What do kpop stans mean when they talk about a concept? I originially thought a concept meant like what the main, consistent message of your songs are meant to convey? If your concept was 'self-love', you're twisting lots of performative styles into that concept of loving yourself no matter what. Like writing the same word in different fonts. But now i'm pretty sure it is about the visuals? Like if your concept is horror, you're going to make music with a creepy set in your MV for the next 7 years. submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
What was your favourite release this year and why? I personally loved Girls Will Be Girls, Like You Better and Kiss & Tell. I feel like summer 2025 is lacking so I like these songs more What about you guys? submitted by /u/Infamous_Egg_5625 [link] [comments]
Are you watching WSWF? One of the judges, Mike Song, is a member of the Kinjaz too; they're in the same crew. Like, I think she can also pass as a judge if she wants to. But you know what's even crazier? She's not only Kinjaz in K-pop; it's Jackson Wang. submitted by /u/Busy_Scene_5351 [link] [comments]
My sister in law is Korean, and her best friend got accepted into an acting agency a few days ago. She said it's very clear that a lot of people consider acting as superior as a career in comparison to being an idol. I've heard this a lot, and I know a big reason might be because a lot of idols seem to get good acting roles by connections, while actors have to go through building a steady profile. But i'd never actually seen or even heard anything that shows Koreans think acting > being an idol before just now. Is this true then, or just a narrative? submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
J.J Fad is one of the female group pioneer rappers with their track "Supersonic" and it sounds like that new BM's song. I thought the same way too but i think it was a coincidence so i shrug that off. It also sounds like Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby got Back" mixed with Nicki's Anaconda. submitted by /u/BadYokai [link] [comments]
Yes, Melody is small in number but loves BTOB and each member very much. Everyone knows Changsub for being funny, just as they only know Eunkwang for being funny or Minhyuk for having a sculpted body or for being similar to Soobin. BtoB is super talented, just watch and see their live performances. This time, Changsub's song is very entertaining. I hope you watch it; it's great for lifting your spirits and having fun. submitted by /u/Separate-Comedian-25 [link] [comments]
As the title says. What are some idols that make you go "wow" with their visuals every time you see them? Mine is Rui from Xlov. He's everything. This is more of an lighthearted appreciation/discussion post. submitted by /u/Local_lowcal [link] [comments]
I wanted to create a post where we could share k-pop related habits or routines when exercising. I'm the type of person that needs some visual distraction (listening to the music is not enough!) so I have a few go-to choices apart from watching mvs (which I found can get repetitive over time) * Artist Stage Compilation (usually pick an artist and find a compilation of their live stages/comebacks) * Studio Choom/1theKillPo/& similar content * Playlist of live stages from different artists (I usually watch the ones from a playlist I created) * If I'm feeling adventurous, I'll watch on of those 'top __ songs of 20xx' or a stage programming that aired in the past What are some of yours? submitted by /u/Ahoy_ahoy_atiny [link] [comments]

On every single aespa video, or official teaser/MV they have commented EVERYWHERE. Either they are the top comment, or you just need to scroll down a bit in the comment section to find them. The person comments in both english/korean, im pretty sure every MY has noticed this, so can anyone tell me if there is anything behind it? 😭 On their channel, they upload almost every aespa live or sneak peaks and members instagram pictures. They also do the same for Hearts2Hearts, but they dont upload videos for them. I think i missed a whole saga so if someone can tell me, that would be great! also an account called pruitv4 keeps replying to their EVERY single comment, with the same message i sound so stupid to someone who probably knows this, im sorry 💔💔 also im not trying to act like i discovered something new ^ i made this awhile back, i asked already in r/aespa, i want to hear other community thoughts on this! also would like to add they are commenting on aespa music bank performances too NO HATE TO THE PERSON, IM JUST A CURIOUS MY submitted by /u/mooniewe [link] [comments]
Honestly I don't know whether to laugh about it or take it seriously cause like dude can't even paint his nails without getting shipped with half of the industry. Idk how did he get some worst type of fans like solos , shippers , armys and token stanners too. His solo love to pretend that he's being forced by company and members all while they keep forcing him to change his career. Incase anyone doesn't know- his solos send a truck to hybe writing him to GO SOLO! And delusional f*ckers thing BTS is famous because of him. For shippers he's a part of their disgusting fantasy and nothing more , according to them his every action is related to their disgusting ship. And ofcourse the main fandom isn't any better , there's no doubt that he's the most biased member but smh they can't accept that he's also an individual , he's more than just his "hyung's baby", everytime he does something good - "his hyungs raised him well" like there has to be a limit. Since he's the most popular member a lot of people love to token stan him just to hate on other members and ofcourse his delusional solos will be there to hype it up. I just hope he's not too deep into fandom spaces for his own sanity. submitted by /u/Adventurous-Dog5560 [link] [comments]

