just for general awareness, i wanted to understand how people perceive the two - how would you reaact if someone partook in your culture, and what determines if it's respectful or not. also for context, i'm indian - so my perception of what might be appreciation vs appropriation for my community and culture might majorly differ from other fans, hence wanted to prompt a discussion. please be respectful and mindful in the comments! submitted by /u/AmbitiousBeat9945 [link] [comments]
She said to the fan that gave one to her that she doesn't get why people think they're cute. I mean, girl same but someone gave me one recently to spite me and i'm starting to get attatched lmao submitted by /u/Gold_Meaning3688 [link] [comments]

I recently saw the Buzzfeed interview with 4 members of Seventeen where they were reading thirst tweets, and I was surprised that an active KPoP group has agreed to the pitch. The tweets were not PG, but I read so many comments on the video about how these were very tame and how the fandom hast crazier tweets about S.Coups. This definitely piqued my interest but I couldn’t find any of these ‘crazy tweets’. What are some of the craziest AND most creative tweets (please note that I am not looking for disgusting/harassing tweets) you guys have come across regarding your favourites? Also, where can I find a list of these so I can read them and crack up? Please note that this is a fun post and please do not share straight up uncomfortable tweets. submitted by /u/Confyused-Always [link] [comments]
An Yujin for me. I liked her when she was in PD48. Nowadays, she's just all about overly flaunting her looks, making over the top expressions and fashion show posings whenever she sees a camera at her to the point that it's turning to be kinda annoying tbh. I still think she's one of the best idols right now, but PD48 Yujin is still the best Yujin imo. submitted by /u/SnooPineapples4508 [link] [comments]
Not sure how many people here are keeping up with ATEEZ, but they’re making a comeback on 11th July with a repackaged version of their recent Golden Hour Part 3 EP—this time as a full album. It’s going to include 10 new tracks: → Two versions of “In Your Fantasy” as the title track—which also happens to be the name of their upcoming tour → Eight solo songs What’s especially exciting is how involved they’ve been creatively: → Hongjoong co-wrote and composed 6 out of the 8 solo songs → All eight members have been credited for writing their own track → Mingi self-produced and composed his own → Jongho worked with tankzzo, who’s produced for IU and Doyoung before In an interview for the IYF tour, San hinted that this tour will focus on each member showcasing a new side individually, which we are guessing could mean solo stages 👀 Also, based on what Seonghwa, Yeosang, and San have been saying in their lives, it sounds like we might even get music videos for all the solo tracks 🤞 We’ve already got Wooyoung’s solo, “Sagittarius,” with its own MV, which was part of a project called “ATEEZ Present”—something Hongjoong started to highlight each member’s individuality through music. And something that personally tickled my mind a little: the last track of the original EP was called “Bridge”, and now it looks like it was literally the bridge to this new album—connecting the title track and the solos. So clever 🙂↕️ Honestly, what a way to wrap up the Golden Hour trilogy. I’m so excited for this. submitted by /u/Sophisticated-Mess [link] [comments]

This has to be one of my favorite concept trailers by Twice ever. The styling and the vibe hits the perfect curiosity spot imo. Also, pink hair Tzu and Sana in curls!?!?!?!? This era is gonna peak SO HARD. submitted by /u/beelzebub2099 [link] [comments]
just saw a video of allday project attending some event, in a clip it looked like annie pushed woochan, but it was nothing like aggressive, they were smiling and even youngseo was chilling in the background. so was it just normal banter or does this group has some sort of power imbalance?? what do you guys think? submitted by /u/Ancient-Mousse-9067 [link] [comments]
For example I found out recently the vibe/sound I'm most attracted to lately is called Dream Pop - think songs that have that chill/indie/floaty vibe to them Actual music genres btw please not things like 'y2k' or 'girl crush' submitted by /u/-puca- [link] [comments]
This is something that i was thinking about since yesterday. Yesterday there was this whole debate between two sub fandoms of Carats because a person talked about how they felt that wonwoo's enlistment feels loong compared to jeonghan's eventhough jeonghan enlisted before him. And one of the point that was brought up multiple times was that OP does not bias jeonghan hence his enlistment probably doesn't hit OP same as wonwoo's. Now the argument aside this particular thing hasn't left my brain and i just wanted to talk about it. My bias in seventeen (my ult group) hasn't enlisted yet. Two of the members of seventeen had and obviously i do miss them dearly. But i wonder how different would it feel when eventually my bias would enlist..would there be any difference? or none at all idk we have to wait and see but people of kpop reddit who's bias member/members from their favorite group enlisted..how did you feel about their enlistment compared to other members in the same group. Were there any difference? or was it the same for you as other members was? submitted by /u/ForgottenNoMore [link] [comments]
I seem to remember seeing a clip from the Good Things era where Miyeon describes her Ideal type as "Someone who has never dated". I am having trouble finding the source of this clip or now even the original clip. Does anyone know or remember where it came from? submitted by /u/Onyx-Wolffan [link] [comments]

