that w Korea event was the biggest eye opener for everyone. a bunch of brainless ,soulless empathy less rich Artists with their let them eat cake behavior. and yes it includes your favorites too. I saw bts, aespa , Ive and God knows who. these people Act like aristocracy and for what? getting drunk ,dancing ,not donating to a breast cancer awareness . how low does one fall? don't defend your favorite idol here. stop worshipping them, stop giving them your hard-earned money .. they don't give a single fuck about us. donate to charities. May kpop dissappear,May these Artists get what they deserve. not speaking up was fine, Karina publicly being conservative was fine but this? mocking the lives of those suffering from cancer? tone-deaf disgusting submitted by /u/Icy_Soil_2199 [link] [comments]
So if you haven't heard, Twice recently performed at the Victoria Secret show. It was only 4 members performing, and while they looked stunning, the performance was lacking and is so far only giving them negative traction from the west. From the moment they revealed they would perform I just thought to myself, "yeah this is not at all how they're going to win over western audiences". It honestly doesn't even have a lot to do with Twice as a group, I just think a group performing at something like the Victoria Secret show doesn't really work, considering it's an event where the focus should be on the models, and an entire group of performers, doing dances, doesn't really fit there. Neither do any of their songs really fit the Victoria Secret vibe. Anyhow, I don't want this post to seem like a hate post, but at the same time I do see the double standard in how so many people get so defensive in this conversation (from what I have seen so far), but when it's certain other groups they get absolutely bombarded with hate. JYP is trying to cater them to western audiences, and with their discography I think they can pull in a lot of fans, but I don't think this was the move at all. submitted by /u/Due_Improvement_5699 [link] [comments]
I saw a couple others post this variant and thought it was neat so I wanted to post my own. Just girl groups, excluding soloists. Take a guess if you'd like 😁 Pictured: Lisa, Yeji, Yunjin, Haewon, Gawon, Seulgi submitted by /u/Dash-Fl0w [link] [comments]

Especially Rough and Bang Bang Bang. I went on a school trip to Seoul back in 2016 and would always hear the former almost all the time, playing in a shop or a restaurant. Meanwhile, me and my entire class attended a dance studio session on one day and the song picked was Bang Bang Bang. Very catchy songs! As someone who's only prior exposure to K-Pop was just Super Junior and Psy, these two groups definitely helped further pique my interest in the entire genre. I don't have a particular favourite group, nor am I a hardcore stan of any idol, but hearing a GFriend or BIGBANG song nowadays does conjure up very warm memories... (My last post on this topic wasn't very well-worded, so I've deleted it and retyped everything in a better way, sorry!) submitted by /u/RandomCarGuy26 [link] [comments]

I’ll go first. 1. If Jisoo wins Best Dance Performance. (Should be Kai or Jhope) If HUNTRIX or Saja Boys don’t win Best OST (they should win something, c’mon!) GD is King, sure — but honestly Ubermensch is just okay. Not really Album of the Year material, imo. But I have a feeling MAMA will still give it to him, because, well, he’s the King of K-pop. (I’m an ARMY and a Jin bias but I don’t think Jin should win either) submitted by /u/KimsoakJean [link] [comments]
i think it's really good to watch dan and phil's video confirming their relationship and relating it to kpop shipping. there's so much shipping in kpop it's normalized. i think it's mostly harmless but like in dan and phil's situation, it can become very harmful when shipping turns into digging. if two kpop idols were friends but were shipped too much, the worst that could happen is they won't be friends anymore. but if two kpop idols really were dating and shipped too much, you could potentially break them up. even worse if it's a same sex relationship. you'd not only be outing a private relationship, but people in the closet as well. but like dan and phil said, it's fine as long as fans know their boundaries. so if you like shipping, i highly encourage watching their video! submitted by /u/notverysourlemon [link] [comments]

There has been a ton of stuff to criticize about the handling of BABYMONSTER as a group and their music since debut from YG Entertainment. At first, I thought even though I heavily disagree with hating on a group for any reason, I at least believed that the hate was coming from valid criticism. Turns out, this is not entirely the case. "FOREVER" is an incredible song, and it is not just me who thinks that. While many non-fans favourite song from BABYMONSTER may be one of their more viral ones, most non-fans think FOREVER is the best BABYMONSTER song (at least from what I have seen). Even if this is untrue, very little hate exists for this song. Almost everyone admits it's a good song. Yet, it is almost never brought up in discussions about the group. This has got to be intentional. People like to choose and run with a narrative about BABYMONSTER based on partial truths and refuse to take an honest look at the group as a whole. It's like many people refuse to say or acknowledge anything good about them. P.S. I am not a BABYMONSTER stan btw, I just wanted to address this. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

So as many of you are aware yesterday w Korea organised event cum party where they invited most of k-pop as well as kdrama and some elite rich people of korea for there breast cancer awareness party where they did everything other than spreading awareness about breast cancer. Many people are criticizing this action where all participants did was just drink and dance rather then talking about actual topic of event. Which made many people disappointed including myself. But people cross line where they started criticized karina for her dress. Many are even sexualizing her body as well as body shamming her. Like let's be real her guys she can't anything about her big breast like if you are a women with big chest you will understand how annoying those things can be sometimes. And event is about breast cancer many women in world don't even want to talk about it since breast is consider some taboo body part you can't talk about them openly. And here people are actually body shamming women for her big chest. Like you should speak critically about organizers of this event even about celebrities who attended this event but body shamming women is not it like you loosing plot here. And karina is always soft target when it's come to body shamming and sexualizing amount of deep fake and ai generated images you will find about her is concerning. You don't need to go anywhere here on reddit only some perticular sub reddit posts about her with thousands of up vote. submitted by /u/Hmanav16 [link] [comments]
K-pop stans want live performances, but the moment idols don't sound like a studio version (while moving around and dancing, mind you), they start nitpicking and hating on everything That's why k-pop companies keep feeding yall pre-recorded vocals. Let’s be thankful that Tzuyu still sang live while having a sore throat, she could’ve choose lip sync but she didn’t. submitted by /u/PutridCause5720 [link] [comments]
Hey everyone! I’ve recently finished watching all the Produce 101 seasons from South Korea (including Boys Planet and Girls Planet 999), except for Produce X 101 — I skipped that one since I already know what happened afterward. I also completed all the Produce 101 Japan seasons, and honestly, I loved them — especially the Japanese ones, they were the best for me! Now I’m planning to move on to the Chinese versions, but I’m a bit confused about where to start. I’ve heard that Chuang 2020, Chuang 2021, and Youth With You are all great, but I don’t know which one would be the best starting point or which ones have the most enjoyable contestants or performances. For anyone who’s watched the Chinese survival shows — Which one should I start with? submitted by /u/CoolOne5825 [link] [comments]
