The subreddit is mostly uncensored as long as people follow the rules. Generalizing statement about Korea, Korean society, etc or most other countries are not acceptable except under the following standards: The only claims that are acceptable when generalizing Korean society in this sub are those that bring up generalizable stastical claims by the standards of the international statistics institute. Not only do the vast majority of stastistics you can find on the internet about Korea not up to this minimum, basic standard but this requirement includes having ample sample size, blocking by relevant demographics and sometimes even double blind tests. So if you make a generalizing claim, your wording must be properly formatted and links to the relevant studies provided. In other words, the standard for making a generalization is very high in this sub. Not to mention the wording for your claim has to be properly made. Anyone who has taken a college level statistics class will know what I am talking about and we may even require you to provide the confidence level interval if it's relevant for your study. If you cannot meet these standards, I would just avoid doing it in general. submitted by /u/Kpop_Love_Forever [link] [comments]
I know people say Koreans are more aware of what EDS are, since the rise of Korean Mukbangs on YouTube there are more documentaries about Binge Eating, Anrexia, and etc. But being Thin and considerably "Pretty" is important for East Asia. SK has a emphasis on "Dying" for Beauty, where 16y olds are being dragged to PS clinicals because their parents constantly bullies them. Or they simply do some crazy diets = Pure Starvation. So with that being said, I don't think half of these idols who claims to be "Healthy" knows what actually a healthy person is. At least those who are still working/touring. They dance daily for hours, eating 1 simple meal a day or nothing at all, because not only is important to lose weight either way your company will fire you but it's almost mandatory to being skinny because part of your life/work is about that. Like when HWASA start to create this "Curvilicious Body" trend where bodies like her were becoming more "acceptable" but the body in question most of the time was a contribution of Starving and Binge eating. APink Bomi also talked about this year's ago. Bomi would often starve in tours where she had to dance in practices and performs while drinking like protein shakes. And when she tried to make a Mukbang Channel eating healthy, slowly everything became to crash and she started binging again. Now idols are not "allowed" to talk about their actual diets as they were a few years ago, because now people are realizing that is pure ANA EDTWITTER PEAK, grown people smiling while saying "I didn't eat for days" or not smiling at all and just stating "Well, I only drink bone broth but I lost 4kg so... Nothing to complain". I won't drag Karina for stating that she often binges and starves while running in winter clothes to shed that extra weight, it's more how casual they say it. They don't see the problem at all. But then they're eating 10000kal like it's nothing, and this is very worrying. No wonder they are often hospitalized. Nobody's safe from these industry rules. submitted by /u/po_pov [link] [comments]
I recently came across a video talking about Niziu, JYPE's Japanese girl group who's been around since 2020. They claimed that JYPE doesn't appropriately promote their group and that's why, in OP's opinion, they are not well known. First, I've followed that group since the survival show, and they are very popular in Japan. They may not be on par with some of their Korean JYPE counterparts, but they're fundamentally different and breaking into different markets. So, naturally, I expect their growth to show in different ways. They're currently releasing promos for their upcoming mini album, and the content has made me excited and the girls all look amazing. I think it's going to match what they've already released and I'm looking forward to see them grow as a group. Anyway, I don't think any group, other than F(x) back in 2016, has been under promoted by any of the big 3, now big 4. Your Favorite main stream kpop group is not underpromoting. You're just not following their page/ YouTube/tiktok closely enough and expect algorithms to bring their content to the top of your fyp. These big companies are making soooo much content for these groups. I think it's time to quite pointing fingers at promotions and instead shine a light on big tech and how every second of our attention is being paid for in one way or another on all these social media sites. Let's not blame fans either when there is literally no more space in their attention for the next comeback. It's the algorithm and happenstance at this point. I think this also applies to smaller groups/ companies. They don't have the deep pockets to pay for their appearance on our fyp. And are competing against the big 4 for our attention. So, even groups like Dreamcatcher or Everglow aren't necessarily being under promoted, but being drowned out by everything else. submitted by /u/fictionalfinesse [link] [comments]
Between BabyMonster, BoyNextDoor, FIFTY FIFTY, (G)I-DLE rumors, and Yunhoâs return⌠October is packed! Which release owned your playlist this week? https://preview.redd.it/fe4o7nb11zuf1.jpg?width=620&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=69c0b3a7593e1cfab1ca1e9784de5a15bc0569ae submitted by /u/Zestyclose_Nobody933 [link] [comments]
In so many of those videos that have live vocals and stuff, like killing voice or it's live or whatever, there's such blatant editing of the vocals and it doesn't even sound good either. Because they're so inconsistent with it, like you'll be getting minimally edited vocals, and suddenly there's a random "YEAHHH" that's so obviously autotuned and it just cuts through everything and it sounds so fake and I hate it so much. Like ofc not every singer is gonna have perfect intonation, so not every note's gonna be perfect. Like that's what you should expect when you click on a video with live vocals. But they just wanna make everything sound perfect, and so you get a weird mishmash of vocals, and it ends up being worse than if they just didn't edit it at all. I guess it would be fine if they were good at editing it, since pitchy singing pisses me off too, but the thing is they're also really bad at editing. Like it doesn't sound like professionally done post production in the studio or something. It just sounds like they fed the audio file into melodyne and tuned everything, but didn't bother making sure that the constants weren't pitched, so it just sounds like some goofy ass kid with an autotune mic. ngl I feel like killing voice used to be a bit more high quality, but not it doesn't even sound live, just like any other stage performance or something. Like what's the point of making videos to showcase vocals like that but not actually showcase them?? And also it feels like no one else really hears it? Like all the yt comments or reaction channels (ik it's cuz of fans and stuff but still) are just glazing them so much. Like bruh nobody sounds like that irl submitted by /u/Background-Tension71 [link] [comments]

