I’m writing this because I’ve noticed a clear difference in how international and Korean K-pop communities define the 4th and 5th generations. Interestingly, the consensus (based on all the top comments and polls I've seen across various platforms) among Korean fans seems to be that we’re still in the 4th gen era. Their reasoning is that 4th gen groups still feel fresh, remain highly relevant, and continue to dominate the current K-pop scene. From their perspective, it doesn’t make much sense to start calling it a new generation when there hasn’t been a real “passing of the torch” yet. What do you think? Do you think it's a fair argument? submitted by /u/Acrobatic_Prize_7749 [link] [comments]
I just became aware of the HyunA case and how she went from a super beloved idol to becoming kind of universally hated because she married Junhyung. I have seen many people hating on her for marrying him instead of Dawn, her previous partner, because everyone thought they were perfect for each other. That I disagree with. Nobody should get hate for not wanting to marry someone and I don't like people comparing someone's partners like that. This type of hate was so common, I was wondering if potentially more of it was undeserved. I know Junhyung was involved with the burning sun scandal which is horrible, but I then saw more info came out and it may not be what it seemed. Apparently, the only thing he did was get sent a video of someone or him... tapping someone's behind. Now I am sure this may imply more stuff was done, some horrid stuff, but I am not even sure if he was the one in the video or not or if there is any evidence of anything further. (I literally saw two comments, one saying it was him in the video and one saying it was someone else and he was just sent the video so I am super confused.) Obviously if he was really a part of the burning sun scandal, screw him and HyunA. They are both horrible people. I just want to make sure I know all the facts. Am I missing anything? What did I get wrong? What are your thoughts? submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]
On stats.fm I found there was a picture icon mode which made for a fun way to visualise the albums yours listening to. You can find it by clicking share whilst on last 4 weeks on tracks and swiping right till you see the swipe right till you see a 9x9 grid. I hope you can find and have fun visualising your taste. submitted by /u/ARG_obesessed [link] [comments]

So ZeroBaseOne second tour just started, with all the shows taking place in Asia ending in December. The problem is that their contract is supposed to end in January. It would be such a shame for ZeroBaseOne to never had an actual world tour given that they're a very popular 5th gen boygroup. Even Wanna One was able to tour outside of Asia. I don't know what Wake One is thinking submitted by /u/cwarosvski [link] [comments]

Hey guys so I’ll start this post by stating I’m a kpdh convert, so total newbie. I tried getting into kpop as a teenager back in like 2014-2016 but I think back then copyright laws made it too difficult. Apple Music wasn’t a thing, Twitter wasn’t as big, this subreddit didn’t even exist yet. Today after listening to more kpdh related content on YouTube, I randomly stumbled across Katseye and my mind is so blown at the prospect of a diverse global group with members from all over the world and ofc the way kpdh has become such an international success, compared to the way things were when I was a teenager 10 years ago. I’m just curious on y’all’s thoughts if you think with the world now becoming more connected, do you think “Global” kpop groups like Katseye or Huntrix from kpdh that have members from all over the world instead of just being mostly contained to South Korea like in the past will become more common? I’m so curious!! thanks for any discussion! submitted by /u/zoeyzimp [link] [comments]

I'll go first. I find ever single one of you to be quite rude. There is no concrete proof, it just constant small things during livestreams and other stuff piling up over time. I feel quite confident in my conclusion. I think you guys also definitely have a superiority complex. Your music is quite good though even if it is not my type! I do also think yall constantly have cool outfits. A criticism of the actual music though is that the rapping is not great imo. submitted by /u/SnooOranges829 [link] [comments]

I don't know diddly about kpop and had barely even heard of the Demon Hunters movie. But I follow Tonight Show on IG and was causally scrolling while doing chores when a tiny clip of her singing live on the Tonight Show popped up...and I immediately froze and stopped what I was doing and fully turned my attention to the clip. I just heard an incredibly special voice that gave me chills. I was thinking what did I just hear? Who is this? The richness, power, and breadth of tonal flavor coming out of this small woman was something I had rarely ever heard. I then had to go look up the full performance and listen on my good speakers and was even more floored. Then I began a deep dive into her background, watched the Kpop Demon Humters movie..twice, and have been consuming everything I can find from her. I am now a fan for life. submitted by /u/dresoccer4 [link] [comments]
