i LOVE a good ad-lib/background noise or moment and tbh i want a song to be fUll of various ad-libs and little added moments to give it real character and depth (unless it's like some really sad emotional song lmao but yk) so what are some of your ALL-time fav ad-libs from any song/s? bonus if it's a less noticeable ad-lib/background moment that's a bit of a hidden gem :) some of mine include: the ultra high pitched "strAnge" in the 2nd pre-chorus of Enhypen's Sweet Venom the "mwah" kissing sound in idle's Queencard after the "i wanna with you popo" the cutesy patootsy "hello" in the beginning of nxde after "hello my name is yeppi yeppi yo" the "lalalalalala" in the chorus of good thing by idle jongho's "no no no noooooo" near the end of Ateez's cyberpunk the "yahhh...yahhh etc." during Hongjoong's first part in ice on my teeth basically every single ad-lib from MATZ enhypen brought the heat back 2:23 idk if this is classified as an ad-lib but the screen in monster by seventeens hip hop unit will always serve the "wooohooo" throughout boynextdoor's earth, wind and fire the iconic scream before the chorus of nct 127's fact check and my man's (jaehyun) heavenly "ready or not", and when they basically just start hooting and hollering in the background near the end (i lOve it) in stray kids' jjam "sing" "dance" "rap" before each racha does their part the glass breaking sound effect in s-class submitted by /u/Important-Zombie9331 [link] [comments]

K-pop stans switch favorites like changing outfits just in the past few years, groups like Red Velvet, STAYC, EVERGLOW, ITZY, TWICE LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, (G)I-DLE, IVE, and XG have all had their moment in the spotlight, only to see global hype fade quickly. I’m not saying they don’t have domestic fanbases they absolutely do but among international/casual fans, the buzz dies down fast. And now with AESPA after Dirty Work, it feels like that might be happening to them too. So, Golden by HUNTR/X just became the first female K-pop song to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Huge milestone, right? But here's the thing: the real artists who actually recorded the vocals (Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami) are barely mentioned. The spotlight goes entirely to an animated group that didn’t write, perform or even exist. This isn’t just a weird crediting choice. It’s a warning. The industry is showing it values manufactured “faces” over real human talent. Virtual idols, AI voices, completely controlled images...they’re cheaper, easier to market and come without the messy realities of actual people: schedules, opinions, demands, mistakes. We can cheer now, but what happens when this model starts replacing opportunities for real artists? When the people whose voices, emotion and labor create the music are sidelined in favor of pixels and algorithms? This isn’t the future I want for K-pop or music in general. I’m not against Golden. I feel like this whole beginning of 5th gen era is really TBL time to shine. They’ve had their hands in so many things. ILAND 2 and the songs coming from IZNA which are absolute bangers imo, MEOVV (their first group) who I could argue have the most potential… ALLDAY PROJECT, Somi as usual… they even had a hand in Blackpink’s Jump AND can’t forget they had a huge hand in the music and influence on the music of Kpop Demon Hunters. You can even see a MEOVV poster in the hallway at one point and they co-produced half the songs on the soundtrack including GOLDEN. Almost every week, a new Kpop group debuts. Between 80 and 100 groups are launched each year, but only a few, often fewer than 5, manage to last for 7 years. Big 4 companies bring out new groups every year, while smaller agencies often find it hard to get their groups into the mainstream. The industry is saturated and highly competitive, making it difficult for smaller groups to succeed. Instead of always trying to create the next big group, companies should spend more time and resources on the ones they already have. So enhypen is one of the best 5th group musically, they have a big fandom but they were never able to reach that level of having that HIT song. Which is surprising because their songs are good. Some are miss ngl (perfect mic, sweet venom) but still esp in beginning their songs were really good and even after that No Doubt their last song is so good .