OMG! I loved the song and the MV, I loved it so much! submitted by /u/Separate-Comedian-25 [link] [comments]
Like, no wonder she wouldn't go to the bathhouse with her group when they had a break. Even went as far as trying to control the songwriting process for Takedown because she made the song all about her while Mira and Zoey were trying to create a banger for the group. Gurl out here trying to be the next Suzy so of course Mira and Zoey had to clock her at the awards so everyone could truly see who she is. Because of her, Huntrix lost the Idol Awards to a nugu group. Saja Boys shouldn't have even swept those awards like they did since they were just a one-hit wonder. But thanks Rumi; guess you can start your solo career now that your girl crush phase with Huntrix is over. If you're a Rumi stan, don't @ me here. Yall can take that to Twitter and Weverse for all I care lol. submitted by /u/RaveGuncle [link] [comments]
My friend said kpop girls just shake their hips on stage, can't sing, the rapping is bad, and they can't dance plus their talented. It made me really sad to hear them devalue something I love deeply and call it trash... They do this to other things I like too. Please give me some performances to prove them wrong! submitted by /u/Chrissy-Munson [link] [comments]
Hey guys. I was a huge fan of kpop during 2015-2022 and kind of fell out of it later on but recently i started to listen to the groups i was a fan of again. However, I need help finding this one music video I’ve been thinking about buy cant recall the group nor the name of the song. It was a girl group, it was highly likely gen 2. The clip consisted of dark colors and it was a “sexy concept”. The most distinguished thing I remember from that mv was that there was a part where they dances while holding onto the bars/poles around them. I know this is not saying much but I’ve beeb practically loosing my mind trying to remember. I would really appreciate it if you can respond💜💜. submitted by /u/Cold-Association619 [link] [comments]
Which idols for you have a face that you only needed to see once to remember, and whom you never once got mixed up with anyone else, and never could? A face you’d be able to recognize and name instantly, which took no time at all for you to learn? Also, pretty much no one else in the industry looks like them? For me, some of them were: BTS Jimin; EXO Kai; BP Lisa; SVT Vernon; VIXX Leo; SF9 Yoo Taeyang; Mamamoo Hwasa, Moonbyul; Twice Jihyo; Ateez Hongjoong. submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]
Been watching Illit's new music video for Jellyous nonstop since it dropped and I'm just in awe of how well their creative team was able to incorporate so many video game elements into such a short music video. From references to the DS to the Wii and games like mario cart, just dance and gta, it's so nice to see their team take their 8 bit/chiptune sound and explore that visually in a music video too. I think their team in general has been doing such a good job of managing their work so far and creating a very solid identity for them thats clearly resonating with a lot of girls/women especially in their late teens and 20s and I think it's so refreshing to see a group like this. Even Do the Dance which I first had a lot of doubts about has really grown on me and pushing the whole cat and magical girl concept is so smart cause it really adds to their whole brand which feels very sailor moon adjacent. In general Im really excited to see what their future comebacks looks like and it's been a while since Ive been this excited about music videos at least lol submitted by /u/PrimaryTomato3310 [link] [comments]
Hardly a babymonster fan but I saw a post earlier on reddit about her being an elementary school drop out. I randomly came across her weverse post on twt about the situation and decided to post it here since I didn't see an update on that yet. "Ah! And....I noticed some people were surprised when I said "kindergarten graduate" on the show. Since I started chasing my dream of becoming an artist from elementary school, I keep going back and forth between school and practice. So I feel like kindergarten was the last time I actually ended up going to school properly. I just wanted to say that in a funny way, but because I said it so briefly I think I didn't explain it well. It reminded me again I have a lot to learn and grow. Asa needs to work even harder!" I think she was in a situation pretty much many idols who started training early. Many of them could not completely focus on school (middle and high school specifically) because of how busy their schedules were. The last time they could attend school properly, like Asa said, was probably back when they were very young and still attending kindergarten. There's still criticism to be had towards companies and parents who take such huge risks with children without any guarantee of a career, however Asa's words here were definitely misunderstood. submitted by /u/peach_tweech [link] [comments]
