Kpop should be judged by its whole package - including camera works and back dancers - or purely by its live performance like many western singers focus on? submitted by /u/Terrible-Ad1611 [link] [comments]

But who better to ask than the experts? Recently I saw a Tiktok that I immediately lost (of whom Iām pretty sure was a k-pop idol from memory) who was taking off his undereye concealer on a Live I think? And the difference was quite stark because his heavy purple eyebags were basically gone with the concealer. I canāt stop thinking about this concealer and would really like to know what it is - or even who the idol was. Thanks k-pop knowledge gods š submitted by /u/goaldiggergirl [link] [comments]

I used to be a BTS fan years ago. I grew out of it as I grew up, but I never hated them or had any harsh criticism. Recently though, I realized something that left me disgusted, they are not who they show themselves to be. None of these celebrities are. V from BTS promoting Coke was the breaking point for me. Sure, people will say āitās just a drink,ā but itās not. With the insane level of influence BTS has, every endorsement matters. I saw a post where a fan literally said, āIf BTS supports Israel, then we will follow Israel.ā Do you realize how terrifying that is? Thatās the level of blind influence weāre talking about. And Iām so sick of hearing the excuse: āOh, the company makes them do it, they donāt have a choice.ā Absolute nonsense. There are artists with far less influence who have taken a stand, refused shady endorsements, or spoken up. To hide behind the shield of ānot into politicsā is cowardly. Everything is political. The world we live in is political. If you canāt recognize that, or worse, if you donāt care enough despite knowing your platform could save lives, then you are part of the problem. V is not a baby. None of them are. Theyāre grown men who know exactly whatās happening. A genocide is going on. Children are dying. Families are being wiped out. And to sit there promoting a brand tied up in it while fans eat it up like gospel? Thatās disgusting. Donāt tell me about donations or PR gestures, you cannot donate with one hand and then help fund genocide with the other. That is not neutrality, that is hypocrisy. And honestly, itās not even about speaking up if they truly canāt. Fine, stay silent. But donāt be the one actively promoting brands that directly feed into blood money. Donāt use your influence ā an influence that literally moves nations, to help normalize it. I was a fan for years, and now I feel disgusted that I ever supported them. The level of influence they have is not harmless. Itās global. It shapes the choices of millions. And when those choices funnel money into corporations and systems complicit in genocide, thatās not ājust business.ā Thatās blood on their hands. People need to wake up and realize: this isnāt about fandoms, this isnāt about music, this isnāt about āstanningā your fave. This is about responsibility. And if you think otherwise, you might as well argue with a wall. submitted by /u/StockEntertainer1546 [link] [comments]
For context: sellout often means the artist is selling his principles/integrity/ethics for monetary benefits. Like they dont really use or like the product, yet promote it to their fans. Its just a job. Yet the fandom celebrates it, that they get taken advantage of and even mindlessly buy the products. And when the artist switches to the competitor, the fandom just follows to the new products. In other industries, the fans are much more critical about advertisement jobs musicians do and even are criticized for being a sellout and commercializing their art. submitted by /u/binhpac [link] [comments]

Pledis really never recognized fromis as their artists and it shows only by looking at rythm hive, all hybe artists are included even rookies but fromis no. What did fromis even do to make pledis hate them so bad? They are your fucking artists and they are making you money why are you mistreating them? Anyways im glad they got out of that shit company even though they basically split in half. submitted by /u/jungwonlvr_ [link] [comments]
