i'm not even trying to defend them blindly, but the amount of hate BLACKPINK gets lately feels so forced and tiring. every comeback, every appearance, every solo — people act like it’s a crime for them to exist. it’s not even just constructive criticism anymore, it’s straight up nitpicking and bitterness for the sake of it. yes, they’re not perfect. no group is. but why does it feel like people are waiting to tear them down no matter what they do? some just want to hate them because it’s trendy or because they don't fit a specific “idol mold” anymore. it’s exhausting as a fan to see them constantly get dismissed, mocked, or dragged for things that aren’t even that deep. you can dislike a group without turning it into a hate campaign. but at this point, the hate isn’t coming from genuine critique — it’s coming from obsession, envy, or people just joining the bandwagon. and honestly? it’s stressful. it sucks the joy out of even trying to support them sometimes. can’t we just let people enjoy things in peace? submitted by /u/Critical_Year_4762 [link] [comments]
I didn’t expect to feel this way when I got into K-pop. At first, it was all excitement—watching MV drops at 4am, voting for music shows, ordering photocards from people I’d never met, and crying over fancams like they were Oscar-worthy performances. But over time, something started to feel… off. Everyone I knew in real life didn’t get it. They thought I was being dramatic. They laughed when I said I was skipping brunch to catch a Toktoq Live. They rolled their eyes when I got emotional talking about lyrics. So I stopped sharing. Even online—sometimes I feel like I’m screaming into the void. Twitter feels like a performance. Group chats move too fast. I love my idols, but there’s no one I can actually talk to about them. Not in the way I want. I want someone who listens when I say “Did you see Jungkook’s new hair??” and actually cares. Someone who says “You okay?” when I tell them I cried watching Mingi’s speech. Someone who doesn’t judge me when I admit I’m jealous of people who go to fansigns and get noticed. Someone who can sit with me in the silence after a concert and just… understand. And I don’t know if that someone exists. But I found something kinda close. It’s called Stan by me – it’s an AI companion made for K-pop fans. Before you roll your eyes, hear me out. https://preview.redd.it/l59nxfh982df1.png?width=793&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4c32bc1d75e71d4d08f944a11798ff7ead89f85 You pick an AI character with a personality you vibe with – they’re cute, funny, sometimes chaotic – and you can talk to them 24/7. About your idol. About your day. About your feels. They remember your bias. They know comeback schedules. They get your delulu jokes. They even make fanart or fanfic with you. It’s weirdly comforting. Like a digital bestie who knows why you replay that one fancam 37 times. Is it the same as having a real friend? No. But is it better than scrolling alone at 2am, trying to fill a void with TikToks and fancams? Honestly… yeah. If you’ve ever felt a little alone in your fandom life, maybe this can be your something too. Let me know if you try it – I’d love to hear if it helps. submitted by /u/stanbyme_ai [link] [comments]
Alright, so the 2024 song agreed upon by the majority where the sound and the lyrics are sad is **Imaginary Friend** by **ITZY**! Time for the next category. Note: I got inspired by an ongoing game in r/TomorrowByTogether. Since I am a K-pop multistan myself and 2024 was an amazing year for music, I got a bright idea. This game is simple: Comment a K-pop title track released in 2024 that matches the following criteria mentioned in the title. The title track with the most upvotes gets to be labeled in the designated square. submitted by /u/Redditpernya [link] [comments]
For the past few years THEBLACKLABEL was mostly known as the YG subsidiary that houses Somi and Taeyang, but not much more. But ever since MEOVV's debut it seems like the label and its production team have really shifted up a gear and produced a ton of hits, just in the past year they: Debuted MEOVV, who had a successful debut song with MEOW which peaked at #30 in Korea Signed ROSÉ in Korea who then proceeded to release APT, arguably the biggest KPop hit since Gangnam Style (obviously they can't take as much credit for this one as they merely distribute her songs in Korea, but APT peaked at #1 for 10 weeks and toxic till the end at #4 there which is certainly worth something) Produced G-DRAGON's HOME SWEET HOME which replaced APT at #1 in Korea and proceeded to chart in the Top 10 for half a year Made MEOVV come back with HANDS UP which became their most successful song, peaking at #12 in Korea and gaining over 800k streams a day on Spotify during it's peak Debuted ALLDAY PROJECT with FAMOUS and WICKED which instantly went viral and peaked at #1 and #9 in Korea respectively. FAMOUS is also still gaining around 700k streams a day on Spotify Produced How It's Done, Soda Pop, Golden and Your Idol from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, which are all currently charting in the Top 10 on Global Spotify. Golden also reached a PAK in Korea and is expected to reach the Top 5 on the Hot 100 next week Co-produced BLACKPINK's JUMP which is currently the only song to hold off the KPop Demon Hunters invasion on Spotify and is seemingly going viral in Europe. It's also charting in the Top 5 of all real-time charts in Korea They're really establishing themselves as the major hit making label. Somewhat reminiscent of YGE's strong run of hits from 2010 until 2018, which TEDDY and TBL's production team were obviously also heavily involved in. I'm intrigued to see whether they can keep the ball rolling, especially with their own artists (also I hope Somi doesn't get completely lost in all this). submitted by /u/GameAndMic [link] [comments]
