Im not an army, but I’m a p1ece and (ex-ish) blink, and honestly, I don’t think bts‘ music is good but bts‘ jump is better than Blackpink Jump. Piwons is still the best tho (In my opinion) submitted by /u/DaGayEnby [link] [comments]
In an alternate universe/timeline, which groups would have seen the biggest impact? Because 2 years or 1 year and a half is a LONG TIME especially if you’re at the peak of your career. A lot could have happened, on top of maintaining momentum. I often wonder, would EXO have looked differently? Would BTS have made an even bigger impact on the global stage? What would hypothetically happen? submitted by /u/Playful_Study_6290 [link] [comments]

I´m very interested in all the different projects Hybe is currently working on. From a business point of view, it´s fascinating to see how a small almost bankrupt company turned into a conglomerate. (Thank you, BTS) This is a quick summary of their different projects and my thoughts about them: -Hybe Korea - Very established. Their main pillar is still BTS, it´s the backbone that gives investors the confidence that even if other ventures fail, BTS will always bring money. But Hybe has diversified a lot, their strenght is boygroups, they have boygroups basically for every demographic and music style you want. Their weakness is still girlgroups, with only two and the ongoing NJs conflict that keeps attacking them. Hopefully that will be solved soon. -Hybe Japan - Their main act is &Team. They´re doing very well, their releases always top Oricon charts. If they keep going this way, they´ll be a top group in Japan. Recently Hybe debuted another group: Aoen, they´re targeting a younger demographic with a fresh sound. -Hybe America - Honestly I think from a business point of view that Scooter Braun was a huge huge waste of money. Hybe spent a lot on him thinking that he would bring his artists (Bieber, Ariana, Demi) on to the Hybe train, but that never happened. He did nothing good for the American branch, the proof is he´s basically fired. Numbers are numbers and he kept the branch on red. The only good thing that has come of Hybe America is Katseye, and I would say it´s more because Geffen knows how to move in the American market, and they´re promoting the girls everywhere while Hybe only gives then money and support when they go to Asia. Katseye has a souldout US and Mexico tour. If they continue like this, they´ll be a top girl group. Hybe America also has a project for a boygroup lead by producer Ryan Tedder. That also will be very interesting to see how they develop. -Hybe Latin America - Their current projects are a reality called Pase a la fama, to form a regional music group, it´s joint project with broadcasting latino channel Telemundo. It already started in June. There´s also another reality project called Santos Bravos that will form a boy group. This show will start in August. -Hybe India and China - It´s speculated that those branches will help Hybe artists to tour those countries. There´s no solid information about them yet. What are your thoughts on these projects? What do you expect to see in the future?? I´m curious to see if Hybe will be operating in Europe too. It´s a good market that has not been properly tapped in. submitted by /u/stellarmacaron [link] [comments]
Before I start i like to say that I am a armycarat so. For the past few weeks I have seen some tweets about this and it is weird, like people are convinced that they know Jungkook’s friends more than he does, and they talk like they haven’t been friends even before bts explode…. I know bts had some people being friends with them for interest before but that is not the case here… submitted by /u/Visual-Ad7631 [link] [comments]
We're being silenced. We're raising our voices, but they're acting like we don't exist. All across platforms, our posts are getting removed, shadowbanned, or dismissed under weak excuses—just because we criticized Taehyung's Coca-Cola partnership. We’re not spreading hate. We’re expressing disappointment, asking for accountability, and standing with those who are suffering. But instead, we’re being blocked—on Weverse, on Reddit, on Twitter. And whenever we do manage to speak, we’re either censored, or we’re told to stay silent by the blind worshippers who applaud everything BTS does, no matter what. We're not toxic. We're awake. And we won't be ignored. submitted by /u/Patient_Comment5786 [link] [comments]
