I saw this post in r/jpop. I asked ChatGPT to convert it to a text so I can copy it since screenshots are not allowed: "r/jpop u/Typical-Yogurt-1992 • 1d AKB48 has performed a pair of songs - one created by renowned lyricist Yasushi Akimoto, the other by an AI. Discussion It's currently being kept secret which one was written by the AI. The song that wins the fan vote will be officially released as a digital single. Song A: "Cecil" Song B: "Omoide" Please note that they only wrote the lyrics, and the music was likely composed by a professional." It seems like this is now a right of passage for every idol that is at one point or another beloved by both the media and the public. Then suddenly x/tiktok decides to hate them. I wonder if here, since we're on a uncensored sub, does these viral hate trains affect your relationship with these songs? 1 - Do you usually join it too (HATE TRAINS)? 2 - Are you on X and these viral posts there - do they change how you consume music? 3 - Can we separe the art from the artist? just wanted to hear your thoughts. submitted by /u/Small-Classic-3665 [link] [comments]
Slow and boring day at work today and I enjoyed reading opinions whenever these happened, so why not. Of course, people shouldnt outright hate, but otherwise shoot away. submitted by /u/KillerKingKobra [link] [comments]
Idk where to post this so Im putting it here So I'm in uni rn and it was syllabus week, so I'm meeting all my classmates for the first time. Anyways, I have a bunch of skzoo and aniteez stickers on my laptop, mostly because I wanted cute stickers but also because I was hoping they I could make k pop friends this way lol. Well, It finally happened! A girl sitting in front of me asked me "who's your bias" and I was so confused for a sec. I completely forgot about the stickers but as soon as I remembered them, I was like "Ive been waiting for this moment!" Haha. Anyways, I had a really nice conversation with her during our class break and found out we're both more into stray kids more than ateez (still love them both tho) and I've technically met my first k pop friend in person!! Im very excited to see where this goes (also shes not a crazy obsessed fan or anything, which makes me really happy lol) submitted by /u/Lavender512 [link] [comments]
Obviously taste is subjective, but everyone knows at least one idol who’s crazy talented or has insane presence but kpop stans still love to call them ‘overrated/overhyped’ just because of personal taste, stan twitter beef, etc (I’m talking about petty/dumb reasons here, not legit performance critique) Like I don’t think an idol needs to fit my personal tastes of what I'd consider good music/performance for me to acknowledge that they’re hyped up for a reason. An example for me is someone like Wonyoung, anyone denying her IT factor is crazy. Is her voice or style of performing usually what I’d gravitate toward? No. But that doesn’t mean she’s a bad performer by any means (every performance I've seen of her she's on 100% idol energy) - her style just isn’t my personal preference. You still have to give kudos where kudos is due, even if it’s not to your taste. Please tell me this made sense lmao submitted by /u/-puca- [link] [comments]

in my opinion idol needs to stay in their ranges, like u are not trained enough to be hitting those types of vocals, now they’ve just ruined the song by trying to do some big fancy thing that didn’t work out, now you sound really strained or really nasally, even in the live vocals, like please dont, like once or a few times is not a big thing were human but every single time, u cannot hit that note and u should stop trying. i like lily from nmixx cuz i feel she knows her range, like she can hit those notes, she can and she knows she can, i enjoy that, she can hit those higher notes and some people cannot and thats okay. other groups stay in the vocal range their comfortable with and dont need to putting big jazz hands in their vocal for example newjeans, they stick in their range and they know it works and i like that, it confidence in their vocals, it’s simple and it’s nice. they done big thing but it still works cuz they know they can do it and it still works.i dont know if they can hit those notes or not and that’s fine if they can’t. another example is siyeon from dreamcatcher she can do those big notes, hit them amazingly and outperform because she knows she can do it, she knows it’s in her range and i like that. but there are just some idols where it just looks painful when trying to do a big note/belt, like i can see the blood vessel in ur neck, stop before u pop it, u are turning red, no when to quit while ur ahead submitted by /u/Worth_Wallaby5387 [link] [comments]

Honestly, I don't follow BGs at all. I have been in this since Miss A and it's always been about GGs for me. This is not me saying BGs are bad, just that they are not my taste. I had always listened to male driven RnB and Neo KPop. But, never BGs. But, ok, That might change with Cortis. I get it, finally. submitted by /u/Final_Remains [link] [comments]
As a fan, I’m definitely looking forward to it, but I wanted to ask people here who might not follow them closely: *Do Japanese or English versions ever make you check out a rookie group for the first time? *What usually gets your attention... the MV concept, choreography, vocals, or the members’ personality? *Does having multiple versions (JP + ENG) make you more curious about a group? submitted by /u/mountainofbo0ks [link] [comments]
As the title says if girl groups from the West (American, British etc.) were global girl groups on a K-pop company ala KATSEYE, what companies would you place them on? For me; Destiny's Child would be SM because they're focused on powerful vocals and they sing in unison like SM groups, TLC would be YG submitted by /u/jdpm1991 [link] [comments]

