"bts changed because of their complicity in the genocide" all things aside from collabing with mcdonalds, coca-cola, FRED by jin, etc etc etc. AGAIN let us NOT speculate what they do and do not support considering bts are 1. not diplomats 2. not polictians. if anything this anger towards them should be towards YOUR OWN politicians whom you voted for and not towards random celebrities. okay firstly, lets back up with some talking points. its weird as an idol seeing people slam bts for this especially when all of them got out of the military, considering their favorites do the same thing, skz seen outside drinking starbucks, jennie promoting coca cola, aespa eating mcdonalds and the list goes on and on and on. its weird how people slam bts for the same things their favorites did. these people will say "bts is not influential" then say the opposite whenever someone says "so why dont you criticize your favs then?" and they said "oh well bts is popular", and I URGE you to PICK A SIDE. is bts influential or not??? Second of all, all of this SCREAMMMMSSSS performative activism to me. i am an active endorser of the BDS movement, but the boycott SHOULD BE A PERSONAL CHOICE!!! PERIOD!!! sure, it isnt wrong to ask people or encourage people to follow the list, considering thats what a movement is, but it gets to a point of degrading people who use these products in the privacy of their own home. at the end of the day, its a personal choice. and its always funny to me i always make a meme like "when im in a performative activism competition but my competition is kpop fans" because i always see when i open tiktok of an army crying because taehyung endorsed coca cola and ripped what seemed to be 4k+ worth of albums and posters... i was like ???????????? girl wtf is that for LMAOOO. perfomative activism is a disease. and i see these videos everyday ever since taehyung did that damn ad. if you wanted to support palestine you could have sold those and donated that money for palestine bUT NOOOO you wanted to save palestine today by.... ripping up posters of taehyung? like damn okay ever since that coca cola ad armies are crashing out and we can see who is doing performative activism and who just hates for the sake of hating. most of the "armies" that are HATING (i specify that bc its different from criticism) on bts are mostly multistans in which i can see theyre old armies and they want to project that fame into other groups as well. next, people use the talking point of bts career being "political" which sure, i can say, true. but let us remember it is ABOUT THEIR OWN COUNTRIES ISSUES. SOUTH KOREA. people like to disagree with this and say "oh why did they go to the UN, white house, etc etc etc then?", first of all, i dont remember bts talking about wars and sides and etc etc, it was all about general PEACE for everyone around the world. they never talked about war, they never talked about sides, they never talked about the middle east etc etc. they spreaded about asian hate during covid, spoke about children, but thats about it. when has bts even said something remotely something about sides? and second of all, even in BTS OWN HOME COUNTRY by the way, they NEVER even said anything about the two parties in here. it was about general SOCIETAL issues bts was talking about in their songs, so its crazy to me people say "bts was always political" which is yeah??? ofcourse!!! but theres a difference between pointing out issues and endorsing and picking which sides like a politican. how can idols even talk about the conflict in gaza when they cant even wear red and blue during election period and hold up the peace sign? also, if bts even says their side on anything, if youre really gonna base your political views based on what your favorites, im sorry but you do NOT deserve to have any platform to speak about palestine. everyone SHOULD be able to research and pick what side they support instead of looking towards celebrities to do so. sure, it would be nice if these idols would speak up but instead of actually wasting our time asking for their opinion we need to ask "what should WE do for palestine?" painting all the bts members are "murderers" and even comparing them to horrible people like seungri and taeil is really fucking low and shows that you dont even care about gaza, you just want an excuse to hate on random celebrities just to validate your favorite groups success when in reality your favorite group DID THE SAME DAMN THING!! im not saying bts is immune to critcism, no no no, i do believe that BTS has alot of controversies in the past needs to be addressed or atleast put into other light to hold them accountable, but comparing them to literal criminals is INSANE. do you guys hear yourself? look, if youre gonna be an ex army because of that, its your personal choice, nobody will shame you for that. in fact, if youre gonna take a step back from army and bts in general because of their choices in advertising, then thats on you and you curate what you consume and what people you support! but if youre gonna LEAVE the fandom and full of hate the people who were once in your fandom for staying there, thats a different thing. at the end of the day, no matter how "political" bts is. its a damn fucking kpop group. like i know bts is influential and did alot of stuff for the prosperity of korea and etc etc. BUT LOOK AT IT. take a step back, everyone. look at bts. they are a boy band group. a fucking group in a system where youre meant to act cute and sing songs guys!!! THATS WHAT A KPOP GROUP IS!!! clear and simple. submitted by /u/iam_selc [link] [comments]

As the title says, recommend an underrated Kpop song to anyone you know, preferably someone who has an open mind and ears to any music, is familiar with Kpop, new to Kpop… along those descriptions Before doing that, let me know what song(s) you want to recommend. I like to know the community’s music taste. This is purely to highlight underrated gems in Kpop. For me, I would recommend a song like Domino Game by Kiss&Cry submitted by /u/I_Am_Complex_98 [link] [comments]

I just saw TWS do the trending dance to the newjeans remix and I was just thinking about how many people/idols have been using this two year old song this past year ( i swear I’ve seen enhypen do the dance too not just use the sound but i either can’t find it or i was going crazy and it’s not realπŸ˜“) Anyways I just think it’s cute when this stuff happens (there’s probably more idols doing this dance but this is just some!) submitted by /u/starsarrr [link] [comments]

59. What is the prettiest melody you have heard in kpop this year?

  • 11 hours ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was listening to my favourite kpop songs from 2024, some of which are: Cosmic by Red Velvet, Shooting Star by Kep1er, Virtual Angel by ARTMS... they all have such beautiful melodies. This year, I haven't had much luck with pretty melodies. Even the songs I really like so far don't have melodies that could compete with last year. Maybe the closest is Stunner by Ten? Or Nerdy by ifeye? I didn't notice until I realized I was craving them. I had a similar revelation last year when EXO released Let Me In/Hear Me Out, except that one was for harmonies in kpop. What, in your opinion, has been the prettiest melody you've heard this year in a kpop song? Do any of them make you wanna ride on the rhythm through the solar system? Maybe I overlooked it! submitted by /u/ilikeseals_030 [link] [comments]
