As someone who grew up watching Violet Evergarden and Studio Ghibli this song takes me back to the feeling of watching them for the first time. Something about the song is so freeing and nostalgic. If anyone knows of any songs similar to it please recommend because I can’t stop listening to it. submitted by /u/Heavy_Level7944 [link] [comments]

I've been into K-pop since 2020, so I've seen my fair share of debuts. As life got in the way, I've been taking some time away from K-pop for the last two years, and I've only been loosely following my favorite groups. But ever since Hearts2Hearts' debut, I've just been pulled back into this universe. Their debut song, The Chase, has this je-ne-sais-quoi that got me hooked since the first note. And their b-sides, Butterfly, is so dreamy and beautiful! I think I watched all of their stages from their debut era. I love seing the girls perform. I know some people had reservations about their voices and vocal abilities, which I can understand given that it's a SM group we are talking about, but it's not something that really bothers me. They just debuted, and I'm sure they will prove to their fans and the general public what they are really able to do in the coming months/years. From what I've seen so far, they can all hold their own on stage. Their dance is so clean, it's amazing for a big group! I'm hypnotized every time I put on one of their dance practices. And some of the girls, especially Ian and Jiwoo, have really good stage presence! As it is easier with recently-debuted groups, I've been able to follow their other contents, and they have lovely personalities. I love the way how they banter and joke with each other ever since their first videos, it's nice to see a newly-debuted group with good chemistry. But because they are all so fun, I just can't pick a bias 😭 Now that they just had a comeback, Style (which is really good and fun!), I can't wait to see what the future holds for them. I hope SM will be able to maintain their sound (I'd love to have more Butterfly-like songs), and I'm looking forward to their end-of-the-year stages (and maybe an award, who knows?). submitted by /u/coraelie [link] [comments]
Ever since the hallyu wave + the rise of kpop groups from 2016. We can clearly see in recent years how the rapid increase of idol groups debuting has become. I've noticed in recent years how the entertainment companys are constantly debuting new groups but they are forgotten after few years and get less and less promo. submitted by /u/shadow_scar1122 [link] [comments]

Why are people still voting for and supporting minors to debut in idol groups? We’re talking about kids who are 14, 15, 16 years old entering one of the most intense and toxic industries, where they’re expected to perform at adult levels, handle extreme schedules, and endure nonstop scrutiny online. In today’s cyber world, even adult idols struggle with the overwhelming number of comments, hate, pressure to be perfect, and overexposure. How can a literal child deal with that? Some of the idols who debuted at a young age have spoken out later about missing out on childhood friendships, normal school life, and even their teenage years because they were pushed into the spotlight so early. They had no time to grow up like regular kids. That’s not something you can ever get back. It’s honestly wild to me that we’re normalizing it cheering for them, calling them “icons” or “naturals,” when in reality they’re just too young to be thrown into this kind of spotlight. There’s a reason we have age limits in most professional fields to protect people from harm they may not be ready for. I’m not saying they can’t train sure, if someone wants to prepare behind the scenes while they grow up, that’s great. But debuting and being marketed publicly, sometimes even in provocative ways? That’s crossing a line. Shouldn’t there be a clear age limit like 18+ for debuting in idol groups? Would love to hear your thoughts. Am I alone in thinking this? submitted by /u/Renebae1991 [link] [comments]
I am always on the hunt for more kpop/kband music to listen to soooo here I am! Please comment ONE SONG that you love which you think is underrated or slept on! It can be a random bside, a Japanese release, a nugu group/soloist, a title track that didn’t quite soar, or anything in between. There’s no criteria or genre restriction so feel free to throw anything out there! It would also be fun if you gave a little blurb about your submission’s artist especially if they’re pretty unknown. :) I’ll be adding everyone’s submissions to a Spotify playlist so I can try to always listen to something new! Please only send one song, I will skip your comment or ask you to pick one if you send multiple! There won’t be any repeats, so I’ll try to reply to you if someone already submitted your song! I would love for this to be a nice collaborative playlist for everyone in the sub! Here’s the link to the playlist if anyone is also interested in saving it. To start us off, my addition is going to be DROP TOP by Soojin! For those who don’t know, she’s a former member of (G)I-DLE/i-dle and has since debuted as a soloist (and she has a cb and tour coming soon!). Thank you kpoppers 🫶 submitted by /u/rnagikrnike [link] [comments]

