I wanna preface by saying this is not a hate post, I loved Kpop Demon Hunters and I'm just curious what kpop stans think of it. It's actually kinda funny because it feels like what was happening in the movie is happening irl because people are soooo obsessed with it and I'm seeing it mostly in people who aren't or weren't kpop stans (not that it's a bad thing). So I just wanna know if any kpop stans are as obsessed with the movie as other people. submitted by /u/kritonias [link] [comments]

This might be an unpopular opinion, but Iâve been thinking about BTSâ upcoming comeback and wondering if it will actually meet the sky-high expectations. Yes, their fanbase is still huge and dedicated, so the first-day/week numbers will probably be impressive. But there are some factors that might hold them back from reaching the same heights as their peak era: Shifts in the industry â New groups have been dominating while BTS has been on hiatus. Trends in both K-pop and Western pop have also changed, and casual listeners might not engage the way they used to. Their endorsements and actions calling for boycott particularly V over coke endorsement. A number of fans have expressed disappointment, and some even said theyâre leaving the fandom because of it. While ARMY is still strong, controversies like this can chip away at their global image and create friction within the fandom itself. Plus Hybe itself has been under fire recently (management issues, exploitation of artists, shady business practices), and because BTS is so tied to HYBE, any backlash directed at the company inevitably spills over onto them. For some people, supporting BTS now feels like supporting HYBE, which is a turn-off. Iâm not saying the comeback will flop theyâre too established for that. But it might not reach the same global takeover level of âDynamite,â âButter,â or âPermission to Dance.â Instead, it could end up being more of a fandom-driven success than a mainstream phenomenon. What do you think will BTSâ legacy and name power carry them to another record-breaking era, or will the changing industry and ongoing controversies hold them back? submitted by /u/switcharooo19 [link] [comments]