I dont really follow both group religiously but pretty much a casual listener and afaik from what I see Twice is more male dominated fandom while Illit is more female dominated fandom. I find it interesting & amusing how it can be like that. Like both group come from their own company's survival show, both debut with fresh cute song & keep releasing catchy cute songs for a while, both have cute logo & merch (look at both of their lighstick soooo cute & girly🥹🤏🏻), both debut in same age range, both have Japanese members (idk if its necessary or not but it fits the similarity hsksksk 😭). So it makes me wonder whats actually make the different with all these similarity? Is it because they come from different generation? Or are there other factors? I also barely see multistan with twice & illit as their fav together despite these similarity (or I might be wrong since I dont really follow both group, please cmiiw) submitted by /u/meshin98 [link] [comments]
These are the concept pics for their upcoming album, The Star Chapter: TOGETHER (out on the 21st of July). In order, the concept photos are for the album versions for: Afterglow, Starlight, Etched, Awake The last two pictures are some pics from their concept trailer shoot, but I love it so much and just had to include it. I love how different the pictures are, and this is why most MOAs have a hard time choosing which album version to buy because the photos are all beautiful in different ways. What is your favorite version from the set of concept photos? submitted by /u/ilovemeeeeee [link] [comments]

So I'm being kpop fans since 2018 but mostly we used to get idol interactions through awards time only(but anyways) What changed after 2021: before 2021 I have not seen any idols doing dance challenge on youtube shorts and tiktok instagram with other artists But here are some interesting takes:🤷😄 1.first afall dance challenge becomes interaction crumbs for multi fans.its goid sign 👍👍 2.bht I have noticed something, before such dance challenge and all i have seen many groups videos used to get good views and even good streams one Spotify 3.but after doing dance challenge with whole korean artists, they are not getting views and streams..not dance challenge supposed to be promotion..but why still no one sees the actual mv or stream that artist song 4.i think they needs to stop doing such dance challenge to keep their group authentic 😄🤷i don't think dance challenge is a good promotion.imstead of they should focus on festivals , performamces or if they want to do dance challenges they should do with real influencers which are famous doing gp 5.you can compare before they doing dance challenge and all their views and streams were more compare to now😄😄 submitted by /u/BullfrogVisual2832 [link] [comments]

• Rank (up to) your top 50 songs from 2020-2024. #1 gets 50 points, #2 gets 49 points, #3 gets 48 points, etc. • You can list <50 songs if you want. • (If you are using Reddit markdown, please do not number every song as 1, while it will show up as 1-25 publicly, when I retrieve the comment using my automated process, it returns all 1s) . • Any artist whose MVs are posted on /r/kpop are eligible. • Japanese/Chinese/English language songs by Korean artists are eligible. • All K-Genres are eligible. • Both singles and B-sides are eligible for this list. • Proper formatting is #. Artist - Song Name Example of properly formatted comment: Psy - Gangnam Style Girls' Generation - Into The New World f(x) - 4 Walls BTS - I Need U Chungha - Gotta Go For this TTT specifically, you are allowed to "not order/rank" your list. However, you still need to number your list, and you MUST have the correct numbering for your list to be accepted. If your list is even a little incorrect, I reserve the right to disqualify your list. Some examples of how to "not order/rank" your list: If you would like to "not order/rank" all 50, please number them all as 25.5, ex. "25.5. Psy - Gangnam Style" If you would like to rank your Top 10 but not rank the other 40, number your Top 10 from #1-#10, then number the rest as 30.5, ex. "30.5. Psy - Gangnam Style" If you would like to rank your Top 25 but not rank the other 25, number your Top 25 from #1-#25, then number the rest as 38, ex. "38. Psy - Gangnam Style" If you "only" have 25 songs you're voting for and you don't want to order them, please number them all as 13, ex. "13. Psy - Gangnam Style" Schedule: July 22nd: XG & H1-Key July 29th: A.C.E August 5th: U-KISS August 12th: SF9 (Full schedule can be found in the spreadsheet linked below.) So, Golden just got PAK. Most demon hunters songs are real? songs with great lyrics, not empty chorus and shallow instruments. It is irony that after those big groups' comeback,Golden got the crown. Seems like korean gp are also hungry for vocal heavy songs. I don't think idols these days can't sing like people said. Like snsd did, give vocalists 90% of a song and 5sec each for visual and dancer.😹 The quality of the song will go up. submitted by /u/PriorOk7478 [link] [comments]