It indeed took me more than one listen to like the song (I am a picky listener), but after the second time, I thoroughly enjoyed the sexy, mysterious, glamorous vibes that I got from the song. The MV is insane with all the visuals they are serving esp. Vernon, Jun, Boo Seunghwan, and Joshua (Mingyu is mingyuing as always, but there 4 stood out to me the most). I would like to know all your opinions on the song esp. the MV, and who and which part stood out the most for you? https://preview.redd.it/qe9oae2bnw9f1.png?width=1725&format=png&auto=webp&s=5e2f22a4ce003c9e1bac531c63175e30c39b9049 https://preview.redd.it/5irwr4ybnw9f1.png?width=1682&format=png&auto=webp&s=a986612b18f6c63dbcc593cfcb908fae71c6e411 https://preview.redd.it/y2iqe1vcnw9f1.png?width=1290&format=png&auto=webp&s=d5b0d054e3f5306b51513b9faf9693ce379d450a submitted by /u/_bobababy [link] [comments]
Was going through Melon's Top100 looking for some music to listen to, and it came to my attention that the overall user baser of Melon seems to have drastically shrunk. The biggest songs that occupy 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., place, are charting in those positions with 200k ULs and lower, which was a bit of a shock to me. There was a time when songs would struggle to stay at #1 with something like 500k+ ULs. Even 700k+. Now we have hit songs charting with 200k ULs and the others struggling to even get that. It seems that Melon has lost an insane amount of user base or the app has just lots its popularity in general, I don't know which. I would assume other platforms like YT SK and Spotify have ''stolen'' some users, but this difference still seems kind of crazy to me. What are your thoughts on this? Is it a good or a bad thing? What do you think caused it? And do you think Melon shouldn't be taken as seriously these days in terms of determining hits? submitted by /u/oddv8gue [link] [comments]
I don’t know if anyone else feels this way but as a long time BLINK, I often feel really unwelcome in Reddit’s K-pop spaces. It’s not about wanting everyone to love Blackpink. Criticism is natural and no group is perfect. But the tone here often feels overwhelmingly dismissive or even hostile. I’ve seen countless threads where even the mildest praise for Blackpink gets downvoted or met with sarcastic replies. Sometimes it feels like there’s a collective eye roll the moment their name is mentioned. And it’s not just r/kpop. Even here on r/kpopthoughts, which is supposed to be more open to different perspectives, I see a lot of posts that feel like thinly veiled negativity toward the group or their fans. I hesitate to share anything positive because I feel like I’ll be shut down or assumed to be “delusional” or a “toxic stan.” I’ve talked to other fans who feel the same way, like there’s an unspoken rule that you can’t enjoy Blackpink publicly without getting attacked or dismissed. It’s draining, and it honestly makes me wonder why people are okay with this double standard. Especially when fans of other big groups are allowed to gush about their faves without being ridiculed. I’m not trying to start drama. I’m genuinely just frustrated. I want to be able to talk about what I love, what so many people love, without feeling like I’m walking into a minefield. I know there are toxic Blinks out there, just like in any fandom, but I don’t think that justifies the way the whole fanbase is treated. If you’ve felt this too, I’d like to hear your experience. Or even if you disagree, feel free to share, just respectfully. submitted by /u/Mani_srao [link] [comments]
In case anyone doesn't know, there was a "trend" in 2018-2022 of accusing idols of being bullies at school. Some were real cases, others were fake, and others were so hyped that they ended the idols' careers. To start, I must say that if the case is real, the idol did deserve to be accused/exposed. There are cases of celebrities who WERE bullies and apologized/accepted the consequences. Now, the thing is with those who fell foul of false accusations, possibly driven by jealousy. Garam, Soojin, almost Hyunjin... (I'm not going to get into the AOA or April issue because I don't know if they were real or not). These cases demonstrate how key it is to remain neutral until there is compelling and undeniable evidence that the idol is guilty. It's not fair that the idol who was falsely accused is blacklisted, while the person who blamed them gets off scot-free (yeah, I'm looking at you, Seo Shin Ae). Now that a few years have passed and there aren't as many scandals like this, I wonder: what can we do when a case like this comes to light? Why do people lie about such sensitive topics just out of jealousy? What if the people who were actually abused by idols were made invisible by these cases? submitted by /u/_issio [link] [comments]
