Ew trump. I do not support any misogynistic, white nationalist, incel, hitler-like (esp. Musk), racists at all and neither does this sub and apparently neither does reddit as a site as a whole. He stands against everything Kpop stands for which is an art form from a formerly colonized people from a country that is rising up against colonialism and hatred. It’s kind of like that saying, “It’s not the country that’s bad, it’s the people who run it.” But at the same time, because those people work under the company’s name, whatever they do ends up reflecting back on the company. So yeah, it’s really a double-edged sword, isn't it? submitted by /u/Daddy1007a [link] [comments]
Hi everyone. I'm making my first Reddit post in hopes it can reach many people. Boys 2 Planet is coming to an end this week and I really want Kang Woojin to debut. I have been rooting for him since the beginning. I want those who don't know about him to see the talent that he is. I know y'all would adore him — just watch his performance to Atlantis Princess by BoA and you'll see how amazing he is. There is something about him that is rare to see now in humans: his humbleness and kindness. I think someone like him deserves the opportunity to debut.. He is an amazing singer and dancer (again watch his performance to Atlantis Princess and tell me that isn't the cutest dance you've seen). He is handsome and TALL. Like come on visual and talent AND kindness, what more could you want in an idol. I just really want him to debut 🥲 I hope I convinced at least one person. If you can, I ask for you to download the Mnet+ app and go to Boys 2 Planet and vote for Kang Woojin until the final episode airs 🩵 submitted by /u/goldfishslippers_ [link] [comments]

(Not a S2U btw so i might not know the lore) First of all, I like the group name, idk if its an unpopular opinion. "It's giving nugu" lol, not a drag for me. But their stage names? Let me open kpoprofiles up. Jiwoo - there is few other Jiwoos, they could be more creative here but on the other side, its her name soo its okay, im just nitpicking. Carmen - from her surname, right? very cute Yuha - okay, it reminds me kinda of Pristin and Yuha and i liked their stage names in general. Stella - the name she used in canada, cute. SM finally debuted a Stella. (Am I the only one who remembers about SNSD's pre debut lineup changes?) deep sigh here we go Juun - honestly it should be just Jueun, i don't like the spelling A-na (에이나) - Sorry but just Ana would be better even though it's painfully basic, or anything else really with -na at the end. It sounds awkward. Ian - i just found out it's her real name tbh😭 I was ready to throw hands at SM... Let me admit, that's a rare name among idols. I know it's spelled correctly but I would make her a Yian or something (what is wrong with me?) Ye-on (예온) - I hate it. This is how I used to think I'm supposed to read Yeon (연) when I saw Hyoyeon and Taeyeon for the first time. Two syllables. It sucks. Whose idea was that? submitted by /u/ke0ta [link] [comments]

Before I used to think idols were so cool and hardworking for doing so many things within a tight schedule and as a Suzy fan, I'd literally brag about how much she does and how little sleep she gets but how good she always sounds and how she is still amazing at everything she does but after getting internships and now working full time, I just see it as horrible planning on their company's part. And the fact that this is a very consistent thing that happens across companies is very concerning. It made sense to me before to want to promote their comeback well so performing on music shows and appearing and promoting in various other ways for 2 weeks but now my adult brain cant comprehend why it was made this way. The promotion cycle can definetly be extended longer and we really dont need a new performance every day/every other day. Performances can definelty be spread out on top of other promotional activities and I think more things can be pre recorded and companies should be able to plan things better so idols arent only sleeping for 3 hours. Has anyone else had their perception about something in kpop changed like this? submitted by /u/MaximumAstronomer747 [link] [comments]
I saw so many talented groups with great music come and go without ever getting the big break that they deserve because they just happened to be under shitty labels that mistreated and mismanaged them. The one that hurt me the most is pentagon, who knew how big they could be if cube just get their shit together and manage and promote them properly. Kpop fans always said that this label is so lucky to have this group under them but i would argue is the other way around, yess the group is talented and deserve their success 100% but so does other Hundred groups in the industry that disbanded because of their labels mismanagement and if they debuted under a shitty labels like cube, TS or MBK ent they probably would long gone without ever getting their big break. So both the artists and the labels are lucky to have each other. submitted by /u/Chemical_Mobile_6613 [link] [comments]
Hi! I'm building a girl group with my friends (we didn't know each other before this, but connected through the project). We currently have 4 out of 5 members and are looking for our final member. We're specifically looking for East Asian or Southeast Asian girls, ages 22-24 (we don't want to go higher than 24), preferably based in the GTA/Ontario/Canada or the USA (Los Angeles, Houston, Texas). Our group already includes members from different cultural backgrounds, and we'd love to add this representation to complete the lineup and create a strong, balanced dynamic. Our concept is celestial, and we plan to release music in the genres of pop, alternative pop, and upbeat R&B. If you have experience in singing, dancing, rapping, or all three, we'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to reach out with your preferred contact method (Discord, FaceTime, email, Instagram) along with any social media you'd like to share. submitted by /u/honeydewisis [link] [comments]
Just a few posts before this there is someone asking for K-Pop releases that sound really like J-Pop. The most recent example being UNIS's MoshiMoshi. I don't think it's a bad song, I respect the fact that the whole song is in Japanese, and I get that they're aiming for authenticity. Also, UNIS's concept as a group fits the song well, at least from what I know about them. It just sounds too much like an already existing J-Pop song for me. It's produced by Honeyworks, famous mainly for their viral hit "Kawaikute Gomen" in 2022-2023, and their UNIS's song sounds like it could be sang by any musician in Japan, which makes it sound generic in the midst of so many already existing cute J-Pop songs. However, I also saw a twitter post with a ton of likes praising UNIS's new song MoshiMoshi for "actually sounding like J-Pop" and getting an actual Japanese producer (Honeyworks). That twitter post and the replies are particularly grating to me because it seems like some people think that Japanese K-Pop releases have to sound like what people think is "authentic" J-Pop, when in reality, J-Pop has many subgenres, and K-pop fans in Japan listen to K-pop because they're not much into the conventional J-pop sounds, or they just want a breathe of fresh air. I also listen to a lot of J-Pop and J-Pop is not just cute idol music. I think it comes from a misunderstanding from some anime or J-idol fans of what J-Pop actually is. As someone who listens to both K-pop and J-pop (not just cute idol J-pop), I prefer if K-pop groups add their own flair into Japanese releases, or be bold and use those J-Pop inspired sounds in their Korean comebacks, like YENA did with Nemonemo. submitted by /u/GaurdsGuards [link] [comments]
So I have recently got into Katseye and I originally that this group was all adults but after doing so research after seeing a video talking about their ages and I got a little worried about hearing that Yoonchae was 17 especially after all the other stuff I have been hearing about other group members doing and posting what would be deemed as sexual while underage. I really do like their music but should I be supporting a group that does this stuff? To be fair I have been on and off in the kpop community for a while so I never truly realized how bad minor exploitation actually is. I have been hearing different opinions on the matter and I respect and understand all of them expect the ones made by actual predators. I just dont want to be rash and jump into a decision about this without hearing any outside opinions. submitted by /u/Glittering_Light_605 [link] [comments]

We always see males having crushes on K-pop girls but when it comes to girls, we never see it. Virtually every male including myself have had crushes. Girls, on the other hand we never see it. submitted by /u/ConfectionLost7374 [link] [comments]