Am I the only one that feels weird about send offs ? Like besides them being super expensive they really aren't a good experience for both fans and idols in my opinion. The idols have to meet so many fans when they just finished performing. They are tired, hungry, and just want to relax before their next tour stop but have to interact with so many people. On the fans side you have to spend so much money trying to POSSIBLY see the idol face to face and have them sign your stuff. You can't even have a solid interaction with them because they are just trying to sign as much merch as possible then get to the next section. Send off should really be the next day before the group officially leaves the area after the group and the fans have had time to relax. submitted by /u/MochaMilku [link] [comments]
As someone who’s has been a carat for 3 years and has been doing studies on marketing, it’s obvious that pledis doesn’t have any idea what to do with svt, like it’s their biggest group and they don’t have any idea what to do with their careers, the pandemic got them really bad, before that it seemed like they had a plan to make them more popular but after that just comebacks and touring on the same countries, like some people like to blame it on hybe but hybe just gives the money and the rest is pledis responsibility ( same for their other subsidiaries), in my opinion it’s pledis mismanagement as usual… Some members have talked about going touring in other countries but the company always says it is a risk and shoot them down. Also don’t understand why they don’t confront the company about it 🤷🏻♀️ but okk. Now they are going to the military it is so clear that they are improvising some things, because in my opinion they should be doing solo work and showing more their artists side ( 13 tapes said hello 👋), even though I like the units, but I would love to to see that too. Now every thing seems so rushed because of the military, i don’t like the fact that they are going on tour with only 9 members, idk maybe i am wrong but this is my 2 cents 😬 submitted by /u/Visual-Ad7631 [link] [comments]
With all the success of Kpop Demon Hunters, we've seen time and time again that more and more people and idols are joining in and doing Golden covers. This also gives rise to certain criticisms and discussions because some consider that the result was not good, and of course any fan is going to take it as offense. Now, this doesn't mean that your idol or their talent is being looked down on. "She/He did it in the original key, your fav could never do it" "You don't know anything about singing" "You're talking about someone praised for their vocals, shut up" Yeah, we know that reaching high notes like those required by Golden is worthy of applause because it speaks to a well-trained voice and a wide vocal range. However, this doesn't mean that it's enjoyable to the ear; it can even be annoying and very shrill. Honestly, there are very few covers that I've liked by the time they get to the chorus. I feel like it only comes across with certain types of vocals, so it's okay if not everyone likes a cover one of your favs did. submitted by /u/Someonehihi [link] [comments]

I know people here aren't fond of this group, and they might be lacking in synergy/talent, but nobody can deny that they have crazy star potential. From how much noise they made and how they ate up the charts instantly, I think they have the power to build an absolutely massive fandom if they play their cards right. HOWEVER, the group feels extremely unbalanced right now and that might be their Achilles' heel that ultimately holds them back from hitting big. Right now, we’ve got 4 rappers (and only one of them is really a rapper rapper), and just one vocalist - and while I love Youngseo and she's my fav, she’s more of a lead vocalist and cant carry the entire group alone. What they need - and this might be controversial but stay with me - is one more solid female vocalist and one strong male vocalist to even things out and feel complete. And wait for it..... this might be the most controversial take I ever posted on Reddit and I'm a little embarrassed to even type this ...... but please hear me out 😭 Somi. She’s been kind of going nowhere lately, and getting erased and forgotten by the public. Her releases don't seem to be making any noise at all. But I genuinely think she could work really well in this group. Her vibe is expensive, rich, and she’d mesh with the group’s energy perfectly. She's also close with Annie and Tarzzan so that's already a plus. And I also always felt that the golden ratio for a co-ed group is 4 girls and 3 guys IMO. It just works. Balanced visually, vocally, rap wise, dance wise. If any co-ed group is gonna actually break big, I always felt it was going to be with this structure. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk. submitted by /u/Special-Ad6201 [link] [comments]
This tweet currently has over 60k likes. I personally think there is some disconnect between their concept and music. I was a little confused when ‘I Do Me’ dropped because it seemed a little generic considering the teasers they released. submitted by /u/DowntownFee1 [link] [comments]