Hey everyone, I just need to talk about this because it’s driving me crazy. I’m a STAYMY, and the way some MYs are handling the recent VMAs voting situation is absurd. Here’s what happened: Stray Kids won a voting-based award at the VMAs, while aespa lost with only 33% of the votes. The voting was done through Instagram Stories, and instead of just accepting the result, some MYs are calling their own fandom “lazy” and blaming STAYs for “not helping” aespa win. Let’s be real: Stray Kids are at a peak right now—winning awards, gaining recognition, and growing their fandom. Expecting every single aespa fan to perfectly organize and vote enough to beat that? Completely unrealistic. The numbers don’t lie: aespa had 33% of the votes. That’s not “lazy fandom,” that’s just the result. What’s even more ridiculous is the narrative spread by some fan pages, posting things like “oh, shame on the lazy fandom.” A fanpage is supposed to report news or updates, not shame people and spread unnecessary drama. And attacking STAYs or even Stray Kids for this? Pathetic. The artists had Hey everyone, I really need to get this off my chest because it’s been bothering me. As a STAY, I can’t help but feel frustrated about how some MYs are reacting to the recent VMAs voting situation. To recap: Stray Kids won a voting-based award at the VMAs, and aespa didn’t fare as well, only getting 33% of the votes. The whole thing was decided through Instagram Stories, and instead of accepting the outcome, I’m seeing some MYs calling their own fandom “lazy” and blaming STAYs for not doing enough to support aespa. Let’s be honest for a second. Stray Kids are absolutely on fire right now—winning awards, gaining recognition, and growing their fanbase. Expecting every single aespa fan to coordinate perfectly and out-vote that? That’s just not realistic. The numbers showed it: aespa had 33% of the votes. That’s not about being a “lazy fandom,” it’s simply how it went. What really irks me is the narrative some fan pages are pushing, saying things like “shame on the lazy fandom.” Come on, fan pages should be about sharing news and updates, not shaming people or stirring up drama. Attacking STAYs or Stray Kids for this situation is honestly pretty pathetic. The artists had no say in the voting! So here’s the bottom line: Either get involved in the voting and do your part, or accept the results graciously. There’s no point in blaming other fandoms or making excuses. STAYs did what they needed to do, Stray Kids earned their win, and that should be the end of it. Let’s stop fueling more drama and reframing our own fandom as “lazy,” especially when aespa’s voting percentage was just 33%.no involvement in the voting results. The takeaway? Either participate and vote properly, or accept the result. Stop blaming other fandoms or making excuses. STAYs did their part, Stray Kids earned the win, and that’s it. No need to create more drama or call your own fandom lazy—especially when aespa only had 33% of the votes. submitted by /u/Trick_Director7825 [link] [comments]

Not expecting ppl to reply butttt i gotta get it off my chest. You know that moment, when you hear someone say something out loud that you only see online? That happened to me today I was in my art class and I started to make friends with this guy and before the K-pop topic got brought up we were just discussing like pop celebrity drama, you know like the Sydney Sweeney ad and he brought up katseye. So since they’re under a K-pop company, I thought maybe he might like K-pop so I said” oh yeah, I usually listen to K-pop” and he replies “ I think K-pop stans are so weird, it’s like they’re all just obsessed with Asians.. and they always post those “cute moments” and then he went on just to basically say how we’re obsessed with them?? My rant/opinion I’m sorry I’ve just been thinking about this all day so I’m writing this as soon as I get home because.. I just never thought I’d have something like this said to me to my face like this?? it’s just something that I only see people talk about online, but I’ve never personally experienced it on how some people view K-pop stands and now that I have I just think it’s absurd and annoying. At that moment, I couldn’t even really say anything because like I don’t need his validation on how K-pop stands aren’t weird because I like K-pop for the music, the visuals the community and just for the fun of it. I just really don’t understand people who judge others based on the type of music they like like it’s not about them being Asian I’ve always been into music groups since I was younger, it’s just something so much fun about being a fan girl to a music band or group like I used to love Fifth Harmony, little mix, mindless behavior.. why dont we.. I mean the list is endless. I practically grew up, listening to pop groups until they started to become unpopular in the western world so a lot of them stopped, and the only best next thing was K-pop.. and since then I fell in love with it and I have so much fun being a K-pop fan and I’ll never stop. Cause she’s been my bias since fearless, and I’ve been supporting her since then, but recently ever since perfect night came out a lot more people started to become fans of the group and her as well. And due to that spike, you have a lot of fake fans who only like Chaewon. And now I’m seeing a bunch of videos on TikTok of female fans, hating on male fans who bias Chaewon. Cause they’re saying some pretty mean stuff and as a fan it’s making me feel like shit and it’s the worst thing to be supporting her. submitted by /u/JuuginJefe [link] [comments]
Forewarning: Really sorry but this will be long So I’ve been a Stay since March 2023 and at first it was good to be a Stay and in the fandom. Now? It’s kinda getting worrisome and depressing with each release of albums to see Stays’ reactions In the last few releases alone I’ve noticed such negativity against the songs, the boys, etc. Some I get (LMB. which I will not and do not want to touch on here. That thing is so volatile in the fandom that gives me a headache each time it’s brought up). Some I don’t. I’m thinking the ones I don’t is because I do not understand the culture behind the offences. Wish I could understand though, but I think unless you live through it you really won’t get it. Not saying you can’t try though. The stuff I read online trying to learn why Stays are so offended or not liking the releases is both really concerning, really confusing, and honestly really depressing. Some of the ones I’m talking about are the Walking on Water crip lyrics issue and the latest Creed lyrics, MV, and outfits issues. I will admit I do know the history behind crip walking cause of the 2024 Super Bowl halftime as my brain went down a rabbit hole to learn about why it was so hyped up. I just do not get why some Stays are offended by its connection to Walking on Water. If any Stay can clarify, please do. I don’t like being ignorant on things that may make me come off a racist. Others are the fact that some Stays just are realising more and more that the title tracks of the last few albums have been very bragging and of the same theme of bragging too. I didn’t realise that but, looking back, yeah I can see it. I just also know a lot of the songs are old but revamped so I don’t really think that should be an issue I guess. I just am now fearing any future releases cause the negativity in the fandom feels like it’s getting louder and is just, well, bumming me out on any excitement I know I should be feeling. submitted by /u/InfernalHana [link] [comments]
