The weird distain for kpop groups doing mature concepts is annoying.

This is more of an online issue more than a real life issue in my experience, but it really annoys me when " fans " of groups get mad or even attack other fans when a group or soloist does a mature concept for their songs. I feel like it's a part of the problem with some people in fandoms babying their idols and treating them like children when they are grown adults, especially older gen. The amount of comments I see under post thinking a idol is hot or shares clips of the mature song MVs and there will always be that group of fans that complains that you're sexualizing them. Or when am idol perfoms in a manner thats mature, they'll say that they're doing too much. I sometimes see this get brought up for the waterbomb festival. These same people will get mad that idols and fans have consensual flirting when meeting during lives, meet and greets, etc saying that the fans are sexualizing them when the adult idol will literally be engaging with the interaction with a respectful adult fan. I feel like this also ties into a subsection of kpop fans who do not like idols getting older, older fans, and want idols to stay innocent children forever. submitted by /u/MochaMilku [link] [comments]

2.081. Why is ENHYPEN still doing so well?

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

*By the way this is about 4th gen boygroups This is not a hate post of any kind and I'm and engene as well but recently I've also been following other groups. I've noticed that in general, the trends of their album sales on various platforms (mostly this) as well as streams and popularity of songs seems to be going in a general slightly dropping trends. However, ENHYPEN has never really been affected by this, and they've even managed to keep growing their fanbase since there's always something that makes them semi viral? (mind you they're almost 5 years old already!) As an engene of course im so so happy but im curious, why is that so? All of their albums are doing better than the ones before and even their Japanese albums manage to break records after records. I'm just wondering what could be the reason for such success, and (if possible) how it would be to try to recreate this effect in other groups? submitted by /u/Ikniszyo1 [link] [comments]

2.082. What is wonyoungism? someone educate me please

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It first popped up on my pinterest feed and then I got “wonyoungism playlist” recommended on yt so now I’m curious. Is the objective to simply become a better version of ourselves? Based on what I’ve seen this feels like an old tumblr ed promoting content repackaged as coquette 🎀, but I’d like to believe we’ve changed haha As a 2nd/3rd gen stan I have very minimal knowledge on recent groups (I know who she is and enjoy some of their songs, but that’s about it), so I apologize if this is a grossly outdated trend! submitted by /u/shiomusubi [link] [comments]

Sister songs— songs from different groups that sound like “sisters” to each other because of sonic and thematic similarities. They sound like they can belong in the same era despite it being from different artists. OR One sounds like a follow up to the other. Mine are: Fromis_9 Like You Better/ Illit I’ll like you (literally sound like an older and younger sister pair) Txt Lovesong/ Bts I need you Txt Loser=lover/ Bts Run Red Velvet Psycho/ Twice Cry for Me Itzy Not Shy/ Le sserafim Unforgiven What are your sister songs?? submitted by /u/Accomplished-Ad-3422 [link] [comments]

2.094. SSE creative effort difference with IVE and their other groups.

  • 2 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I have seen several frustrated dives about IVE'screative direction recently and I get it why you guys are mad and shady but I think the reason why the company is making more effort with their newer grps like kiiikiii or idid is because those grps need hype, attention and they need to build fanbase. IVE is pretty established in korea and slowly gaining momentum outside sk. They are the face of starship. For me, they don't need the big push anymore but ofc, they still need to be promoted. Also, I think the creative direction is not really a problem with IVE aside from that awful choice to use AI for their upcoming cb. Their successful cbs are not because of the creativity of the album or the roll out but the song choice itself and ofc, timing. I know concepts can help build hype, but the grp already has a strong fanbase and the fandom loves their music. The complaints shouldn't be directed to the grps under starship but the company itself. Anyway, wishing success to all the grps under sse. submitted by /u/behindsomewalls [link] [comments]
