2.241. 2ne1 is still friends with Alexander Wang.

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This situation truly shows me that sexual assault cases involving male and trans victims are completely brushed out by the public, because how tf can Alexander Wang still have a platform after he APOLOGIZED for how he behaved with the male models accusing him of sexual misconduct ? (If you don't know, he's been accused of sexual assault by 11 individuals, he denied it at first but then apologized and met with the alleged victims) When Cl went to the Met Gala through his brand, I thought that it was because she had to fulfill a contract that she signed before the whole thing went down. Wang disappeared for some time but then made his comeback on the runaway, and then took a photo with G-Dragon, CL, Minzy and Dara ?? They are still close ? Even publicly supporting him after what he admitted to have done to those men ? What in the world ? That crushed the reason why I was such a big Blackjack and GBZ to begin with. How can you sing about empowerment and fighting your way through life, and be friends with someone who abused his power to do things to people who couldn't fight back without facing career ending consequences ? This is just so shady and wrong. I am not saying that people should stop supporting their faves, but they should be at the very least be held accountable for rubbing shoulders with a predator. I know that I am not going to support them in their future projects anymore unless something is done about this situation. submitted by /u/PinkIslandRhino [link] [comments]

2.248. Which trainees do you still think about and wish would debut (or finally did)?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

I was recently thinking about all the K-pop survival shows I watched, and the trainees I kept rooting for even if they didn’t make the final group. For me, one of the biggest ones was Lee Jaeeok, who was on Under Nineteen and Wild Idol. He made it so far (ranked 8th!) but didn’t debut. It always broke my heart a bit. But this year, I found out that he finally debuted as a soloist under the name AEEO with a small indie release called Stars. It’s emotional, stripped back, and honestly… beautiful. It makes me so happy to see him still chasing his dream. Curious to hear from others, which trainees stuck with you? Whether they disappeared, debuted later, or are still waiting for their shot? submitted by /u/Positive_Glass_442 [link] [comments]

2.253. JUMP choreography is pretty boring

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

First things first, I like black pink and their new song. I just think that if you look at black pinks choreography with other songs, this one is just a little boring?? Idk the whole song they just do this weird hip wiggle thing and they walk around a bit. And that’s it. It’s okey to have some simple choreography’s don’t get me wrong, but it’s just getting simpler and simpler with each new song. (Sorry for the bad English. Also I didn’t know which flair to use šŸ™ƒ) submitted by /u/Cry_baby10 [link] [comments]

2.255. Shippers are ruining my experience

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

Inspired by this: www.reddit.com/r/kpoprants/comments/1mauf0x/solo_stans_are_ruining_my_experience/ The way army constantly talk about solos but say nothing about shippers says a lot. Most ARMY are SHIPPERS. It's always been that way, unfortunately. And it's normalized in big communities to the point where everyone takes it for granted. Everyone likes and spreads the crap made up by shippers. I'm sick of all the shippers. Because of them, I don't even want to call myself an army (And everyone here has to say, if you don't like it, leave. Which is what I did). I've subscribed to over 100 pages about BTS, and I didn't even suspect that they were hardcore shippers. When I checked and "cleaned up", I only had 12 accounts left that weren't shippers. Because fandom don't fight them, but rather support them, they have united and now you can't tell who is an army and who is a shipper. Because now it's the same thing. To any comment, they respond: "you're just jealousšŸ™„". They are the worst part of the fandom and nothing can help them. And before you gaslight me like this: "These are your recommendations, they are not real army, etc". My answer: The fact that YOU personally have not encountered this does not mean that it does NOT exist. It is impossible to stay in an environment where everyone blames you, gaslights and insults you. submitted by /u/No_365 [link] [comments]

2.256. Why are people brushing past what happened with vcha?

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

This is a genuine question, I’m seeing people getting excited about the 4 girls left possibly having a rebrand with jyp but didn’t one of the members try to end themselves? I’m just confused about the situation, did it come out that all of it wasn’t true or are people just not pretending to care anymore? (Can someone give me an update because I’m seeing conflicting stuff everywhere) submitted by /u/No_Relation_9921 [link] [comments]

2.257. I feel like there are too many fans who stan popularity and not music

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

It's so bizarre to see so many Kpop stans only go for the most popular groups and then build their whole identity around flexing that popularity. They'll boast nonstop about chart positions, sales, and brand deals, talking like their faves are objectively "above " everyone else in every category. And I get it. Following a successful group isn't a crime. I suppose it’s like bandwagoning the top franchises in a sports league. But the real issue is when fans treat popularity as proof that their taste is superior is so cringe. They'll make condescending comments like, "Yeah they'll never be on this level," or "There's a reason nobody likes them," or "If they were actually talented, they'd have way more fans." Like… are you a fan of the music and the artistry? Or are you just here for the numbers and the clout? Obviously, this type of behavior isn’t super common here specifically, but everywhere else including other Kpop-related subreddits, I often see people weaponizing success metrics to invalidate other groups or dismiss anyone who doesn’t stan the "top tier." I just don’t get it. At least in sports, there are clear winners and losers where winning literally trumps everything. But this type of behavior in Kpop? Really? Ever since all these stats and metrics became more accessible, people have been using them to pit groups against each other and make meaningless hierarchies. It definitely didn’t feel this intense back then. The obsession with numbers has only been getting worse over time. I’ve honestly never seen this kind of mindset so normalized in any other music genre. submitted by /u/Acrobatic_Prize_7749 [link] [comments]

2.258. I love 'Dancing Alone' and 'Strawberry Cheesegame' by KiiiKiii

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

They were released recently and I keep repeating them on my playlist. They are very great songs and the choreography for 'Dancing Alone' is really energetic and fun. The concept teasers were so aesthetic and cool. The MV for 'Dancing Alone' is also nice. I love the concept that revolves around nature and peaceful vibes. It gives me a reminiscent of the 2000s. 'Dancing Alone' feels very Wonder Girls in my opinion but it’s 5th gen and Gen Z. The vocals are soft with a bouncy beat that feels nostalgic and fun. 'Strawberry Cheesegame' has a timeless feel to it, it has a dreamy, sparkly, and slightly quirky vibe. The chorus is the best part of the song. It's the perfect song for a bike ride to a picnic. The instrumental is tickling my brain in the best way. Both songs are nostalgic fun summer songs. KiiiKiii reminds me of 2nd and 3rd gen girl groups. I love how their songs are both gp friendly and experimental. Their music feels dreamy, sometimes a little strange in a good way, and really bubbly. Their artistic vision is so well executed. submitted by /u/CrimsonThicket [link] [comments]

2.259. The more I think about Lara and Manon getting queer-baiting accusations the weirder it is.

  • 3 weeks ago schedule
  • reddit.com language

At first I obviously thought it was insane because Lara had openly came out as queer. But the more I think about it, it really annoys me that Lara (who is an openly queer woman) is getting these accusations, since no one ever says this when two female idols act the same. Im not going to name anyone but sometimes it is glaringly obvious when idols think it’s funny and cute to act ā€œfruityā€ or when they are doing it for fan service, because they know fans go crazy over it. So why is it now a problem when an openly queer woman embraces her sexuality and owns who she is🤨 Honestly, I already know why but the way queer women are treated is disgusting. Especially a queer woman of colour. submitted by /u/M0us3Cheezz [link] [comments]
