46. I don't care about adp and their so called nepotism

Ever since MAMA nominations have been announced I have seen fans of checks notes idols from sm, yg, jyp and hybe throw in the word nepotism so damn easily in every argument that surrounds them. MAMA has done the same thing in 2014 too and as far as the criteria for the awards go they keep changing it every 2 years just compare the criteria they had for awards in 2019 and then compare the criteria they had in 2023. How dare they nominate the most successful rookies on the korean charts for rookie of the year award? How scandalous? Mind you famous literally got PAKs and Wicked was a top 5 hit for the longest time. Annie getting to be the mc for the mbc gayo is apparently nepotism but when newly debuted idols from hybe and sm get mc positions in mcountdown, music core, music bank and inkigayo suddenly it is not nepotism and these idols earned those through their blood sweat and tears or what. Mind you the best mcs that come out of these shows are wonyoung and yujin who aren't even from big 3 and are still getting booked meanwhile every idol from big4 who retires from these music shows never gets to mc actual award shows. I just think kpop stans especially fans of sm and hybe groups are just made that the companies in which their faves are can no longer monopolize these things. They don't seem to like the fact that out of nowhere theblacklabel has the same connections as these big companies even though we all know how influential teddy is in the kpop industry. You want your idols to go to fashion shows, get nominated for big awards and get to have mc position without even qualifying for them but when someone else gets the same opportunities suddenly it is pure nepotism submitted by /u/Bulky-Ad-4022 [link] [comments]

53. Why do you think ITZY receives so much hate?

I really love ITZY and I think their songs are amazing, kiss & tell was so so good but I feel like it barely made any noise. I see so many hate trains on twitter and I feel like they’re so talented so the hate isn’t warranted at all. Sneakers I guess could be considered the turning point for them but why is their hate so constant? submitted by /u/Dear-Journalist-903 [link] [comments]

64. Give me your honest opinion about new jeans

  • 12 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I am genuinely curious about their impact within the kpop scene and beyond that ....Yesterday, I was watching a post maybe in this sub or any other sub i don't excatly remember. It was a question that which kpop group do you think can be impactful as BTS and Blackpink especially in the western music industry....so most of the comments were if there is any group that would have been as successful as BTS and Blackpink in the west it was New jeans... Some even argued that while groups like Seventeen, Twice, Stray Kids and Lesserafim has solid fanbase in the west, but they are relatively unknown to the avg gp....tbh I was a casual listener of New jeans before the conflict...their songs were earwarming but I always got confused with their names and looks, therefore I found it difficult to connect to them...but after the conflict I got to know more about them and their impact...I know they were literally Korea's sweet heart and they were quite popular in Japan and SEA....but is it true they were that popular in the west as well? submitted by /u/Due_Collection_3363 [link] [comments]