Basically what the title says, if you could have one Kpop song as your theme song or OST what would it be? For me it would have to be How You Like That by Blackpink, but I’m curious to know other opinions as well submitted by /u/otaku_hotgurl888 [link] [comments]
Before anything, i wasn't really interested in their debut because every K-Pop fan knows that when a company is setting another group to debut it means their older group will be in their "end" soon. Well, I listened to The Chase and didn't bought me any attention. I know it's supposed to be like this since ALL OF THEM are either underage or barely turned 18 which the number is not really the big problem, but most of them definitely didn't had time to have a proper training, their voices and skills are still developing. And those are just my number 1 and 2 problems. My biggest pet peeve with SM with this one is the fact they don't even have a concept. Their "concept" is literally being pretty and young. Which is such a shame when Girls Generation had this more powerful and girlhood when they debuted, Red Velvet had these two sides of the group The red and The Velvet, ÆSPA with Kwangya and NÆVIS. The visuals really didn't make me forget the fact is a basic song, and all of them feel very undistinguished from each other idk... They all look the same, have no individuality yet. I blame SM and their desperate attempt to cash on every girl that enters their building. I love cutesy concept, but their 2 songs just feels so rush. Like ok Happiness was a very rushed song since SM was trying to keep down the Jessica thing, but at least the lyrics were actually interesting since they were literally talking about politics lol Their debut feels very "Glass Bead from GFRIEND" in a very uninteresting way. When S.E.S debuted with a cute concept this was something "new and fresh". A company having so much money to explore and they do this?????? submitted by /u/Kraseyii [link] [comments]
I feel like a lot of K-pop fans believe that idols that aren’t from English speaking countries are unaware of popular trends, especially social media trends and when a group or idols in a group does a popular like social media trend the comments are always like this was definitely the english speaking from english country members idea obviously that is the case sometimes but you know sometimes that is not the case and I feel like what people shouldn’t be doing is believing that only the English speaking members the ones who were raised or born in English speaking countries are the only ones who are aware of popular social media trends, other popular kind of trends. It’s like being from a country outside of your typical English speaking country means that you’re completely unaware of the activities and trends that are happening on social media, outside of social media when almost every human on this planet from all around the world has a mobile phone or any other sort of technology and has most likely social media and like it’s especially when it’s a group of gen z idols which is the majority of idols these days which is the generation that has grown up with technology and for K-pop fans to be assuming that just because they’re from for example korea or japan that their unaware of popular things is stupid. and then something else I wanna complain about is the fans that will say an idol is chronically online just for knowing of popular trends was it keeho I think someone made that comment in his live and he said along the lines of no I just have a phone just because an idol will know alot of popular trends doesn’t mean they are chronically online like we all have access to social media and mobile phones it’s not that hard to know the latest trends. Being fluent in English ≠ the only person who knows what’s trending Being non-English-speaking ≠ trend-illiterate Knowing trends ≠ chronically online K-pop fans need to stop projecting their own biases onto group dynamics submitted by /u/Desperate-Gur-6776 [link] [comments]
I've heard of this before, especially for newer male idols. I feel like I can kind of infer, but I wanted to know what people mean when they talk about male idols hitting a "man disease" phase of their career. Is it even a real thing or just something stan twitter came up with? submitted by /u/trivialfrost [link] [comments]
Seulgi, Wonyoung, and Yeosang had an overwhelming victory. While Yoon Keeho and Yoon Jeonghan had a very close fight. (Jeonghan = 46 upvotes) Let’s vote for our favorite idol with the surname of Lim, Im, Jung, or Jeong. (I put these together because there are few idols who have those surnames.) Rules: 🚨🚨🚨 Nominate a female or male idol with the surname of Lim, Im, Jung, or Jeong. Idols with the most upvotes win. Upvote result is in the 2nd picture. submitted by /u/OptionSpare718 [link] [comments]
