Let me start by saying I am literally the biggest once, I love the girls soo much literally check my profile if you believe this is just hate. And also let me preface that me having to preface with that is ridiculous. Now.. I'm sure by now you're aware, but if you aren't, TWICE's nayeon, jihyo, momo and tzuyu performed at the PINK Halftime Show at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night. And the response is soo...awful. They are receiving hate from everywhere, western audiences hated it, and it is being rightfully although brutally criticised. Many fandoms on here are complaining that the grace Once give the girls over this performance was never given to (insert fav). That if Artist A performed like this, they would have never had anyone make excuses for them. Me personally, of course I'm biased and I love them this doesn't change my opinion of the girls. This was rushed, the girls have an insane schedule, half of them were not there, the songs don't fit, and they were sick. These are all legitimate excuses. However they don't negate the fact that the performance was just plain bad. Surface level : Vocals and energy. Were not there. To say the least. The girls take responsibility for this (and again, bad day. 10 years of hard hard work and track record is not negated by this) But also planning wise. I'm afraid the girls have their hands clean for this aspect...This part I would like to discuss I am aware it is an opportunity JYP could not pass up as VS themselves wanted our girls. But VS only wanting 4, then this being evidently last minute, would suggest this was never the intended nor ideal lineup. It's so random. I have a gut feeling they looked over schedules and just chose whoever was free or willing. If I had it my way? With the restrictions? I would have done MISAMO and misamo only. Let the others rest. They would have a backing track. They would be well rested. And they would fittingly perform Runway. Then take your pick, Do Not Touch, Espresso or even a special cover of Takedown! This would have exposed their more niche songs and would have fit VS so much more.... I pray the girls come back next year and redeem themselves. The hate train I'm seeing is really heartbreaking submitted by /u/prettygirlavenue [link] [comments]
I know the album released on Monday so this might seem a little late, but I had wanted to give it a few days to really settle in and get to know the songs before I made a post. NMIXX’s music has been blowing me away for years now and, in my opinion, they really are the kind of group/artist that you should really get to know the music before throwing out reviews based on one listen! Blue Valentine (9/10) Soooo good! I can’t stop listening to it. NMIXX, in my opinion, has always been so good at selecting title tracks and I think this is no exception. I find myself singing “bluu-uu-uu-uue valentine” constantly, it’s such a cute and lovey song. I’m so glad to see it trending in South Korea and charting on Melon! Spinnin’ On It (10/10) Still as incredible as when the music video dropped! Might be my fav on the album! I still can’t believe that they didn’t release it digitally with the pre-release mv. One word that I keep coming back to describing NMIXX’s music is hypnotic. I feel like I’m spinning round and round, no pun intended, while listening to it. Phoenix (8.5/10) This song feels like Papillion’s sister! Papillion has some of the best instrumentals in Kpop ever. Can’t help but also place Phoenix up there! The beat and the vocals are just everything. It’s hypnotizing (there’s the word again!) and so catchy! Reality Hurts (8.75/10) THIS SONG!!! The chorus is so good, like seriously just sucks you in. I’m really loving the way they use electronic sounds in their music without it feeling painful to my ears/brain and this is definitely a standout! It gives them a futuristic edge that works with their concept that seems to edging on eco-futurism. RICO (6.75/10) This song sounds like an Itzy song lol. It’s great, don’t get me wrong like I love itzy, but once I realized why it sounded familiar I can’t unhear it. It’s probably my least favorite on the album because I think it fits the album the least and sounds the least like NMIXX. Still great though! Game Face (8/10) A classic NMIXX bside! The vocals, groovy instrumentals, just perfect! It sounds like something off the expergo album which I think is marked by its phenomenal bsides! Podium (8.5/10) This is such a great hype song! The spanish is so cool! I really love how much NMIXX incorporates other languages, besides English, Korean, and Japanese, in their music. It definitely elevates it! Crush On You (7/10) Such a cute song and definitely fits the album really well! It has almost tropical instrumentals?? It’s kind of the least exciting song, so I see why some people, especially NSWERs rate it low, but it’s super cute and fun! Adore U (9/10) Oh how I LOVE songs with heavy guitar and percussion!! It sounds like a band song!! This is definitely top three on the album for me!! The chorus just fills my chest with the music, if that makes sense. Band-like songs are some of my favorites in Kpop. Shape of Love (8.75/10) A great album closer (barring the o.o versions), it’s another great song with gorgeous composition. The vocals, as always, are beautiful and it’s such a great listening experience. This album is so cohesive and this really ties it into a nice bow! O.O Balia and O.O Superhero Okay, so listening to these I was just waiting fir the other version to come in. Like damn, squad was into something by combining them! Balia is pretty quintessential girl crush, a sound that I think Kpop has been sorely missing so it makes sense that people are gravitating towards it over Superhero. Superhero is still super energetic and has heavy guitars featured, which I love! TLDR; Amazing album definitely worth a listen! Especially if the last time you heard an NMIXX song was O.O and Tank. Their sound has evolved so much ans they’ve really perfected their music. Genuinely, it is some of the best in Kpop. Their Fe304 triology cemented their direction and that they knew what they were doing. Even as a non-fan, you’ll probably find at least one song you like. submitted by /u/hiekachu [link] [comments]
that w Korea event was the biggest eye opener for everyone. a bunch of brainless ,soulless empathy less rich Artists with their let them eat cake behavior. and yes it includes your favorites too. I saw bts, aespa , Ive and God knows who. these people Act like aristocracy and for what? getting drunk ,dancing ,not donating to a breast cancer awareness . how low does one fall? don't defend your favorite idol here. stop worshipping them, stop giving them your hard-earned money .. they don't give a single fuck about us. donate to charities. May kpop dissappear,May these Artists get what they deserve. not speaking up was fine, Karina publicly being conservative was fine but this? mocking the lives of those suffering from cancer? tone-deaf disgusting. posting here ,they deleted it in kpopuncensored submitted by /u/Icy_Soil_2199 [link] [comments]

