent yāall. Feel free to vent with me lol. submitted by /u/Reel-Trouble34 [link] [comments]
Iāve been seeing clips of JYP talking about different topics for years like religion, science, etc. And I wondered if anyone has looked into what heās actually saying and what it is? Does it have any connection to the company? how far back has he been doing this? Who is his target audience for these things? It sounds like heās explaining some religious cult. Iāve only seen memes of it but havenāt seen any real explanations of anyone who actually knows what it is. submitted by /u/Repulsive_Practice14 [link] [comments]

I know KATSEYE isn't technically kpop but they still have pc's so I wanna include them! submitted by /u/Budget_Blackberry774 [link] [comments]
As a former blink, is it not kinda crazy that the BP leaks were swept under the rug?? Like as soon those teasers dropped it basically didn't matter anymore. It's very disappointing to me that it wasn't even acknowledged (correct me if i'm wrong this is js my knowledge) submitted by /u/Fair-Internal8706 [link] [comments]
Iām bored and wanna share songs I like hehe submitted by /u/illandconcerned [link] [comments]
What do kpop stans mean when they talk about a concept? I originially thought a concept meant like what the main, consistent message of your songs are meant to convey? If your concept was 'self-love', you're twisting lots of performative styles into that concept of loving yourself no matter what. Like writing the same word in different fonts. But now i'm pretty sure it is about the visuals? Like if your concept is horror, you're going to make music with a creepy set in your MV for the next 7 years. submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
What was your favourite release this year and why? I personally loved Girls Will Be Girls, Like You Better and Kiss & Tell. I feel like summer 2025 is lacking so I like these songs more What about you guys? submitted by /u/Infamous_Egg_5625 [link] [comments]
Are you watching WSWF? One of the judges, Mike Song, is a member of the Kinjaz too; they're in the same crew. Like, I think she can also pass as a judge if she wants to. But you know what's even crazier? She's not only Kinjaz in K-pop; it's Jackson Wang. submitted by /u/Busy_Scene_5351 [link] [comments]
My sister in law is Korean, and her best friend got accepted into an acting agency a few days ago. She said it's very clear that a lot of people consider acting as superior as a career in comparison to being an idol. I've heard this a lot, and I know a big reason might be because a lot of idols seem to get good acting roles by connections, while actors have to go through building a steady profile. But i'd never actually seen or even heard anything that shows Koreans think acting > being an idol before just now. Is this true then, or just a narrative? submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
J.J Fad is one of the female group pioneer rappers with their track "Supersonic" and it sounds like that new BM's song. I thought the same way too but i think it was a coincidence so i shrug that off. It also sounds like Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby got Back" mixed with Nicki's Anaconda. submitted by /u/BadYokai [link] [comments]
Yes, Melody is small in number but loves BTOB and each member very much. Everyone knows Changsub for being funny, just as they only know Eunkwang for being funny or Minhyuk for having a sculpted body or for being similar to Soobin. BtoB is super talented, just watch and see their live performances. This time, Changsub's song is very entertaining. I hope you watch it; it's great for lifting your spirits and having fun. submitted by /u/Separate-Comedian-25 [link] [comments]
As the title says. What are some idols that make you go "wow" with their visuals every time you see them? Mine is Rui from Xlov. He's everything. This is more of an lighthearted appreciation/discussion post. submitted by /u/Local_lowcal [link] [comments]
I wanted to create a post where we could share k-pop related habits or routines when exercising. I'm the type of person that needs some visual distraction (listening to the music is not enough!) so I have a few go-to choices apart from watching mvs (which I found can get repetitive over time) * Artist Stage Compilation (usually pick an artist and find a compilation of their live stages/comebacks) * Studio Choom/1theKillPo/& similar content * Playlist of live stages from different artists (I usually watch the ones from a playlist I created) * If I'm feeling adventurous, I'll watch on of those 'top __ songs of 20xx' or a stage programming that aired in the past What are some of yours? submitted by /u/Ahoy_ahoy_atiny [link] [comments]

On every single aespa video, or official teaser/MV they have commented EVERYWHERE. Either they are the top comment, or you just need to scroll down a bit in the comment section to find them. The person comments in both english/korean, im pretty sure every MY has noticed this, so can anyone tell me if there is anything behind it? š On their channel, they upload almost every aespa live or sneak peaks and members instagram pictures. They also do the same for Hearts2Hearts, but they dont upload videos for them.