I sang half of them lines cuz it's a duet, you can duet me on Smule sing with me ect. Anyways, watch me outsing them vocalists with belts, whistles and extremely complex riffsnruns. Yeah I'm flexing, Gospel background btw. Enjoy. PS: Some flat notes and incomplete runs because it's raw unautotuned and I didn't bother wasting my braincells to make it perfect or intentional. This could be a spicier topic so let’s keep it respectful please and try not to be offended!! Let’s chat in good faith and take all of these comments with a sense of humor, cuz we all know those outside of the kpop sphere just don’t get it like we do ;) Has a non-kpop fan friend or family member ever commented on something within kpop without a filter, whether it’s good or bad? Because they come from an outside perspective, in my experience they tend to be more brutally honest lol… For example: My non-kpop friend said kpop boys are not manly-looking enough for her so I took that as a challenge to find one she’d find attractive. I showed her a pic of San and she said “no he’s ugly” and I nearly cried lmao. 😭 she was exaggerating cuz she’s my bff but it hurt my soul. Same friend, who is Chinese and knows of Lay from a Chinese non-kpop perspective, described him as cringe and dumb. 😭 Neutral comment from another friend: “who’s that vampire?” (Referring to Vernon in a stage performance. Lol idk why.) Showed another friend the mv for Aju Nice: (referring to Jun) “he looks like he’s trying to cosplay a white guy.” Me, Jun biased: that’s just what he looks like 😠 My mom: “he’s cute (referring to Jin in Dope mv) but I can’t really tell them apart.” submitted by /u/Lilac-Soul [link] [comments]

Yes, I know he’s already made a name for himself as a choreographer he’s worked with multiple idols and groups. Realistically, he has the credentials to be sitting on the judge panel, not competing as a trainee. But then I found out that he’s always dreamed of becoming an idol, not just staying behind the scenes. That really made me respect him even more. Also , let’s talk about the age thing. Yumeki is 25. That is not old in idol years, especially when you consider how experienced, skilled, and passionate he is. I don’t understand why some people rush to support 14–15-year-old kids who are still figuring themselves out, but ignore someone like Yumeki who is more than ready to debut. He deserves just as much support, if not more. Age shouldn’t be a barrier talent, drive, and heart matter more. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts. Who’s your bias in Boys Planet 2 so far? Curious to hear who everyone’s rooting for! submitted by /u/Renebae1991 [link] [comments]

We all love our fav groups alright? But let's be real rn, what's something they do that icks you no matter what. I mean, we certainly can look away when we need to and they don't really have to change it for us lol, but when you see it.. you cringe nonetheless. I'll start. This goes for a lot of boygroups (unfortunately), but the group I stan also does this. It's when they change the dance to be more "manly" when they're collabing with girl groups. Like.. embrace the choreo please 😭. It's just a dance. Dancing like how they do aint gonna take away your masculinity. It's literally more fun to see male idols embracing the choreo like a boss. submitted by /u/Apprehensive-Turn230 [link] [comments]
I am kinda curious. From 3rd gen to 4th and newer gen K-pop groups like SEVENTEEN, NCT, TWICE, Stray Kids,... which idols do you think have the potential to become actors/actresses? Like... I know Dahyun from TWICE is the leading female in You Are the Apple of My Eye, and Jun from 17 is an actor in China... It would be kinda amazing to see some SVT members in some comedy love, high school drama or Stray Kids in a thriller, psychological drama (this just came up into my head based on their content and their music that I have listened to)... submitted by /u/LongjumpingPage6168 [link] [comments]

I'm a Baltimore resident who couldn't go bc of my work schedule. But like, our trash collection has been on modified schedule for the past few weeks minimum bc the heat is an active danger to city workers' health. Hell, all of DMV has been dealing with 100⁰F weather for the past few weeks. So hosting a concert in this situation was already negligence towards the health of everyone in the venue. The water situation is gross negligence. So, here's the deal: JYP site has a contact form on their site. Use the "reporting issues on business ethics" option and write about your experience in DC. If you have footage and/or medical treatment records, offer to supply them. Mention that the concert has made local news that are Google indexed. Describe the actions of these partners as "damaging to the brand and grounds for personal injury lawsuits in US" to trip JYP lawyers' spidey senses. Live Nation is a monopoly, so they can prob eat the personal injury lawsuits from concert attendees. But we can try to pressure the label into pursuing legal action against them and stadium management. And maybe they can make Live Nation compensate DC ticket holders. submitted by /u/Unheroic_ [link] [comments]
