For last 3-4 years, kpop industry sound was as usual inspired by a lot of western artists. Doja, weeknd, tyler- there were many . But one artist who completely changed the trendy music for kpop, specially in Korea is Pinkpantheress. A lot of late 4th gen and 5th gen groups really followed her sound. If there was no Pinkpantheress, who do you think kpop groups would have followed ? submitted by /u/Gisntd [link] [comments]

I just realised that before she was in ADP, I had never heard her speak Korean before. From the little content the group has now, she still mostly uses English with a sentence or two of Korean here and there. And in today's Zip Daesung, she seemed unsure of what she could say and was so quiet 😭 Maybe it was just nerves, idk I knew her from World of Dance, if anyone's wondering :) I KNEW I recognised her from somewhere lol submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]
(obviously not your/the fandom's favourite artist's own music - don't be boring!) submitted by /u/-puca- [link] [comments]
And by adult I mean, why can't we have serious topics or justified scrutiny of the things that happen in this industry. It seems like everytime I want to have a conversation like that, I get met with a lot of harrassment? I know a lot of kpop fans are teena, but many of us are adults too. Why is the kpop community like this these days? In the past we could have serious conversations about what we saw, and we would listen to each other's inputs. Have you guys noticed this too? It's like you can't say ANYTHING negative about something you dislike in kpop without getting attacked, banned, or excluded? It's so unfair to be gaslit and targeted just because you have a different view. If someone is too sensitive to a certain topic, they don't have to participate in that conversation. That's fine. But that doesn't mean everyone feels that way. I feel like the only time we are allowed to call out something in kpop is if there's a major news story or criminal charges. But if you dare say anything negative outside of those situations, you get gaslighted. I really miss the old community, people really were a lot more open minded and you were allowed to have an opinion submitted by /u/Otherwise-Tart9213 [link] [comments]
Hi there! A few friends and I started a kpop podcast (that's not launched yet) and we made an 18+ kpop discord server to chat with other adult kpoppies and create an atmosphere for news, sharing faves, releases, fun activities, discussions, and friendship building, and we have finally decided to open it to the public. I'll drop the link here, and if you wanna join us, as long as you're an ADULT, PLEASE NO CHILDREN/MINORS!!!, then hop on in and introduce yourselves. There's no ANTIfanning, shaming, or putting other groups down allowed (we had one early member removed for putting down Katseye for their 'outfits' and 'lack of class' or whatever, we don't put up with that stuff. There's no warning, so don't even try it.) Just positive vibes, real discussions, and fun friendships to be had. We're also not strictly US/AU/EU/Etc. We have kpoppie members from all over the world, and we welcome anyone who wants to join. Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the regular kpop thread, so I'm sharing it here just in case! submitted by /u/Saliva-Enchantress [link] [comments]

Okay, I absolutely love their songs. Debut is so good even though I know some people don't like it. But I was talking to my sister who is also a katseye fan. And she said that "without katseye's performance and stage presence. They wouldn't be as big" we were talking and I agree. I think their company relies too much on there absolutely slay facecards and stage presence to care about how good or bad a song is. Cause the performance will change people's mind like: gnarly. Yes I did get it on the first listen but if I'm being honest. If I didn't watch the video and just listened to it... I would hate it. But I love it so much cause they ate. I wanna know. If you heard katseye's songs without seeing the performance would you still like it? Cause I listened to MIA and... I don't like it... But I know the performance will change my mind submitted by /u/_Boreddd_ [link] [comments]

Seasons greetings! I'm making a trading card bot for discord! But I need the pictures! I would love Kpop artists as a subcategory, in addition to anime, comics, and other media of all kinds, etc. The bot also adds frames to the cards, and those are definitely needed! Currently, the bot is not up, but is functional and coded and I do indeed have hosting etc.! It just needs pictures! Here's what I've got and where I'm going: Currencies The bot has two basic currencies and timed cooldowns. Quarters = Gained by chatting over time in applicable servers or from using a /daily command. Used to pull cards from card machines. Votes = Gained by voting on topgg. Used to trade/sell cards to other players (when I code that), and vote on new features and content that I will add to the project. This should take people a while to accumulate. Getting Cards Currently, there are two kinds of pull: 1.) Single Pull = Pull a card from a set of pools 2.) Three Pull = Choose 1 card from a set of 3 I'm definitely down to add new ways to acquire cards. These are then split into categories, ranging from general pulls to Kpop to Anime and whatever else people want to add, as well as special seasonal pulls, etc. Rarity Rarity involves a small percentage of numbered cards. These are the best cards available. It then grades the cards- S, A+, A, A-, B+ ... D-, F Card grade is just for fun/collection and won't effect performance on cards at any point. Trading Is currently possible! I'm working on more ways to trade as well as a better trade menu, but right now it's done by viewing their card, making an offer and having them accept! Up and coming is selling, but there are no plans for a global shop. IF ALL THIS SEEMS WORTH IT THEN LETS COLLABORATE Add me on discord and I'll show you a demo when I've got time! 2000s pop rock version of BDC debut song "F Girl" submitted by /u/bomiloo [link] [comments]
I honestly find it so disheartening how quickly K-pop stans are willing to overlook blatant racism and cultural appropriation the moment a group drops some catchy beats and slick choreography. This is exactly why the issue of racism in the industry never really gets addressed because fans are too eager to sweep it under the rug if the music slaps. It’s frustrating to watch. Seeing all these posts praising ADP’s music is honestly rubbing me the wrong way. Not long ago, the conversation was all about their cultural appropriation and problematic visuals. But now? It’s like everyone just collectively decided to forget because the songs are "bangers." And I have to ask is does good music cancel out racism? Is it really that easy to overlook harm as long as it’s packaged with a beat drop? Personally, I just can’t bring myself to listen to a single song from them, no matter how trendy or catchy it is. Until the group acknowledges and addresses the CA and racism, I have zero interest. It’s incredibly disappointing to see the bar this low. submitted by /u/yoongispinkelbow [link] [comments]
I want your opinion for me it might be like ofc armies blinks and stays because of the wars between them and the whole industry. But I want to know also the fandoms that are toxic with others members of the same group or that are delulu For me there is also monstiez because they can't appreciate others members because a lot are solo stans And for delulu maybe engenes I feel like some of them are really toxic idk why 🤷🏻♀️ Let me know your pov submitted by /u/Fragrant-Loquat1777 [link] [comments]