So if you haven't heard, Twice recently performed at the Victoria Secret show. It was only 4 members performing, and while they looked stunning, the performance was lacking and is so far only giving them negative traction from the west. From the moment they revealed they would perform I just thought to myself, "yeah this is not at all how they're going to win over western audiences". It honestly doesn't even have a lot to do with Twice as a group, I just think a group performing at something like the Victoria Secret show doesn't really work, considering it's an event where the focus should be on the models, and an entire group of performers, doing dances, doesn't really fit there. Neither do any of their songs really fit the Victoria Secret vibe. Anyhow, I don't want this post to seem like a hate post, but at the same time I do see the double standard in how so many people get so defensive in this conversation (from what I have seen so far), but when it's certain other groups they get absolutely bombarded with hate. JYP is trying to cater them to western audiences, and with their discography I think they can pull in a lot of fans, but I don't think this was the move at all. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
I saw a couple others post this variant and thought it was neat so I wanted to post my own. Just girl groups, excluding soloists. Take a guess if you'd like 😁 Pictured: Lisa, Yeji, Yunjin, Haewon, Gawon, Seulgi submitted by /u/Dash-Fl0w [link] [comments]

Especially Rough and Bang Bang Bang. I went on a school trip to Seoul back in 2016 and would always hear the former almost all the time, playing in a shop or a restaurant. Meanwhile, me and my entire class attended a dance studio session on one day and the song picked was Bang Bang Bang. Very catchy songs! As someone who's only prior exposure to K-Pop was just Super Junior and Psy, these two groups definitely helped further pique my interest in the entire genre. I don't have a particular favourite group, nor am I a hardcore stan of any idol, but hearing a GFriend or BIGBANG song nowadays does conjure up very warm memories... (My last post on this topic wasn't very well-worded, so I've deleted it and retyped everything in a better way, sorry!) submitted by /u/RandomCarGuy26 [link] [comments]

I’ll go first. 1. If Jisoo wins Best Dance Performance. (Should be Kai or Jhope) If HUNTRIX or Saja Boys don’t win Best OST (they should win something, c’mon!) GD is King, sure — but honestly Ubermensch is just okay. Not really Album of the Year material, imo. But I have a feeling MAMA will still give it to him, because, well, he’s the King of K-pop. (I’m an ARMY and a Jin bias but I don’t think Jin should win either) submitted by /u/KimsoakJean [link] [comments]
i think it's really good to watch dan and phil's video confirming their relationship and relating it to kpop shipping. there's so much shipping in kpop it's normalized. i think it's mostly harmless but like in dan and phil's situation, it can become very harmful when shipping turns into digging. if two kpop idols were friends but were shipped too much, the worst that could happen is they won't be friends anymore. but if two kpop idols really were dating and shipped too much, you could potentially break them up. even worse if it's a same sex relationship. you'd not only be outing a private relationship, but people in the closet as well. but like dan and phil said, it's fine as long as fans know their boundaries. so if you like shipping, i highly encourage watching their video! submitted by /u/notverysourlemon [link] [comments]

There has been a ton of stuff to criticize about the handling of BABYMONSTER as a group and their music since debut from YG Entertainment. At first, I thought even though I heavily disagree with hating on a group for any reason, I at least believed that the hate was coming from valid criticism. Turns out, this is not entirely the case. "FOREVER" is an incredible song, and it is not just me who thinks that. While many non-fans favourite song from BABYMONSTER may be one of their more viral ones, most non-fans think FOREVER is the best BABYMONSTER song (at least from what I have seen). Even if this is untrue, very little hate exists for this song. Almost everyone admits it's a good song. Yet, it is almost never brought up in discussions about the group. This has got to be intentional. People like to choose and run with a narrative about BABYMONSTER based on partial truths and refuse to take an honest look at the group as a whole. It's like many people refuse to say or acknowledge anything good about them. P.S. I am not a BABYMONSTER stan btw, I just wanted to address this. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

So as many of you are aware yesterday w Korea organised event cum party where they invited most of k-pop as well as kdrama and some elite rich people of korea for there breast cancer awareness party where they did everything other than spreading awareness about breast cancer. Many people are criticizing this action where all participants did was just drink and dance rather then talking about actual topic of event. Which made many people disappointed including myself. But people cross line where they started criticized karina for her dress. Many are even sexualizing her body as well as body shamming her. Like let's be real her guys she can't anything about her big breast like if you are a women with big chest you will understand how annoying those things can be sometimes. And event is about breast cancer many women in world don't even want to talk about it since breast is consider some taboo body part you can't talk about them openly. And here people are actually body shamming women for her big chest. Like you should speak critically about organizers of this event even about celebrities who attended this event but body shamming women is not it like you loosing plot here. And karina is always soft target when it's come to body shamming and sexualizing amount of deep fake and ai generated images you will find about her is concerning. You don't need to go anywhere here on reddit only some perticular sub reddit posts about her with thousands of up vote. submitted by /u/Hmanav16 [link] [comments]