They truly changed K-pop when they debuted that freshness, that energy, that sound. Itâs been quiet lately, but I really hope they return with the same impact they had in 2022. No group did âminimal but powerfulâ like them. đŤ https://preview.redd.it/uams391ouyuf1.jpg?width=564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff51754295a2a88503bb106bc3f1cb7c80925d82 submitted by /u/Zestyclose_Nobody933 [link] [comments]
Twiceâs This is For World Tour is currently at 73 shows, across 4 continents and 19 countries. I have been hearing so many complaints from Onces, saying that this tour is âtoo bigâ and âshould have been a stadium tour (with less stops)â. While I understand that they are doing a lot of shows back to back, most of these shows of these are in North America (30 in USA, 4 in Canada). So travel wonât be a major issue during this time. Especially because the first part of the NA leg is divided up into two parts (there is a two week gap in between their Dallas->Washington days). Meaning, for their NA leg they are spending about 4 months touring the USA. So how is does this compare to other artists? Here are some other tours from the past 5 years that also have a lot of dates with âlittleâ time in between (and where the artist is dancing / moving a lot during their shows to make it fair). Lady Gaga - Mayhem Ball Tour 84 dates (+2 Coachella shows), almost exactly 1 year in between start and end date (mostly usa) Taylor Swift - Eras Tour 146 dates, a year and 8 months from start to finish (global) Blackpink - Born Pink 66 dates (+2 Coachella performances if you want to add that), 11 months from start to finish (global) Pixy - Karma is a B 42 dates, 1 month and 6 days from start to finish (usa only) BeyoncĂŠ - Cowboy Carter 32 dates, almost 3 months from start to finish (almost entirely USA outside of 5 London shows and 3 Paris shows) Above were tours that had a focus on artists who had most of their performances in the USA and or many dates within a year. I can even bring up some other artists like Megan Thee Stallion, Katy Perry, Tate McCrae, and more but I think you get the point. I am just saying that the schedule of performing a show and then getting a 1-2 day break in between is normal even for those with a longer tour in different areas. But why not do stadiums? Why âwasteâ their time by doing several arena shows? Very popular artists will do residences in arenas when they can sell out stadiums choose to do arena for many reasons but here are some generic ones: â˘Weather. We all saw how the disaster that was Stray Kidâs Dominate show in DC, with how the rain cut / canceled the show early and caused fans (on the GA floor who camped pit for good views) to leave causing messes and people losing their spots. I believe heat was another issue in I THINK Arlington as well. I believe one of these venues were a baseball stadium and the other was a regular outdoor stadium. â˘Intimacy. Many artists have said that they prefer smaller venues as it enhances the experience for both fans and the artist. Especially conceptual / Theatrical shows such as the Mayhem Ball tour rely on this closeness i order to follow along with the story that is being told. The immersion is best when the audience can see the artist and the stage clearly. â˘The shows presentation / design itself. Twiceâs tour stage is probably the most advanced I have ever seen, especially for a Kpop tour. this kind of flexibility is highly unlikely-impossible to have in a stadium. Even for SoFi Stadium (where most people are complaining about the 6 California shows), a closed off stadium, i HIGHLY doubt the integrity of the show would be possible. and lastly, and arguably the most important: the sound *An artistâs tour I would like to compare to Twiceâs, who did a 360-show in a stadium is Metallica on their M72 Tour. * There were many complaints of people not being able to properly hear them because of the way sound travels throughout a venue, even if you were in the lower bowl. If you would like a technical breakdown of what the problems of the setup were and how that problem can be similar to Twiceâs (if they did do a stadium tour instead), please check out the the YouTuber âChris Hammill Audioâ. Their video (that I cannot link for some reason) is extremely detailed and throughly explains why the 360-stage design in a stadium would not work. My final point is more at k-pop generally. I understand that Kpop is technically popular and not niche anymore, but artists still relying on the same 5 popular cities for all their tours isnât normal. Twice branching out and coming to less-attending cities is a great step in the right direction and a great sign to those living everywhere in the US that isnât Los Angeles, Dallas, or New York. If you are one of the people who are discrediting this tour saying it should have been stadiums, please try to understand that Stadiums that arenât always the best way to go about a show! We all know Twice isnât âfloppingâ, we know they can sell out stadiums anywhere, they just donât need to anymore. At this point in their career they are focusing on the Art and Fans, not huge numbers (even though they are still pulling huge numbers, already surpassing their last stadium in terms of attendance). I know this was a lot of rambling, but I hope it made sense. I can clarify if needed. submitted by /u/ICMAGU [link] [comments]

This question has been on my mind recently and it really got me thinking about who I considered to have the best Debut in my opinion and after thinking this question over and going through my mind about all the kpop debuts I know of for me the best Debut is NCT U. Now I'm not even a nctzen, but when NCT U came out with 7th sense in 2016, it blew my mind. It was different from what I was hearing in K-pop around that time period along with the visuals, and the dance was killer. I was watching dance cover after dance cover of that song. It was such a good mash up of amazing raps and killer vocals. I still really love the song till this day, like that song never gets old for me. That's why, for me, NCT U still has the best debut still in my opinion. Now, I would like to hear what everyone else's opinions are for best debut. submitted by /u/GoodVibes10000 [link] [comments]
