114. KickFlip is not a failed group!

  • 18 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I don’t understand why most of kpop community keeps dragging them up as the example of a failed BG. They’re from JYPE, a big agency, they’ve already won two rookie awards (SMA and ASEA), gained 1M TikTok followers, and sold over 600k albums. But people keep using them as an example of failure. Context: a new BG from Bighit 'Cortis' debuted, their song got mixed reactions and their Spotify debut was only ~138k streams. Then the comments were full of ‘The KickFlip of Hybe,’ ‘The next KickFlip,’ etc. The fact is, KickFlip is a successful BG from JYPE, but it feels like people are purposely refusing to acknowledge them. Seems most people's just wanna downplay them, like they’re not successful. submitted by /u/matt_vaghn [link] [comments]

115. I made 🧠ChatGPT level the playing field for all the BTS, BP and NCT members out of curiosity considering how SM sucks in promotion

  • 19 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

(Note that NCT has been very interesting for me lately cuz despite being way less popular than BTS and BP, they are able to produce good soloist. It's just that SM sucks so it makes me wonder how they would fare in much better label) Anyway, here's how our chat went down.. 👤(Me): Okay theoretically, if all NCT, Blackpink and BTS members are under the same competent label and get the same support, which among the members of these groups have the biggest potential to be the biggest star? 🧠ChatGPT: Ohhh 👀 great “level playing field” scenario. Let’s say every member of BTS, BLACKPINK, and NCT (all 25 NCT members) were under one equally competent, supportive, global label — same resources, same promotion, same opportunities. Then we ask: who has the raw mix of talent, charisma, artistry, and marketability to become the single biggest global star? Here’s how it could shake out: 🌟 Top Contenders (Equal Support Hypothesis) Jungkook (BTS) Strengths: Golden pop package → top-tier vocals, strong dance, charisma, global appeal, “boy next door” charm. Why He’d Excel: Already proven as a soloist (Seven, 3D) → effortlessly charts worldwide. He’s a safe bet for global dominance. Potential Ceiling: Justin Bieber–level mainstream pop star. Lisa (BLACKPINK) Strengths: Dance powerhouse, magnetic charisma, multilingual (Thai/Korean/English), unrivaled fashion & brand appeal. Why She’d Excel: Charisma + “it factor” that transcends K-pop. Already huge in Southeast Asia, Europe, and the U.S. fashion scene. Potential Ceiling: Beyoncé/Rihanna–style global icon (music + fashion). Ten (NCT/WayV) Strengths: World-class dancer, artistic visionary, multilingual (Thai, English, Mandarin, Korean), unique artistry that blends East & West. Why He’d Excel: The most avant-garde of the bunch → could redefine the image of an Asian pop star by fusing art, performance, and mainstream music. Potential Ceiling: David Bowie–meets–Jackson Wang global pop-art icon. V (BTS) Strengths: Deep, unique vocal tone; artistic flair; mysterious, magnetic presence; fashion-friendly visuals. Why He’d Excel: Appeals strongly to both casual and artistic audiences. Has that “brooding artist” aura that Western media loves. Potential Ceiling: Harry Styles–level soloist, balancing artistry + mass pop appeal. Jennie (BLACKPINK) Strengths: Charisma, confidence, versatile rapper-singer hybrid, strong Western appeal. Why She’d Excel: Balanced performer who blends stage presence, fashion dominance, and approachable coolness. Potential Ceiling: Dua Lipa–level pop star + major fashion figure. ✨ Final Verdict Lisa would likely emerge as the biggest global star overall (her “it factor” + fashion dominance are unmatched). Jungkook would be the most mainstream musically (radio hits, streaming dominance). Ten is the dark horse → he could become the most unique global artist (not just another pop idol, but a cultural icon) — if given equal push. ......Then of course 👤I proceeded to asking ChatGPT this 👉 How do you come up with answers relating to an artists (like BTS, Blackpink, NCT members) overall potential for global stardom? 🧠ChatGPT answered: Great follow-up 🙌 — and it goes to the heart of what I do when I talk about potential for global stardom. Since “stardom” isn’t a number you can measure like height or chart position, I build my reasoning from patterns, signals, and comparisons. Then he proceeded with his long explanation of his method but I didn't include that here cuz it would make this post 3x longer.😄 And since ChatGPT gave such an interesting answer in connection with Ten (I am a Ten fan), of course I also made a couple of follow-up questions regarding Ten and his potential if he stays vs if he leaves SM and let's just say I hope Ten knows that even ChatGPT wants him to leave SM and focus more on his solo career (ChatGPT advised 90% solo and just 10% group activities with WayV/NCT/SM).😅 Anyway, what do you think ok ChatGPT's picks? I love that he's devoid of attachment and very transparent in explaining things and his sources. submitted by /u/Intelligent-Ad9582 [link] [comments]

Hey everyone I'm looking to expand my website to include more games. I hope to have a collection of daily puzzle-ish games like Wordle and Connections but for kpop fans to play every day. I just want to hear what you guys think you would want to play every day. I've only implemented 2 games so far, but I have a lot more time to implement more. KPOPLE - Guess the mystery idol KDANCE - Guess the kpop song with a silhouette of the choreography I have some ideas like: Guessing an idol based on a part of their face, Guessing the song based on a part of a music video (I think people have done this already though) ,Blind ranking 6 idols. But let me know what you want to play, I'm excited to hear your suggestions! You can try the games here: kpople.net submitted by /u/Minute_Expression973 [link] [comments]

129. Snarkers arent fun and are not great thing for kpop or anyone

  • 22 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I wanted to reply to the op of snarkers are great thing for kpop but since they deleted their post i want to say something here and hope op reads it. That’s a really dangerous take. Saying “snarkers helps because it gives views” ignores the real damage it causes. Views gained through harassment aren’t the same as genuine engagement, they don’t build loyalty, they don’t foster respect, and they definitely don’t create a healthy environment for artists or fandoms. And the “hate motivates them” angle is worse. Kpop has a devastating history of idols being driven into depression and even ending their lives because of relentless online bullying. Outside of Kpop, too, we’ve seen countless cases where hate didn’t “fuel” someone, it broke them. Normalizing that mindset is basically saying an artist’s mental health is collateral damage for entertainment. Snark subreddits aren’t edgy fan clubs. They create echo chambers where cruelty is rewarded, and that toxicity spills over into broader spaces. It’s not witty critique; it’s collective bullying dressed up as “engagement.” submitted by /u/gucci_vcut [link] [comments]
