132. Is ZeroBaseOne Never Gonna Have A World Tour

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

So ZeroBaseOne second tour just started, with all the shows taking place in Asia ending in December. The problem is that their contract is supposed to end in January. It would be such a shame for ZeroBaseOne to never had an actual world tour given that they're a very popular 5th gen boygroup. Even Wanna One was able to tour outside of Asia. I don't know what Wake One is thinking submitted by /u/cwarosvski [link] [comments]

135. Do you guys think “Global” kpop groups will become more common?

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Hey guys so I’ll start this post by stating I’m a kpdh convert, so total newbie. I tried getting into kpop as a teenager back in like 2014-2016 but I think back then copyright laws made it too difficult. Apple Music wasn’t a thing, Twitter wasn’t as big, this subreddit didn’t even exist yet. Today after listening to more kpdh related content on YouTube, I randomly stumbled across Katseye and my mind is so blown at the prospect of a diverse global group with members from all over the world and ofc the way kpdh has become such an international success, compared to the way things were when I was a teenager 10 years ago. I’m just curious on y’all’s thoughts if you think with the world now becoming more connected, do you think “Global” kpop groups like Katseye or Huntrix from kpdh that have members from all over the world instead of just being mostly contained to South Korea like in the past will become more common? I’m so curious!! thanks for any discussion! submitted by /u/zoeyzimp [link] [comments]

137. A Safe Place To Criticize A Group: Reply with something you don't like a group WITHOUT mentioning their name

I'll go first. I find ever single one of you to be quite rude. There is no concrete proof, it just constant small things during livestreams and other stuff piling up over time. I feel quite confident in my conclusion. I think you guys also definitely have a superiority complex. Your music is quite good though even if it is not my type! I do also think yall constantly have cool outfits. A criticism of the actual music though is that the rapping is not great imo. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

139. never heard a single kpop song, but was floored when I heard EJAE's very first note on the Tonight Show

I don't know diddly about kpop and had barely even heard of the Demon Hunters movie. But I follow Tonight Show on IG and was causally scrolling while doing chores when a tiny clip of her singing live on the Tonight Show popped up...and I immediately froze and stopped what I was doing and fully turned my attention to the clip. I just heard an incredibly special voice that gave me chills. I was thinking what did I just hear? Who is this? The richness, power, and breadth of tonal flavor coming out of this small woman was something I had rarely ever heard. I then had to go look up the full performance and listen on my good speakers and was even more floored. Then I began a deep dive into her background, watched the Kpop Demon Humters movie..twice, and have been consuming everything I can find from her. I am now a fan for life. submitted by /u/dresoccer4 [link] [comments]

142. If Kpop Demon Hunters got you into kpop which groups/idols have you gotten into the most since?

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Not to bring up Kpop Demon Hunters for the 10000th time but I’m kinda curious to see what artist paths people who got into kpop after watching the show ended up taking - especially since it’s been a while since it came out and it’s probably at peak popularity right so now feels like a good time as any to ask! Which kpop groups/idols have you been drawn to the most? Are you more of a casual listener or have you been deep diving kpop and you're obsessed now? Did you end up sticking with music with a similar vibe to what was in the show or have you found a different kpop sound you like more now? submitted by /u/-puca- [link] [comments]

143. What in your opinion is good stage presence?

Inspired by another recent post on this subreddit, what exactly do people mean when they say someone has good/bad stage presence? What are the factors we use to judge someone's stage presence? Also do you think stage presence is completely subjective or do you think its objective to a certain degree? submitted by /u/Gloomy-Eye9380 [link] [comments]

145. K-Pop not caring about objective quality is what makes it so great

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I understand there is really no such thing as anything objective in art quality. Also this post is not meant to discourage or imply K-Pop which does focus on "objective quality" is less than or that K-Pop has no objective quality. K-Pop as a whole has never really tried to be Radiohead or these underground and indie artists that have those insane album ratings on music rating websites. K-Pop understands that it is art, and the goal of art is to entertain and evoke emotion, not be objectively good. Not focusing on making music with objective quality much of at all has allowed K-Pop to be so much more creative, take risks, and make music with an actual identity. This is what makes K-Pop so special! It is also why I believe that sadly K-Pop is at an unfair disadvantage when being compared to a lot of non-K-Pop and why comparing K-Pop to non-K-Pop can be harmful and why many people don't take K-Pop seriously. However, i am still thankful K-Pop is like this and would not change it for the world. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

149. Yerin's Awake is her strongest song yet its not getting any attention

  • 1 day ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Yes I know its probably because it is released by a newer company, she just signed the contract and there are is a lack of promotion. She is doing a lot of fan signs and meetings but Awkae is easily top 5 post gfriend era songs released by any members. It is also the very general public friendly and trendy. It sucks it doesnt have a choreography because of her injury. But man its such a miss to not be able to promote awake. The awake mv hasn't even reached 100k views while her previous releases has at least 3 million views. I hope more people give it a listen because its been a while since such a catchy easy listen song. submitted by /u/seokjinseyebrows [link] [comments]
